Wedding in the Pines by Cassidy Carter is a second chance romance about Hope and Slater. Once in love with music and each other, they were separated by circumstance years ago. Hope chose family responsibilities over their relationship and now years later is reconnected with Slater at a beautiful resort called Cabins at the Pines.
Hope is organizing a conference for her father's company and isn't sure how to feel when she arrives to find her old love Slater is managing the resort, while also helping to organize the wedding of his two good friends.
The beautiful setting is the highlight of this story about second chances. Slater and Hope not only revisit old feelings and hurts, but they must examine where their choices have taken them, and what is really important to them now, and in the future.
It was a sweet story about love and friendship and in case I didn't mention it, a wedding!

As with most Hallmark stories, I really enjoyed this book, and I could definitely see this one becoming a movie on their channel. I loved the setting of this story so much, and the plot itself was full of emotion. This second chance romance was all that I ever want out of a Hallmark romance story.

I think Wedding in the Pines is pretty much exactly what you would expect from a Hallmark published book. It's cute, very clean, and a super quick and easy read for some of you hopeless romantics. I am a fan of Christina Lauren's romance novels and I think this book read in an effortless and similar writing style as one of theirs. Though, I did enjoy how easy it was to understand the plot and characters, this book just seemed too predictable. I know it is not supposed to have a lot of plot twists and ah-ha moments but I felt like I had already read this book before, if that makes sense. I did have fun, but romances of this specific type are a bit too overdone in my opinion. One last thing I had a hard time looking past is that there wasn't enough "showing" and way too much "telling". It was hard to believe the main love story because I just wasn't convinced they were meant to be together. When I read a romance, I want to feel like I am falling in love with the characters and in this story, I just wasn't feeling that. For these reasons, I think other people may enjoy it but personally, it was not my favorite.
Thank you Cassidy Carter, Hallmark Publishing and Net Galley for sending me this ARC in exchange for an honest
review!

This is my second hallmark book and it gave me all the hallmark feels! It made me hope the couple gets together, it made me want to travel to the beautiful resort that sounded perfect, and it made me excited to pick up the book every time ! I am also thankful for a clean romance that I don’t have to worry about my kids hearing.

Years ago, Hope left her fiancé with a note. Imagine her surprise when she shows up to a week long conference and he is there wi the his best friends planning their wedding. Slater doesn’t know what to think. He’s still hurt over her leaving but he also still loves her. He hopes to use this week to reconnect with her.
Opinion
I listened to the audiobook and was mesmerized by the narrators. Alternating between a male and female voice when the viewpoint changed allowed for more realism of the book.
The story itself was downright charming. The setting and characters gave off a “down home” feel to them. Overall, the story was sweet and endearing. This book is for those of you who don’t like the boat to be rocked too much but still enjoy the chase. Great read (listen.)
Many thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC of this audiobook.

Why hello sweet little light hearted romance! What a lovely start to summer reading with this little gem! It’s a sweet rekindled, long lost love story, which was maybe predictable, but the journey of the story was well worth it! The Cabins in the Pines resort is the perfect mountain lakeside backdrop for a love story like Hope & Slater’s. We are talking fire pits, Adirondack chairs, lake views, guitar strumming, wedding planning bliss. If you are looking for a light, quick, cozy, romantic read, look no further! I listened to it on audio & found it very enjoyable to listen to & easily held my attention!

Another hit from Hallmark Publishing.
For those of you who have read Love on Location, you need to read the next book in the series. This one really hit the mark for me, a read crowd-pleaser, and something I'm considering reading again (and I don't say that often).
Fast-paced and full of humor you'll fall in love with Slater and Hope as they find themselves falling in love all over again.
I highly recommend this book for all audiences. This is a clean romance that should be made into a Hallmark movie. Someone call Crown Media. You can use me for a reference. ;)

I loved Hope and Slater's second chance love story!. It was fun listening to this on Audio , two narrators made it interesting , a more intimate experience. The wedding at the pines sounds like perfect place to be for a wedding or a much needed vacation .,wonderful description.. The secondary Characters were great , overall a wonderful story , perfect read for romance lovers .

