Sweet idea, I thought it was going somewhere else though. I had issues with the flow of the words, found it a bit tricky at times. The illustrations are cute though ❤️

The rhymes in this book are good and funny, as are the illustrations. I think most people of any age can empathize with the intense desire for a pet. I'm hoping there is a sequel about the boy and the dog he eventually gets.

The ARC of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
A lovely light short poem book. I believe it's a great introductory level for kids or just about anyone who's looking to get into poetry, or simply just enjoys the cute illustrations. But also, a cute humorous read for just about anyone who wants a quick read, almost reminds me of my childhood when I was desperate to have a pet like our main protagonist here hehe.

This is a hilarious story about a young boy who just wants a dog but keeps making the wrong choices! It will give you many giggles from start to finish and you won’t regret it! I highly recommend this book to be added to your bookshelf!

This picture book followed a boy who wants a dog but whose parents won't let him get one. He has an eventful couple of days and discovers some other critters, but it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I wish this book had more to do with dogs, I also was expecting a different ending, especially for a book that was titled the way this book is - I feel like the title sets up certain expectations that are not met with this book. There was also a whole section where the main character went to the doctor that I found a little odd. The art style of this is also one that I'm not as much of a fan of, though other readers may enjoy this style.

It's a short story about a little boy who wants to have his own dog. The fun unfolds eventually which will definitely leave you in a happy mood. The poetic format of the book gives it a unique touch making it even more interesting.
Quite a funny read.

Aah, what a lovely short read it was!
I remember, when I was a kid I used to keep asking my parents for a dog but they'd never agree to it. I'm so glad that the little boy got his "dog" at last and in it he found his beautiful smile!!

This picture book follows a boy who wants nothing more than a dog to cheer him up after a couple of long, hard, no-good days. I liked the full-page color illustrations, though the art style was not my personal taste. It seemed a bit inconsistent at times. I liked the cadence of the rhyme and the humorous situations the boy got himself into. After all that happened, he really does deserve a dog!

Well, Monday was a blurry fuzz;
It left me in a fog.
Sore and sad, I asked my dad,
"Could I please have a dog?"
This humorous delightful book will have kids and adults laughing. It is written in beautiful rhyme by poet Marshall Silverman and the illustrations are colourful and full of wit and fun.
A boy thinks his world will be set right if only he has a dog to share it with. He tries to convince his parents to say yes to his request but alas they decline even after the boy researches all the reasons that a dog is all he needs to fulfill his dream and make him happy.
This book is a perfect read aloud and the ending is quite the surprise. Kids will love it and want to read it again and again. I highly recommend it.

A delightful children's book about a boy who longs for a dog and the efforts he takes to convince his parents for the same.
It's more like a long poem and it rhymes beautifully.
The illustrations are nice and colourful but the ending left my little one wondering (not an ending which we would have imagined.)
This book is out and available on Amazon!!
Thank you Netgalley and Warren publishing for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

The texts are in rhyme and funny..

This book was great! It was a nice quick read and the rhyming was enjoyable. Everyone has experienced the challenges that this kid is facing, and the author did it in a very entertaining way. Enjoyable for all ages.

I would totally buy this book for kids. As an adult, I appreciated the poetry, enjoyed the illustrations and the story was a delight to read. I actually laughed out loud a couple of times. This is a children's book to be enjoyed as entertainment. This isn't a 'lesson based' book. Well, the parents in the story hopefully learn a lesson! Ha! I just think this is a really fun story that would be great to read over and over with children.

Very nice way to introduce a child to rhymes and poetry! Fun to read out, for both parents and children, with clever rhymes that aren't too hard for a kid to understand. And most children like dogs!

A cute little book for young readers that are quick to grasp their phonics. It's not aimed at absolute beginners as there are some trickier words within the text such as 'subdued' and 'finesse' but it increases the vocabulary of children with a greater grasp of language.
The pictures are simple yet colourful and worked well with the text. I really enjoyed how the whole book was written in rhyming couplets although there were a few occasions where the rhythm dipped and threw me off track.
The plot was comical covering two days of devising a plan as to how to acquire a dog, and the outcome was certainly an interesting one.
Young boys and girls up to the age of 7 would probably enjoy the humour of this story. For this reason, I award it 4/5 with a mark deduction purely down to the break in rhythm.

A cute little book that I think me and my daughter both enjoyed as much as each other!
Cute, snappy rhyming verses which I always love to read as I find they keep they attention of children. The storyline was great, and the illustrations were really cute too!

A cute and delightful book about a boy who badly wants a dog, only that things don't go his way... I really enjoyed the rhymes and the vibrant illustrations. More importantly, I like how the book sends out a positive message about responsible pet ownership e.g. the boy does research about dogs and his parents do not impulsively cater to his desires. Would have preferred a more resolute ending, but overall this was a fun read!

This is a fun book and a delight for all the kids who love dogs and beg parents to have one.
It's a quick read and entertains the little readers for sure.
The illustrations are vivid and beautiful.

A funny little book, in poetry form and with illustrations, about a young boy who tries to convince his parents to get a dog, and the trouble he gets while doing it. It's quite easy to read, the rhymes are funny, the story is cute, and the colours really pop. I generally like the illustrations, although they can look a bit too simple or messy at times. That said, this feels like the perfect bedtime story for a kid looking for something funny to read.
