I’m mixed on this, I loved Neon, I love these stories, but I just really didn’t like Oakley , also I thought bits of the story weren’t quite believable (to the character obviously I know it’s fictional) so 3 stars if I’d liked Oakley probably a 4

Neon! Love a hot nerdy guy! This book was just about perfect. Nerd meets the tough racer girl. Things get explosive pretty quick. Neon and his brothers offer to help Oakley stay safe from a rival MC. So many twists and turns in this one including a potential new baddy for them to try and keep under control.

Always great to read this author. You never know quite what to expect from just the book description alone.

Looking forward to the next one!

If you like MC books this is a good one. I enjoy a good one in between my supernatural and solider ones. When Oakley flees from 1 MC after years of abuse, she runs straight into the arms of Neon. The problem is his MC is the enemy of the one she ran from. When Rage, the president of the rival motorcycle gang finds her, he threatens punishment. How can she protect herself?

I was really looking forward to this one. The premise sounded great and I've enjoyed the rest of the series so far. But something fell short for me. I was just left hanging for a lot of the book. I enjoyed the protagonist - they were both good, but nothing that wowed me. I enjoyed the romance a lot. I think it was one of my favourite things about this book, but everything else just didn't hit the spot. There wasn't anything that I really disliked per-say, it just didn't hit the mark. But I am looking forward to more in this world.

honestly thought I was prepared to read this book. Turns out I wasn't ready for the five million twists and turns in this book. Neon and Oakly's book was amazing and unpredictable at the same time. I really can't wait to see what happens next in this series.

Oakley finds herself in trouble and Neon feels drawn to help. As a member of Houston's Defiance Motorcycle Club, he is putting the club at risk when he goes against another club to keep her safe. There could definitely be triggering issues for those with a history of abuse. I think this book could be read alone but readers would understand more about the characters if the books were read in order.

This is book 4 but I didn't know that when I started reading this book. You don't need to read the previous books.

I very much enjoyed this one. It's well written and it didn't take me long to read it because I just didn't want to put it down.

Impulsive is the fourth title in The Houston Defiance series, and I’d highly recommend reading the previous books before diving into Neon and Oakley’s story.
Neon is an intuitive, intelligent, loyal, and big-hearted hero. He’s a bit of a nerd, and the computer and tech guru for the club.
Oakley is a sassy, stubborn, brave, and independent woman who will do anything for family, but in doing so makes some questionable life choices.
The connection between this pair is immediate and undeniable. This pair have quite a few obstacles in their way to find a happy ever after and their story is packed full of action, drama, suspense and surprising twists and turns.
I look forward to future additions to the series.

4.25 stars-- IMPULSIVE is the fourth instalment in KE Osborn’s contemporary, adult HOUSTON DEFIANCE MC erotic, MC romance series focusing on the men and women of the Houston Defiance MC. This is motorcycle drag racer Nicolette Oakley, and Houston Defiance IT specialist Asher ‘Neon’ Creed’s story line. IMPULSIVE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommended reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as many of the events of IMPULSIVE are as of a direct result of events from previous story lines.

WARNING: Due to the graphic nature of the story line premise including violence, torture, assault, and emotional and psychological illness there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from three first person perspectives (Oakley, Neon, Zero) IMPULSIVE follows motorcycle drag racer Nicolette Oakley on the run from the Heathens of Hatred MC. Four years earlier Nicolette was desperate to help her father found herself ‘bound’ to the president of the Heathens MC. Fast forward to present day wherein Nicolette has something the Heathens want but a day at the track finds our heroine under the protection of the Houston Defiance MC. As Neon pledges to protect both the club and Oakley, Zero suspects a mole in the midst when every move is countered by the Heathens MC. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Neon and Oakley, and the potential fall-out as Oakley’s past is threatening the lives of the Houston Defiance MC.

Meanwhile, Neon’s troubled sister, and Zero’s former fiancée Anna Creed returns to the fold, needing help escaping a former boyfriend but Anna’s life continues to spiral out of control, as she begins to target Neon and Oakley’s relationship in an attempt to keep Neon all to herself.

The relationship between Oakley and Neon is one of immediate attraction but Neon knows that to bring Oakley under the protection of the Houston Defiance MC could quite possible start another war with the Heathens MC but with Anna’s return to the Club, trouble begins to brew between Neon and Oakley, and Oakley refuses to become the target of a psychotic young woman. As Oakley and Neon’s relationship continues to build, behind the scenes, someone else is helping to destroy them all. A lack of trust begins to destroy Oakley’s relationship with our story line hero, mistrust fuelled by betrayal, obsession , secrets and lies. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Zero and Cherry, Wraith and Prinie, Chains and Chill, Slick, Kevlar and Sunshine, Texas, Phantom , Ax, Koda; attorney Finley Knight, Neon’s sister Anna Creed, Constance Squires aka the Baroness; Heathens of Hatred MC president Rage and Hash ; Serbian Triglav Clan member and Wraith’s brother Damir; Slavers Syndicate member River.