This would make a perfect movie for the Hallmark Channel. Who wouldn't love to vacation at the romantic, relaxing location of Cabins In The Pines-the perfect location for a wedding. I am a romantic. Hope and Slater were engaged in college but when Hope's mother became ill, at the strong urging of her father, Hope gave up her music dreams and the love of her life to be there for her mother and work at the family investment company. To make it worse, she broke up with Slater by "note". She is a whiz at investments but it's not her passion. It was her father's dream. Fast forward and by chance she reconnects with Slater and their connection is instant as if no time has passed. But, her father is still adamant that Hope do as he says. Hope must decide if she wants to please her father or herself. The author is extremely talented. The narration threw me a little. It flips back and forth between dual narrators Alexander Cendese and Melie Williams. I believe it was so that Mr. Cendese could read the "Slater" chapters and Ms. Williams would read the part of Hope. However, in trying to change his voice to handle the feminine side of the conversation it did not come across well. The parts where he spoke as Slater were excellent. Beautifully written, heartwarming story.

Wedding in the Pines, by Cassidy Carter, is the second book set in Cabins in the Pines. Annie Goodman of Beacon Investments has helped her boss Hope Bergman, daughter of the company’s founder Dan, put together their annual investors retreated and has chosen the new convention center at Cabin in the Woods. While not the type of location that is usually chosen, the surroundings are beautiful and the facilities are new and ready to accommodate theirs and their clients needs.
Hope was not originally a finance major, but has now done so and has flourished in the business. That is if you call working all the time flourishing. Her only guilty pleasure seems to be the piano in her condo which she now only plays for her own pleasure. Hope began college as a music major but switched after her father’s pleading and her mother’s illness so she would be ready to take on the responsibility of the family business when the time came.
After Hope’s mother’s passing there seems to be a distance between her and her father. Hope longs to bridge that gap and is in hope that this conference, which she and Annie have planned to precision, will help bring them closer together. However, upon arrival they discover that due to a glitch in a new computer system there have been major oversights in facility schedules. A special meeting is called by management where Hope gets a bigger shock than the scheduling issues. The manager she must work with is the same man, Slater Evans, whose heart she broke at the end of her sophomore year in college. They had been music majors together, written songs, performed, and fell in love. When Hope’s mother was diagnosed, she left behind a note and his broken heart.
Slater had also changed majors to engineering and had become an integral part to Cabins in the Pines. He also had an integral part to play in his boss and best friend’s upcoming wedding, the very one that had created the conflicts. As Hope and Slater work together to coordinate a successful conference while assuring a beautiful wedding there is also healing for both parties. But it is only for one week, right? Just one week to heal the past and just maybe open the door to the future.
This is a nicely written story with delightful characters and lovely setting and several interwoven plot themes that will please readers. I did enjoy this book and I do recommend it!

Slater and Hope were a couple in their college days until Hope’s mother got sick and Hope left college and Slater. Now, years later, she is in line to run her father’s financial company. She is at the resort Cabins in the Pines for a business retreat and finds that Slater is the manager. He is busy getting ready for the wedding of his two best friends. Painful memories surface for Hope and Slater and they decide to enjoy the week together when they can. They find that their love has not diminished and try to find a way to make things work. I loved the setting of the Pines and the activities surrounding the wedding. The characters both at the financial retreat and the wedding were fun to get to know. Quick read and I enjoyed this book immensely.

This was the definition of a Hallmark romance. It was a very sweet romance about a couple that broke up years ago and have found their way back to each other. My biggest complaint is that it is entirely too predictable, which I don't normally mind in a rom-com but this one was just a bit too obvious and naïve for my taste. The re-formed budding romance just seemed a bit unrealistic in the way they kept having conversations establishing that they could coexist for a week. How many times did they need to establish that fact? The writing just seemed a bit immature. I listened to the audiobook and I think the narrators weren't a great fit for this story. Alexander Cendese and Melie Williams definitely have talent but I'm not sure this is the proper genre for either of them. Overall, it was a cute story but I don't feel the need to read more from this author.
Thank you to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for a ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This book is a fun easy breezy read that is just what I needed in between heavy hitter books! The story is a bit predictable but it’s not very hard to like the characters. It did take me a bit to get in to it because the narration isn’t the best but once I did I enjoyed the book.

