I hate you more was a three star read. It was a little slow at the beginning and some other parts after but I finally got into it around the middle part of the book and I was able to invest in the characters more then.

I did like the ending and how the girl character was able to stick up for herself with her job. The ending was also my favorite with the grand guesture. It definitely does have potential. Thank you Netgalley and publishers for allowing me the chance to read and review this book. My thoughts and opinions were my own.

I absolutely adored this book!
Who doesn’t love a good enemies to lovers tale that ALSO includes dogs AND saucey elderly women??
The characters were very dynamic , but I also found them very relatable. I especially related to Lucy, having been a past pageant contestant myself who also now works in the health care field.
In “I Hate You More” Lucy is a nursing assistant in a retirement home. She promises one of her favourite residents that she will make their Golden Retriever a champion in the upcoming West Coast Canine Classic. Little does she know that the dog, and one of the judges, will give her a real run for her money!
Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I cannot decide who I love more in I Hate You More by Lucy Gilmore. The rule follower, intense , swoonworthy veterinarian? The fierce, untamed, compassionate ,a bit lost ex beauty pageant queen & current nursing assistant at a quirky retirement home? Or the adorable dog who never knows how to follow orders? I Hate You More by Lucy Gilmore was incredibly witty, full of enemies to lovers tension and delivered some beautiful feels.

When Mrs. Orson guilt tripped Ruby to help enter her dog Wheezy in the prestigious West Coast Canine competition, she didn't know what she is signing up for. Because Wheezy is the farthest from being a show dog. And the judge of the show, Spencer is the strictest judge around. But Ruby is competitive and stubborn and this challenge is something she needs in her bland life. She is going to call back all her training from her beauty pageant days and dazzle Spencer. Literally.

Ruby and Spencer have very different personalities. And they bring out the best and worst in each other. Spencer made a mistake by taking Ruby lightly and judging her by appearances only. And Ruby thought of Spencer to be a stiff, brooding and no fun guy. Ruby has no direction and no dreams and she needs something to feel alive again. And Wheezy gave her a reason. And Spencer ignited the flame. On the other hand,Spencer is seen as perfect and infallible in everyone's eyes but he has so many burdens and he is exhausted. Ruby made him laugh and feel light and feel happy. They mercilessly taunted each other and there was a zing from the beginning that slowly turned into razing flame. This story made my heart warm and blissful and that's what I expected from this rom com.

I reviewed an early copy voluntarily through Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca

First thing: when I started this book I thought the story was completely different (rom-com, competition, enemies to lovers) but...
Sure I enjoyed so much this funny rom com book, I had a very good time reading but I was expecting a little more (maybe?). The plot is very funny: Ruby wants to participate and win a canine contest with Wheezy, a friend's dog, but it is not exactly in line with the competition rules!
So here comes Caleb, who presents himself as a dog trainer and offere to train Wheezy to try to win the competition... even if he believes it's impossibile. There's also Spencer, Caleb's twin, one of the judges of the competition, who tells her that she can't win. And here we go: Ruby is ready to change his mind and then accepts Caleb's offer.
Ruby although she knows very well that winning this competition is impossible, she tries (almost to piss-off Spencer). On the other hand we have the twins Spencer and Caleb and one of the trope that I liked the most :the relationship between brothers but even more precisely between twins. It's one of those dynamics I like to read about! Caleb is the classic bad boy with a soft heart, the soul of the party and with whom you can never feel comfortable, Spencer, instead is the quieter and more reserved part.
Here, there is my biggest problem, and I say it in a positive way because I just didn't understand: I thought that the love interest was another. Already. No love triangle, quiet, but I just got carried away by the wrong character.
Oh oh well, apart from at this point in the end the book is nice and I admit to having devoured the second part.
What doesn't convinced me is the beginning because I did 't understand who the love interest was, and the enemies to lovers issue. He is more of a can't stand you to lovers, because the two protagonists are his two opposite sides but not that much, he is a super simp after five seconds like.
So in the end the title can be a bit contradictory but broadly speaking it fits!
So nothing, an enjoyable, fun, yes, and super smooth read at the end!

Unfortunately this one just did not work for me. I felt like there was sexual tension between Spencer and Ruby was there but they barely talked to each other and then bam they are ripping each others clothes off.

Firstly, THANK YOU Sourcebooks Casablanca Publishing, and NetGalley, for the access to this eARC.

In "I Hate You More" by Lucy Gilmore, a former beauty queen, Ruby, is on a mission to get her elderly friend, Mrs. Orson's, loveable, fat, and infuriating, golden retriever, into a dog show. What stands in her way? Spencer, a judge of the dog show, who only sees a playful dog and an unprepared beauty queen. But Ruby is resilient, and with the help of Caleb, Spencer's tin brother, who also happens to be a dog trainer, ready to help, Spencer has to decide if he's going to admit defeat and allo Wheezy, the golden retriever, to compete.

My rating: 4.5⭐️/5. In my opinion, if you liked reading "It happened One Summer," you'll like this book, as they give off very similar vibes (and both have sas, comedy, and quality spicy scenes)! Spencer and Ruby are super sweet enemies to lovers coupling, with Spencer being the perfect Grumpy sunshine, and Ruby the sassy character. One of my recent favorite tropes this book has is the girl that keeps coming on to the guy, and the resulting chemistry is great!

There were some points in the book that I felt the detail to the events was lacking, but the overall plot, character development, and my enjoyment was high the entire time. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a good contemporary romance read

P.S. I desperately hope this is a character series (duology at least) with a second book focusing on Caleb, PLEASE LUCY GILMORE!

