I am loving this series and we are back with Hunter and Kate. This couple has not had a easy road to a relationship. They went to the same college but he was quiet and hard to read. Kate always thought he didn't like her but with a strange twist of fate they become friends. As the year comes to an end a celebratory party ignites a spark and hidden attraction for both of them. They have one night and then Hunter leaves and Kate is left wondering what the hell happened. It is now a few years later and out of the blue Hunter calls her. She is now an attorney and sports agent who is up and coming and has started taking on high profile clients. Hunter has found himself in a situation. His agent is off due to illness and he is up to negotiate his hockey contract. He places the call to the one person he has never forgotten and trusts more than anything. One meeting that is all he wants and when they finally come face to face they each know that the sizzle is still there. This story covers a lot of ground with their lost friendship, forgotten love and buried memories of a tragic accident that still haunt Hunter. I loved watching them discover one another again and fall all over again.

When Hunter gets the devastating news that the agent who has been there since he started playing hockey professionally is ill, he knows he needs a new agent to help him maneuver his current contract negotiations. The one and only person to come to mind is the woman he was not only friends with in college, but that he also spent one steamy evening with until he left her with nothing more than a note.

Hockey has always played a huge role in Kate’s life as she transitioned from a college player to agent. Due to their past the last person she expected to want to hire her is Hunter but she also realizes it could springboard her career to a new level.

The chemistry and connection between Hunter and Kate is stronger than ever but for Hunter to have the future he deserves both personally and professionally he must first deal with the past that continues to haunt him.

This is my first book in the Bears Hockey series and I am hooked on this sports romance!

Hunter and Kate have chemistry that is out of this world! I liked that they had a history of both being college hockey athletes. Hunter is an especially sympathetic character because he experienced trauma in his past that he fights every day to get better. I also liked that Kate is a professional in a male dominated field, hockey and being a sports agent.

I missed that there wasn’t as much hockey/sports action in this book, but the interesting characters make up for it.

This book is the third in a series, but it can definitely be read as a stand-alone.

Having read Game Changer, I thought this hockey story was from the same series. It is not. This one is from the Bears hockey series. But it is no problem if you haven't read the other parts. Whereas Firecracker and Game Changer are full of hilarious dialogues and situations, Kelly has a bit more serious topics woven into this story.
Hunter has PTSD as a result from a very serious car crash with his hockey team on a bus. Several teammates have died or had serious injuries. And although he wasn't physically harmed, the accident has caused him severe mental trauma's. But Hunter has come a long way since then. When he is on the brink of a breakthrough his manager has a stroke. So he needs a new manager ASAP. And the only name that comes to mind is his high school best friend Kate.
Kate can't believe it, when after six years, out of the blue Hunter calls her and asks her to be his manager. Since she has just started her own business, she could really use a high profile client like Hunter. But is she willing to sign up the guy who she wash crushing on during high school and who left her without a backwards glance all those years ago? While Kate and Hunter reunite, they learn more about their different pasts. And about the fact that they both secretly where crushing on each other, but where afraid to show it, out of fear of wrecking their friendship.
But while exploring their romance, Kate also needs to get Hunter signed up with one of the big teams. However, mixing up business and pleasure may be a bit more difficult than suspected. So, maybe Kate needs to chose between her job and her love life.
A wonderful read, where Kelly does an excellent job in combining more serious subjects like PTSD and phobias with hilarious banter and cute situations. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

With my team out of the playoffs, this book came at the perfect time and did not let me down! Loved every minute of this story! 5 amazing hockey stars for this one!

Hunter is about to be an Unrestricted Free Agent, and just found out his agent has had a heart attack and will be out for a while. While he feels bad for him he has to worry about his career, and getting a long term contract with big money this time, he's tired of the one year contracts he's been getting but he wants to stay with his current team. Who can he trust to take over and get him what he truly wants with his next contract?