I enjoyed this one! I thought it was a super cute second chance romance, perfect for a Hallmark movie! Hope is a steadfast, hardworking, finance woman and Slater is a quiet, sensitive Cabin manager and I think they actually worked well together. You could tell they had a lot of history when they ran into each other at the cabins and they were able to rediscover what they left behind. The story was a super quick read (or listen as I listened to the audiobook) and the plot moved along nicely. I liked that you learn more about the secondary characters and you learn to love them and want to take your own trip to the cabins!
I didn't like the narrators on the audiobook though. It made it a little hard to listen to but I powered through and enjoyed the story.

And here I am with another audiobook that is perfect for if you like Hallmark movies (I mean it is by Hallmark publishing!) Wedding in the Pines is a sweet second chance romance. Hope left Slater, and their music, in college to follow the path her father wanted. Now she works at his financial firm, who is hosting their conference at the cabins that Slater works at. Will their reunion help show them what they could have had? Or is it too late?
This was definitely a cute audiobook that was a perfect listen to at work. Sometimes I like the not super serious or ones I have to intently focus on while doing science 🧪

Another story from Hallmark Publishing. Just like the movies they follow the same formula for story telling.
Just in time for summer wedding season we have another wedding story. In this one Slater runs Cabins in the Pines and he has an important wedding coming up and he wants everything to be perfect. We also meet Hope who has a history with Slater. She works for her father and he wants her to follow in his footsteps. His company has a conference at the Cabins and guess who she will run into? Will they be able to put the past behind them and maybe start again. You will have to tune in to find out.
This is the second book in the Cabin in the Pines series. They could be read together but is is fine as a stand alone.

Wedding in the Pines was a cute 2nd chance romance novel. If you enjoy hallmark movies and clean romances this is 100% the book for you. The story revolves around Hope and her father and his company they both work at and the strain relationship between them since her mother passed away and Slater and his friends who are also the Pine Staff where he is working. They have a company retreat at the Pines the same weekend as the wedding and they see each other for the 1st time since college where they and things ended Bad.
At 1st they try to ignore each other but as the story goes along they find away to forgive some parts of the past and become friends again. Then when they start working together all the feelings from all those years ago come back.
I liked Hope and Slater as charterers and To me Slater was the more likely one. Hope is someone who just doesn't stand up for what she wants and her father was a dick.
If this isn't a hallmark movie one day (or if it already is) I'll be surprised. I listened to the Audio book and the narration was good except for the guy who did the same whinny voice for all females. You know the ones I'm talking about if you listen to Audio. that just takes me out of the story and makes me cringe.
This was a Very PG story. Kissing is as far as anything goes. Which is fine. I like a romance with a little more Spice.
All in all it was a cute book but I wanted the charters to grow a little more and Slater to not be ready to go back to her day 1. and I wanted more Sizzle from them. But if PG Kissing with a happily ever after (Zero conflict if you ask me) then this is a must read.
I'm glad I read it but it wasn't my style of book.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this early release in exchange for my honest review.

Perfect Hallmark movie drawing you in as if you are one of the characters yourself. Exciting love story in a rollercoaster ride as life brings it. Small town love story.

In true Hallmark fashion, this book is full of reunited love and family drama! That being said - It was nice to read a low drama, predictable book. Hope was a lovable character who had made sacrifices in her life due to family events. As she and Slater worked through their past relationship, things got messy.
This was one of those books you can read quickly and can engage in the story. The author did a great job of describing the enchanting area and made me, as the reader, wish I could go on a retreat like this!

I loved this light romance! Hope and Slater was such well rounded characters with a second chance and I couldn't put it down. I listened to this in 2 sittings and was very upset when it was finished. It left me wanting more while also wrapping it up perfectly. highly recommend