Give me a rom-com with a dog on the cover and the likelihood that I’ll read it is very high.

I Hate You More is about Ruby and Spencer. After being asked by a friend, Ruby agrees to help her friends dog, Wheezy, prepare for a dog show. Using her previous pageant skills, she is determined. When meeting a judge in the dog show, Spencer the veterinarian, he informs her that there is no way Wheezy can win. Ruby is more determined than ever to prove him wrong.

The banter was hilarious, sweet and a quick read. I loved this slow-burn, opposites attract, rom-com with swoon worthy characters and emotional moments.

I went into this one not k owing what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised by how delighted I was while reading it. It definitely out the “com” in romcom, and had me laughing out loud too many times to count. I loved the strong female lead and the setting of a dog show competition. Pacing was great and the banter was top-notch. The tension between the two main characters built up perfectly.

This was a really cute and fluffy book and I liked it! I'd give it 3.5⭐️ because I am a sucker for a broody hero and a stubborn/strong heroine! Also am loving these feisty retirement home ladies as side characters and the group in this book with their erotica book club was a hoot. The relationship was good but I wanted more from all the side stories! All of the side characters had just enough detail to leave me with questions and wondering what happened but maybe the hero's twin will get a book and we'll get some of those answers!

This book was a total delight. I’m such a sucker for romcoms and when you add dogs I’m sold. I was expecting this book to be a lot lighter than it was and I definitely wasn’t expecting to relate to Ruby. The side characters were also well written and really likable. There’s even a little bit of spice that I wasn’t expecting.

Lucy Gilmore did a great job of implementing the importance of standing up for oneself, family, and personal growth. This was an adorable read, 4.5 stars!

This one was okay but not for me. It was a bit too cutesy for my taste and the author's voice just didn't resonate with me. It felt too forced and contrived.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I hate you more is an enemies to lovers romcom written by Lucy Gilmore, and it tells us the story of Ruby and Spencer. We have Ruby, who’s a former pageant queen, and now works as a nursing assistant. When one of her patients, Mr. Orson asks her to sign up her dog, Wheezy, in the West Coast Canine Classic. Ruby can’t say no to Mr. Orson’s last dying wish and agrees to enter the golden retriever in the contest. While trying to sign up Wheezy in the contest, she ends up having an encounter with man who thinks Wheezy does not have a chance to win. Little did she know that was Spencer, a veterinarian who happens to be one of the judges of West Coast Canine Classic. And it is thanks to her experience in beauty contests that she believes she can prove him wrong. Ruby and Spencer’s relationship was so fun to read, their banter is amazing.

I hate you more is the perfect book for those who want to read a book filled with comedy, romance and puppy-content.

This book was the absolute sweetest enemies to lovers, and had such swoon-worthy romance. The characters were so lovable, and of course, lots of dog content, which I absolutely loved!! Genuinely one of the cutest books I've read! 5/5

Meh, this one was just okay. Not a lot of excitement, too much about pageantry which I didn’t vibe with, or know anything about. And the romance was just okay. The book opens with the male interest teasing her so, that’s a downside.

This was a fairly mediocre romance to me. A former beauty queen who is a nursing assistant at a retirement home is asked by a favorite patient to enter her dog into a dog show. The dog is not at all up to shape for a show and doesn't even attempt to be trained. The pageantry plot parts didn't intrigue me and overall the plot fell flat for me.

Ruby, a former beauty Queen who now works as a nursing assistant in an old folks home, gets asked to enter one of the residents dogs into a dog show. There she meets the stern, no nonsense Spencer, and despite their opposite dispositions, sparks fly

This was such a cute rom com that had me feeling all the feels!

I Hate You More was a fun little rom-com that combines an unlikely trio of a former beauty pageant queen turned nursing home aide, a kind of uptight veterinarian judging a dog show and perhaps the best of all - an overweight golden retriever named Wheezy. While not life-changing literature - if you love hallmark movies and a little bit of steam you’ll adore the relationship that builds between Ruby & Spencer. If anything, Ruby’s determination as the female protagonist and Wheezy’s endearing antics make this a light, easy palate cleanser!

Rom coms are my weaknesses and so quick and easy to read, that's what I love about them. I Hate You More was a delightful read.

Former pageant queen, Ruby, a gorgeous nursing assistant that works in a retirement home, agrees to enter one of the residents dog, Wheezy, into The dog show. Wheezy is an untrained overweight dog with little interest in cooperating with Ruby. When Spencer, one of the judges of said dog show, faults Ruby on a technicality he makes it almost impossible for Ruby to enter her dog. But, Ruby won't take no for an answers.

Reluctantly agreeing, Spencer allows Ruby to enter Wheezy into the show on two conditions, she needs to get the dog trained and lose weight. Hiring the help of his twin brother Caleb, Ruby insists that Wheezy will be the finest boy in the show even vowing Wheezy will win. Of course, that would be a lot easier if Wheezy liked Ruby. Or was willing to listen to a single command given.

Spencer is grumpy and a stickler for the rules, but his feelings for Ruby. However, Ruby will not be treated as some pretty doll and needs to make sure that Spencer does not see her as another pretty face and he needs to make sure that Ruby prefers him over his twin brother Caleb.

The book is just cute. Wheezy is a hot mess and I loved him. Ruby is an amazing person and I really connected with her. She feels as if she has nothing more to offer than a pretty face. But her determination is what provesthwre is more to her than meets the eye. Spencer is, well if I'm being honest Dry and boring. I did not connect with him at all but I could see why Ruby was drawn to him because he didn't throw himself at her like most men do.

If you like dogs and romcoms, and some.spicy scenes this is definitely one For you