Kate has branched out on her own as a sport's agent after her former employer basically said she wasn't good enough for the job. She was able to take a few of her clients with her, but she needs some big players to sign with her to show that she can do it. When Hunter reaches out to her, it brings back memories and feelings from their college days and Cancun. Can she keep it strictly personal between them or will they cross the line?

I really enjoyed this story! Kelly took on mental health in this sport, and the hardships these players faced to come to grips with their health and rocked it! Grab this one today!

Their undeniable attraction is sure to please! With the third book in her always exciting Bears Hockey series Kelly Jamieson brings us a reunion story showcasing the one that got away. The characters where attention grabbing and while I didn’t find the overall story as enthralling as the first two in the series, the tension was high and the happily ever after was very satisfying.

Hunter easily finds a place in the reader’s heart once his past is revealed and his love of the game and good-heartedness solidly keeps him there throughout the story.

Kate is independent and a real go-getter with a solid heart underneath her tough gal persona. I enjoyed getting to know her very much.

I recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who enjoys a hockey story filled with romance and a close-knit group of friends and teammates who make for a powerful story.

I loved the storyline. It's a good story even though it's a bit slow at the start for me. I loved that Hunter's character is different from any other hockey players. I loved Kate's strong and badass character. I really enjoyed this one just like the previous books.

Hunter hires Kate to represent him during his upcoming hockey negotiations, but the sparks fly the longer they are together. These two characters challenged each other, and fought the odds to make their dreams come true. I loved the way Kelly showed Kate as a strong, independent female working in a male dominated field.

The very last person in the world Kate expected to call her requesting representation is Hunter, her friend and one night from college. She literally has not heard a word from him in years, and now he wants her to be his new agent now that his current agent has suffered a heart attack?! Hmm...

Kate is the first person who pops into Hunter's mind when he's facing UFA without an agent. Though he's unsure of whether she'll even agree to meet with him considering how he left her all those years ago, he still has to give it a try and call her. Will she agree to represent him? What about those pesky feelings they had for each other once upon a time? Are they still there?

That same accident that haunted Easton and Josh in Must Love Dogs and You Had Me at Hockey is front and center in Hunter's mind and in his story. Though it affects him differently than his friends, it's still the driving force in shaping who Hunter has become since then. It closed him off in college, and hasn't really let go of him in his adulthood. Thank God he has Kate in his present, because she's amazing, for him, to him, in a professional and a personal sense. She's my favorite part of this story, a strong woman in a male dominated industry, who does not let it get her down, stands strong in her knowledge of her industry, stands strong for those she loves. Hunter is damn lucky to have her, and I was glad to read that he realized it, even if that realization sort of came a little too far into the story. Talk Hockey to Me is another solid entry in this great hockey series - it's sweet, a little emotional, and sexy to boot. Can't wait for more Bears Hockey!

This is my favorite of the Bears Hockey series. I took and instant liking to both Hunter and Kate and really loved the backstory into how they met and became friends in college. I also greatly appreciate the caring and informative way the author treated the subject of anxiety and phobias.
While the romance itself may seem like it was a tad slow, I think Ms. Jamieson set a great pace for the story to unfold before rushing them to the bedroom, especially considering their working relationship!
I love Kate and the fact that her career is in what most would consider a male-dominated field. It’s great when authors help break that glass ceiling in print as well as it being done in the real world. While there isn’t a lot of hockey being played in this story, it’s my favorite sport to read about. I also like that Hunter is just a great guy…not a swaggering playboy. Those are fun to read as well, but it’s a nice change of pace to not have the H chasing puck bunnies!
Very enjoyable book that can read alone without having read the previous books in the series.

Ok people... This book just grabbed me and didn't let me go until I got to the end, then I cried for more!! Kelly Jamieson has a way with her writing that keeps you begging for more. I love the fact that she brings a real-life event that struck the hockey world to light. This book in a fictional way shows how one member of a tragic bus accident actually moves forward and makes the NHL. It follows his rocky return. While this book does not focus on the game, it shows the background business of the NHL with an agent trying to get her client's new contracts. I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH!!!

