I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Almondine Grows Up is the second book in this beautiful and quirky story about a tiny girl born from an almond shell.
In this installment we follow Almondine upon her adventures linking to book one when she left Alma (her human mummy), and explaines what happened to her, where she went, who she met and how she transformed into what she has become (metamorphosis).
We meet some fantastic characters in this book and it gave me a few giggles at times too (especially Tosca and her accidents).
This series has endeared itself to my heart and I hope one day to own all three books in paperback to share with my children and my grandchild. These books truly are beautiful.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The second book in Almondine's series, in the first book she is a baby whom the little Alma found in the almond tree and then brought her home to raise her as her own baby.

In this book, we discover what happened to Almondine when Alma left her in the garden so she could have her own little house and be more free and independent as Almondine wanted to be. However, our little heroine will live some misadventures that will make her understand that not all the creatures are so harmless outside her home as she so naively believed . Also, she will be making new friends from a lost little mouse and a pessimistic toad to a scary pigeon that Almondine will help them all into getting back to their own homes or finding their courage.

It is a beautiful and charming story about love, selflessness, friendship, courage, parenting and so much more. The book is stunning with such amazing illustrations that made this story so precious and agreeable to read.

It is the kind of book that as a kid you would have loved that your parents would have read and read it again to you and then, you would have cherished it so much and kept it until you grown up for you to pass it to another child that will do the same with it. This is how I feel about Almondine's books.

The second book in the series continues the adventures of Almondine but this time we can take part on the adventures the little creature had while she left the little house in the garden.
Although the period of puberty has passed with the main physical and mental changes, in adolescence, Almondine will still be able to notice some changes in her own body. Such changes confuse her and cause her to feel complexed by a certain aspect of her body (when she noticed the roots growing or the leaves and even the small flower on top of her head; how she reacts when living with the family of mice and she does not have no natural light, etc.). Through this story, the book prepares a future adolescent to better handle some life changing situations related not only to his/her physical aspect but as well different social relationships that might change their way of reacting and might cause some frustrating moments.
I definitely enjoyed the continuation of the series.

Almondine growing big daily, each day she found new changing on her body and mind. Although her "mom" Alma tc and protect her but she start dreaming to found out a world outside her home.

Well, this book written beautifully and mesmerized me since page one. It is offer some gentle reminder about how excite and confusing to grow become teenager. How rebel and curious we are about everything. This book teach young reader about metamorphosis process, friendship, think out of the box, and how we must found our inner peace and accept our self to grow.

I really enjoying reading this books, thank you for the chance.
