Good story! Lots of holiday fun at Reindeer Games, as to be expected. Reading this managed to get me in the mood for Christmas despite the 90+ degree days of July. Mistletoe it’s locations, people, and events are all so fun. Can’t forget the animals either! Of course, there is a murder and it takes place at Reindeer Games. Of course one of Holly’s friends is a suspect.

The main thing I did not like about the book was the “surprise” ending- I don’t mean the murder resolution, it is a personal event that will be obvious to any reader pretty early on. It just felt forced, and wayyyy too obvious. Even if Holly was super swamped, busy and stressed I could not imagine she would not see it coming. So I do have to take a star off for how irritated I was that she didn’t realize, even up until the last second.

Other than that, a very fun read. Great escape read. If you want a break from ho,I day stress, pick this up. Looking forward to another installment, hoping there will be one.

Christmas is always fun, but with Holly White and her eccentric cast of friends and family it is an absolute blast! I'd love to find a place that really had an Inn located on a tree farm filled with fun, food and festivities! Of course, I'd hope my trip wouldn't include a murder...well unless there was a Holly White around to help solve the case! I love that there is a competent police force in this series and that the crime solver is doing so out impatience with the process rather than trying to fight the police force to do their job. Unfortunately our crime solver doesn't always get things right, but that makes the books feel more real! FYI: Everyone needs a bit of Cookie and Theodore in their lives and you'll just have to read the book to find out what I mean by that!!

The first two books in Jacqueline Frost's Christmas Tree Farm Mystery series have become some of my all time favorite cozy mysteries, so I was ecstatic when I found out she was writing a third. This lovely holiday tale was everything I was hoping for and more, and exactly what I've come to expect from reading any of the fabulous mysteries this talented lady writes under her real name or her various pen names.

I adore Mistletoe and Reindeer Games as the setting for these stories, and I love how the setting almost becomes a character in its own right. It was lovely getting to catch back up with old friends, and I loved how Holly and her close knit circle of family and friends will stop at nothing to see their beloved Cookie Cutter not have to take the fall for an evil mastermind who seems to be trying to frame her.

I've read quite a few cozy mysteries over the years, and Slashing Through the Snow is definitely another new favorite. The mystery is well plotted and perfectly paced, there's plenty of hijinks and hilarity, there's popups from many of the beloved characters from the previous books, and there's a perfect emphasis on Holly's blossoming relationship with local sheriff Evan Gray.

If you love Christmas stories and cozy mysteries, this is definitely a book you're going to want to go ahead and pick up.

I'm crossing my fingers we will get more books in this series, as I definitely want more from these favorite characters, and their heartwarming small town.

Final Rating: 4/5.

Thanks so much to Crooked Lane Books for allowing me to advance read and review this!

If I could give this book a thousand stars, I would! I so love this series - what a cute idea for a new story every Christmas and I liked that they changed it up a bit and gave Holly a new job and that she tackled it successfully without being all damsel in distress whiny. Loved this book and already counting down the minutes until the 2022 version comes out!!!

Slashing Through The Snow is one of those books that require warm socks, a fuzzy blanket, and a cup of hot chocolate. When Holly White stumbles upon the murder of a notoriously nasty critic at the inn she runs for her parents, the blame falls on a person she holds near and dear. Being the inquisitive person she is, Holly decides to investigate and what she finds is something you’ll have to wait for until you read the book!

This is a wonderful, cozy mystery which just the right amount of friendships and tight-knit community vibes. I definitely recommend giving this book a try.

First I would like to thank Jacqueline Frost and Crooked Lane Books for allowing me to preview Slashing through the snow. In the middle of a hot summer, the charming snow covered town of Mistletoe brought much needed cheer and excitement.

Slashing through the snow is a perfect winter mystery. I love Frosts ability to balance a dark mystery with lighthearted fun— this makes her Mistletoe book series perfect for a reader who enjoys mysteries, but is not quite ready for the dark and intense likes of books such as Gone Girl or In a Dark Dark Wood. Her characters are well developed and likable, and I found myself rooting for our protagonist in both her personal life and in solving her case at every turn. My only wish for this book is that I had read it around Christmas time—although I plan to do so this year once I am able to purchase the book!

All in all, I am giving this book 4/5 stars. It’s an excellent, cozy read that I will be recommending to friends and family—and that I plan to gift to my mom on Christmas this year!

I really enjoyed this book. Karen, a critic was there to review the Inn. Holly White , the Inn manager is also the amateur sleuth, She always ends up in danger. This time ha family member , Cookie is the prime suspect and of course Holly has to prove she didn't. This is one of those stories that you really don't know who done it until the end. A VERY GOOD READ.

I was so excited to see the third in the series come up on NetGalley. I adored the first two and have been checking to see when the third was coming out. I love the setting of mistletoe Maine and the quirky characters. In the third installment, Holly’s friend, Cookie is suspected of a murder and Holly will stop at nothing to prove her innocence. The relationships are coming along nicely, but I found Holly to be a bit more pushy in this one than before. I don’t know how many times Evan asked her to stop investigating and she just kept ignoring him. That got a little frustrating but overall I loved it and I’m looking forward to the next!

