As Marley steps in to help her best friend Anna tour a wedding venue she has no idea she is about to meet the gorgeous manager Cameron. He assumes she’s Anna and so the mix up starts.

A feel good romcom with a difference that turned out to not be what I thought. I was expecting more of a focus on a romance based story. A fun and light read about finding yourself, friendship and everything inbetween.

Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this one! I definitely expected more of a romance, but that didn't end up being a problem. I honestly liked how this dealt with topics other than just romance.

My favorite thing about this was definitely the shock factor it brought. The way all of the story threads connected had me on the edge of my seat, which isn't something you see very often in romances. The entire time I had a slight suspicion regarding a certain character, but that suspicion culminated in a way I wasn't expecting.

Xavier was definitely my favorite character, but I liked the others too. It was kind of hard to connect with most of the side characters because they were suspicious, but I found myself liking them. Other than Anna of course, I really didn't like her. I appreciated that the author rebuilt their friendship, but I couldn't stand how terrible of a friend Anna was.

I was slightly disappointed by the lack of resolution at the end of this. I was expecting a romance, so I wasn't too happy that that romance never really happened. I liked it, but I wish we could've gotten 50 pages of conclusion.

Anna and Marley are best friends. So when Anna rings Marley, panicking because she has to miss a tour of an exclusive wedding venue, Marley agrees to go in her friend’s place. Only she wasn’t counting on meeting someone smart and funny and all the opportunities there.... And her one lie to needs to another..... Marley needs to think fast.... Not exactly a romance book but a funny story with romance in it. I did enjoy quite a bit.

Thanks to the publisher for providing an ARC for me.

This wasn't exactly as advertised. I thought it was going to be more focused on Marley pretending to be Anna and the hijinks that ensue. Instead, her romance with Cameron is a small subplot and the focus is more on her new acting gig (if I remember correctly, I don't think they ever even kiss). The author does mention this at the very end, so at least it's acknowledged. I also felt that other than Xavier, a lot of the characters weren't that great.

The Mix-up is cheeky, fun and light.
Marley gets a bit carried away after a rude receptionist patronizes her and pretends to be her bestie Anna at a hotel and potential wedding venue. She becomes friends with the staff and the lie gets bigger.
Throw in Anna's story with a potentially cheating fiancé and "wedmin" to do- the mix up begins,
Lots of twists and turns with Anna, Marley's love/hate relationship with her career, a few confusing and surprising smaller characters make their mark too.
Exactly what I wanted from this type of book.

This book was a bit of a swing and a miss for me. I was expecting more of a romance novel, and although there are romantic threads to the storyline I would say it errs more strongly on the women’s fiction side of things.

I found the storyline pretty predictable, and it felt like all the twists didn’t have the shock value which I think was intended. Moreover, I didn’t find any of the characters had much chemistry with one another, and this caused the book to feel pretty boring to me. I definitely think some people would really enjoy it, especially those looking for an easy read focusing on female friendship and finding yourself, but unfortunately it wasn’t my cup of tea.