Hunter and Kate do not have an easy time with their relationship since they have a past and lots of what they went through could have been clarified if they had only communicated. Lots of the angst and drama has to do with their past issues. I liked seeing them in their present elements however and the chemistry was palpable. The story has it's humor as well which balances it out nicely.

4.5 Stars!

Talk Hockey to Me is the third book from Kelly Jamieson's Bears Hockey series. It is well-written story, with two main characters that I could not get enough of. It is an emotional read at times, so you may want to have a tissue handy.

Kate is a hockey bratt. She excelled as a player throughout childhood and college, and now she is using her knowledge as an agent. She is slowly building her client base as an independent, after working for a sexist pig for a year. She is a good agent and truly cares about her clients.

Hunter is a talented, professional hockey player. Due to a horrific tragedy, he took some time away from the game to regroup. Now he is a free agent and seeks a more lucrative contract. Hunter and Kate share some history, which they both have continued to think about over the years. With Hunter's agent out of commission for a while, he hires Kate. Overtime, their professional relationship evolves into lust, love and discovery.

I liked this very steamy story. Getting to know both Kate and Hunter was both fun and heartbreaking. Hunter's ability to use his sad past to create a wonderful future was amazing. Overall, a sexy read that can be enjoyed as a standalone.

I love Kelly Jamieson’s books. She is definitely an author that I don’t even read the blurb anymore and just one click! She never disappoints! And getting Hunter’s book was worth the wait.

Hunter & Kate’s story had everything that I love in a great romance! From the first page, I was hooked in and couldn’t stop reading.

I found Hunter to be beyond swoon worthy & I loved Kate’s strength. Together they had challenged and brought out the best in each other. I just adored them.

I can’t wait to see what adventures Kelly Jamieson comes up with next!

I have read quite a-lot of Kelly’s books, but obviously not all as this is my first one in the Bears series. So I can definitely say that this book reads as a stand-alone, but it has certainly made me want to read the first two books now.
I liked how Kelly wrote Kate & Hunters backstory into the book. It made their actions and words towards each other in the present make so much more sense. And I honestly felt I was rooting for them to make it work even harder knowing that timing wasn’t on their side back in their college years.
This book touched on a sensitive topic and I applaud Kelly for writing about this and not necessarily normalizing it, but making some readers more aware.

I have enjoyed the first two books in this series, but Hunter and Kate had a special something that made me root for them from the beginning. Mental health issues are rarely talked about in books and Ms. Jamieson did a wonderful job with bringing PTSD to the forefront in this book. Hunter really did steal my heart early on and I wanted to reach through my reader and give him a hug.

The fact that they knew each other in college helped me root for them early on. It was clear that they both wanted to be more than friends in college, but life got in the way. Years later, they still want to be more, but are sure to admit it. No cheating is always a plus for me and the fact that even when they were at odds they both acted as adults was refreshing.

I liked how the three people that survived the same crash had differing views of feeling abandoned but didn’t fault the other ones for taking care of themselves. A good Hockey romance is always a good read, but as the complexity of Hunter’s issues and Kate’s career and you have gold.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.

Talk Hockey to Me is the third book in the Bears Hockey series. Granted, not a lot of time is spent with the Bears, but there is reason for that. And time with that particular team or not, this one is my favorite in the series. It's a second chance romance, and there's a lot of focus on mental health, fears, and doing what's best for those we love even when it may not be what's easiest. I love that Hunter and Kate are on the same page as far as the relationship goes - that's not to say we don't get any angst, but I'm not going any further with that (no spoilers here). I guess my favorite thing about this book is that it has it all, and it's all timed perfectly. Basically, it's a terrific mix of sexy, sweet, serious, and funny, and it was just so easy to get caught up in this couple. Talk Hockey to Me is one more reason why Kelly Jamieson is on my list of favorite romance authors, and if you haven't read her yet all I can say is what are you waiting for?!

