I am a huge Auster fan. I am not a huge Crane fan. Or maybe I am now. I need to go back and re-read his works now. However, one doesn't need to be a Crane fan to read this. It's as much a historical piece as it is a piece of literary journalism. As much a glimpse into the mind of a writer. as it is a biography of a writer. Burning Boy is another great book from Auster. His style elevates the story of this man. And you feel as though you're in the era, living beside Crane. Would certainly recommend this novel to Auster fans, Crane fans, and fans of incredibly insightful literature.