I want to spend the Holidays at the inn on the Reindeer Games Christmas Tree Farms in Mistletoe, Maine. Holly White is a wonderful manager and would be an amazing hostess. So there's a little matter of the murder of a well-known critic and death threats to Holly - it's nothing her boyfriend, a detective with the sheriff's department can't handle.

Slashing Through the Snow by Jacqueline Frost is an entertaining read and I would read more by this author.

The Christmas Tree Farm cozy series has become one of my favorite cozy series of all and this third installment is the best one yet. Probably my favorite cozy of the year, so far.

I adore the setting, Reindeer Farms Christmas Tree Farm in Mistletoe Maine, as well the the lead and secondary characters. Love the atmosphere and ambiance of Mistletoe, as well as the the intricate plots.

Fun puzzlers with characters who've become like family to me and a festive holiday spirit is a sure-fire winning combination for this cozy fan.

Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries!!

Jacqueline Frost takes us back to Mistletoe, Maine for another charming, and suspenseful cozy mystery.
Holly White is busy managing the newly opened and popular Inn on her family's Christmas Tree Farm. Her handmade jewelry business is thriving and she still helps out with the upcoming holiday events.

When an unpopular critic pays a visit to her Inn, a murder puts Holly's friend Cookie at the top of the suspect list. Holly finds herself in danger yet again, while she investigates the crime.

Yet again, we are treated to heartwarming family dynamics in a fun and unique setting.
The romantic story between Evan and Holly was developed in previous books, and we are treated to the new relationship between the two of them.

Overall, a satisfying and highly enjoyable read! The characters and mystery are both strong, and I recommend this cozy even to those who aren't attracted to the holiday theme.

I eagerly requested and received an advance digital copy of this book from NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for the opportunity to give my honest review after reading.

Another amazing book in the series! I didn't know if the author would write a 3rd as it's been a while since the last one released but am so pleased that she did! I love this series and always look forward to the authors cozies! Highly recommended!

I was so happy to see this book offered on Netgalley, I had read the first 2 books in this series and kept hoping there would be another story in this series.

I love to read series where the story and the character progress over time and this series definitely has that! I already can't wait to read the next book and it probably hasn't even been written yet!

This time Holly's friend Cookie is a suspect in the murder of a journalist because the weapon was the Nutcracker that Cookie had just given Holly! Of course Holly isn't going to sit back and wait for her boyfriend/sheriff to solve the crime without her assistance. Everything comes to a wonderful conclusion that brought tears to my eyes.

I want to thank Netgalley and Crooked Lane Books for the opportunity to read and review this book.

What a fun cozy mystery! I enjoyed reading this book immensely. The setting was unusual: a Christmas themed town in Maine. It had not only spine tingling suspense and action, but it also had romance. I highly recommend this book to other cozy mystery readers.

Holly White manages an inn located on her family's Christmas tree farm in the town on Mistletoe, Maine. With a full inn, Holly is staying even busier than usual by designing jewelry for a wedding, wrapping toy donations for the holidays, and doing her own shopping. On top of that, a major critic is checked in and will be writing a review. Unfortunately, Cleo is mostly known for her nasty reviews of small businesses. She's no delight to be around, either. And when she turns up dead, there's only one suspect - Holly's best friend Cookie.

Holly knows Cookie is innocent and decides to do a little digging to find the real killer. No sooner does she start than she uncovers a possible conspiracy involving candy, she starts seeing a man with a gun around town, and her sheriff boyfriend constantly tells her to stop getting involved. She finds herself in a couple precarious situations, but she's determined to solve the crime before Christmas.

I love cozies, and this book had a lot of my favorite aspects. The main character is a 28-year-old business owner with strong ties to her family and a love for her town. The town itself is charming - basically a year-round Christmas. Mistletoe has some zany residents, including Cookie. She's an elderly woman with a pet goat she brings around town with her. The Christmas tree farm is a lovely, festive place, and the annual Reindeer Games before the holiday serve as entertaining fun for the inn's guests. I wish Mistletoe was real so I could go there! I definitely recommend this book to any cozy lover and to anyone who loves Christmas.

Slashing Through The Snow by Jacqueline Frost is the third book in the Reindeer Games Christmas Tree Farm series. Just like the previous two Christmases, Holly, who runs the B and B at Reindeer Games Christmas Tree Farm has another mystery to solve. Karen, who is a critic for B and B’s is found dead on the porch of Holly’s B and B. Karen is not a very nice person so there are a lot of suspects. Unfortunately, Holly’s friend Cookie’s fingerprints are all over the murder weapon. So now Holly along with her boyfriend who happens to be the sheriff along with a few others need to solve the case. In the meantime, Cookie is spending the Christmas season in jail and Holly is losing business because no one wants to stay at a B and B where someone has been murdered. Quirky characters who are trying to solve a crime during the holidays make Slashing Through The Snow a fun mystery to read at Christmastime or at any time!