I loved the relationship between Hunter and Kate. They both have their trails but are able to rely on each other for support. They’re great for one another.

Hockey, second chance, sports agent, player, taboo relationship, a female in a “man’s” world

Talk Hockey to Me is third book in the Bears Hockey series by author Kelly Jamieson. Even though this book can be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading the first two books in the series:
Book 1: Must Love Dogs...and Hockey
Book 2: You Had Me at Hockey

"That's what life is. A bunch of little moments, all strung together to make up bigger moments...a life. We need to appreciate every one of those moments."

Kate Bridges is not a stranger to the world of hockey. Her father, Joe Bridges, was the assistant GM of the Chicago Aces while she was growing up. She has always loved the sport, and even played hockey while she was attending Bayard College. She took that love of hockey and decided to become a sports agent. Kate has a few clients, but she is hoping to expand that client list soon. Needless to say, she is caught completely off-guard when she receives a phone call from Hunter Morrisette. Hunter's agent, Vern, has suffered a heart attack and he wants Kate to represent him. Memories of Hunter come flooding back...memories of one night in Cancun that led to drunken sex and Hunter leaving without ever saying goodbye.

Hunter Morrisette is at a critical time in his hockey career...he is about to become an unrestricted free agent. He is tired of the one year contracts and is hoping to get signed to a team that will offer him more stability. However, life often throws unexpected twists, and Hunter has just found out his agent, Vern, has suffered a heart attack. Vern has been representing him since college, and helped Hunter get his start in the NHL. There are plenty of agents he could call, but there is only one he wants to hire...Kate Bridges.

Kate and Hunter first met when they were both freshman at Bayard College, and over time, became very close friends. Kate is the one person that Hunter was always able to open up to...especially about the Swift Current Warriors bus crash. The crash took the lives of nine of his teammates, as well as the coaching staff. It was also the day he lost touch with his best friends...Easton Millar and Josh Heller.

As the story unfolds, the depth of PTSD that Hunter suffers from is revealed, and Kate does her best to help him through it. However, when a contract offer is on the table...an offer giving Hunter everything he asked for...he refuses to even consider it. Initially, Kate does not understand why, but eventually the puzzle pieces come together and Kate is left with making a choice.

Overall, this was another great addition to the Bears Hockey series. I love the fact that Kelly Jamieson used this story to focus on mental health and the stigma attached to it...especially when it comes to athletes. I have to say a big 'thank you' to Kelly Jamieson for bringing attention to this difficult topic. Even though this book is about hockey, I truly enjoyed the behind the scenes look into the contract side of things.

In closing, I just want to say that the reason I chose the quote at the beginning is because I felt it was relevant to both Kate and Hunter. Life truly is a bunch of little moments, strung together to make up bigger moments. We all have good and bad moments throughout our lives, but those moments make us who we are. Kate and Hunter had a lot of those little moments...and some missed opportunities for various reasons...but those moments all come together in the end...and give the story of life.

I would like to thank Kelly Jamieson and NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read and review an ARC of Talk Hockey to Me. My views are my own, and are in no way influenced by anyone else.

Outstanding book! I have read many sports-based romance novels, and "Talk Hockey to Me" is definitely one of my favorites. This is not a garden variety sports romance. The main characters, Hunter and Kate, have very "current events" sorts of issues that affect their lives - not just work and "boy meets girl" stuff, but things that are much more interesting and creative. Hunter and Kate are people that I think I would like to meet if they were real humans instead of book characters. This is always important to me, even in a book that is set in a time/place/world I might not realistically find myself moving in. I particularly enjoyed reading how Kate navigated the her work world of sports management. I thought her issues, problems, and solutions were very realistic, and had me cheering for her success all the way.

The plot of this novel kept me engaged and guessing all the way to the conclusion. I will definitely be rereading this book to catch all the bits I missed the first time through.
