This Book is for You, is a wonderful companion to those of us who love the Word of God or want to love the Word of God. This Book is for You is filled with personal experiences and insight from the author, while encouraging the reader to examine where they are with their relationship with the Word of God, and then how to get onwards from there. This was a quick and easy read, which I appreciated too.

THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU is a great book that strengthens the readers understanding of God's Word and relationship with a loving God. Williford took a conversational tone which draws the reader into a relaxed, yet intriguing experience. With scripture references and life application, Williford points to the Bible instead of attempting to write independent of it. There is encouragement for anyone who wants to get into the Word of God and apply it to their daily life.

Very easy to read with relatable personal experiences, THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU challenges the reader through exercises to learn scripture verses. She ties the whole Bible, both Old and New Testament, in such a way that readers can easily understand the Word of God.

The Bible is not an end in itself, but rather a big story that brings us to God, introducing us to his heart and reassuring us that he’s not far away at all. So, if you are one of those readers who has convinced herself that the Bible is only for varsity-level Christians, or if your only exposure has been chopped-up, cherry-picked stories, take heart because understanding the big picture changes everything.

In This Book Is for You, Tricia Lott Williford argues that the Old and New Testaments do their best work together, that the Bible is one big story of redemption with everything before Christ pointing to his coming and everything post-resurrection confirming his impact on our lives. With a few clarifying principles and a strong undercurrent of memoir, Tricia blazes a trail for women who want to become confident students of God’s Word—even when life crowds in and causes us to doubt our discipleship. Never does she arrogate to herself the role of “Bible expert.” The voice that comes through is from a faithful traveling companion on the road of “long obedience.”

Perhaps my favorite feature of the book is Tricia’s advocacy for the humble 3×5 card for carrying around meaningful verses to meditate on in the blur of real life. Truth is big enough to change your life and small enough to fit in your back pocket. The Bible is for everyone. God is for everyone, and you can know God through his Word.

Y'all know that I love Tricia Lott Williford's books, I listen to her podcast, in my mind, we would be the best of neighbors if we knew each other and lived next door to each other. This book is written for her friends, especially her friends who want to fall in love with the Bible but don't know where to begin. So if that sounds like something that you could use some help with, this is the book for you.

This Book Is for You is not a step-by-step how to read the Bible in 365 days and get the most out of it type of book, it's more like a dating guide for the best book you'll ever read. Trisha goes through several different struggles that she had as she fell in love with Bible and what she discovered from those struggles. Overall, it's a quick read that will get you started on your own journey of loving the Bible. My favorite part was probably right at the end, where she gives a list of fifteen things to know as you navigate the bible. All fifteen are great and are often taken for granted by people that grew up reading the Bible or who have been reading it for years. This book is perfectly summed up by Tricia in the Epilogue, "Consider this to be simply one of the lights on the floor aisle of the movie theater or the airplane, a lamp strategically placed to point you to the greater path to safety."

I received a copy of this book for the purpose of review from NetGalley. I'm never required to say nice things but I'm always thankful when I can.

Tricia loves the Lord. And His Word. She didn't always appreciate the latter and this book sets out to share how she helped change her mindset about the wonders and joys of being continually in the Word.

Tricia has a lovely relaxed voice which makes this an easy read. Often, I felt I was sitting opposite Tricia yarning about our favourite aspects of the Bible. Each chapter is short and there's no deep theology, simply practical down-to-earth nuts and bolts encouragement about why reading the Word will change one's life and love affair with Jesus.

Each chapter ends with a practical section. I thought this could have been a little more comprehensive and wonder if there's opportunity for Tricia to build upon this small book with a practical bible study style book that helps readers to follow a similar path in diving into particular books of the Bible.

It's never to late to fall in love with God's Word and this book will go a little way to help fuel such a desire.

Recommended.

I received an early ebook copy from the publisher via NetGalley with no expectation of a positive review.

In the book This Book Is For You, author Tricia Lott Williford, writes about the life change which the Bible can bring to your life. Williford writes the from the pain of suddenly becoming a widow with small children and the real struggles of life. She writes, “We want Jesus’ to work in the ways we expect him to, in a way that makes logical, mathematical sense. Like in Jesus’ parable of the vineyard workers, he tells a story of those who believed their reward was due to them because they had served longer, worked harder, been more faithful. But it’s God’s choice to do what he wants with the power and sovereignty that he has.”
Williford is not a theologian, and it shows in some of her statements. But she writes from a heart of loving God and His Word. I would recommend this book. I received a copy of this e-book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I loved Williford's earlier book "Just You Wait" and this didn't disappoint either. Always honest, frequently funny, and very thought-provoking, Williford invites readers to sit down and admit their struggles with reading the Bible. Then she shows a new way forward where they see the unexpected treasures the Bible has to offer.