IMPULSIVE is a story of family and relationships, power and trust, secrets, lies, betrayal, obsession and revenge. The premise is gritty and haunting; the romance is seductive and edgy; the characters are spirited and energetic.

“Tech”nically a Winner!!

I never knew techies could be so hot but I guess when it comes to MC’s, whose not?! Neon was the best at his job and he made sure that his brothers were safe in everything they did. They had enemies out there namely the Heathens MC who were beyond evil. Oakley had at one time been with the Heathens and had finally found a way out but that way out may cost her her life as well as those around her. She was an expert when it came to the racing bikes on the circuit and that’s when Neon had met her. When push came to shove it was Neon who stood up to protect Oakley and that’s when things go crazy.

This book was full of many twists and turns, love and loyalty, blackmail and plenty of steam. As I read every book in this series it becomes my new favorite so with that being said I cannot wait to see what comes next for the men and women in the Houston Defiance MC. Every one of them have been 5* reads for me.

Move over alpha-holes… *singsong voice* hot nerd alert!

This is the fourth book in the Houston Defiance MC but I got to say it now, I truly recommend you read the previous books first before delving into this one. Not only will you get the entire world-building experience, you’ll see the different dynamics and relationships between not only the previous couples but with the brothers of the MC. There’s a ton of history especially between Neon and his President/ childhood best friend Zero and some of the issues that occur in this storyline is connected to their past. You won’t get the intensity and the magnitude of the problems they’ve gone (and still currently going through) just by reading this book alone. But for readers who haven’t read the previous books or not willing to read them prior to this one, you still get a rundown of each couple from previous stories.

Neon and Oakley are likable characters and there’s plenty of swoon-worthy moments between them. But like the previous couples in this series, they go through a rollercoaster of emotions and a handful of roadblocks throughout. Please note this story in particular contains sensitive subject matter that may be triggering for some readers such as violence, kidnapping, attempted rape, and mental and psychological disorders. Some scenes are detailed and graphic.

You can’t really have an MC story without having some drama thrown in, and this one was a constant drama-filled story where one thing after another happened. Its storytelling has great pacing and told from first person dual points of view. Neon is the tech whiz for the club and I loved seeing him finally have his story told, and for him to land the perfect girl for him. Putting aside the romance, this story opened doors for a few possible plotlines in upcoming books and I’m eager to see where the series is heading in the future.

There’s an amazing cast of secondary characters included, albeit most of them are MC brothers but they never fail at providing some light-hearted comic relief when needed. I adore the fact that there’s diversity within the leading characters as it can be rare to see in this type of atmosphere.

Whilst I found some predictability in the storyline, there’s still plenty of suspense and plot twists here and there. Overall, another superb addition to the Houston Defiance MC family! Not only do I recommend this book, I recommend the entire series. Every story and couple are different, dealing with their own issues, but throughout it all the brothers all have each other’s backs. Each one has a swoon-worthy hero, a heroine that catches their attention, and a story that’s dripping with suspense! As an MC romance reader, I can tell you now, it feeds one’s craving!

I was provided a copy and I voluntarily leave my honest review.

A MC insta-love romance!

This is Neon's story and he's the tech guy for the Houston Defiance MC. Oakley comes from a long line of motorcycle racers therefore it's in her blood. When Neon meets her a race, he becomes infatuated with her. When Oakley gets herself in trouble with a rival motorcycle club, Neon takes her back to Defiance's club house without realizing the full extent of the trouble she will bring to them.

Although I liked Neon and Oakley ... I just didn't love them. I found that Neon was way to gullible with his sister and was willing to put the club at risk when she proved it the past that she couldn't be trusted. And Oakley ... why would she stay involved with someone like Rage for so long? ... I just don't that it! But I did love how Oakley knocked the socks off Neon right from the first time they met.

I have mixed feelings about this one. Firstly, it was, as ever, a gripping and interesting read. That's what I've based my star rating on. But I do have a few issues with the couple, Neon and Oakley. It's not that they didn't work, they made a good couple. There was something that happens in this story that bothered me slightly, I don't want to give too much away so it's difficult to go into.
Without saying too much, there's something that Oakley does that upsets Neon. It turns out that it didn't happen quite the way that everyone assumes. That doesn't alter the fact that she did do it. Even so, she is upset with Neon's reaction and in the end, he talks about trying to make it up to her. I just didn't buy that.
I've said before about this series that the characters skirt the line between good and evil. That is the case here. I'm not sure what is going to happen with Neon's sister Anna. She's trouble, but I'm not sure that I'm convinced by what looks like is happening with her.
There were things that I wasn't completely convinced about, but I still enjoyed this read.

KE Osborn is the MC Romance Queen

This is Book 4 in the Houston Defiance Series and is the story of Neon & Oakley.
Neon is the club tech guy and Oakley is a female motorsport racing champion, who finds herself in trouble with a rival club. Neon, knowing her for all of 5 minutes can feel some form of connection and makes the rather impulsive decision to offer his help and protection.

Once again, wonderfully written and the dialogue between the cast of characters makes for some great banter and witty one liners. These characters really come to life on the page.

Excellent extension of this series. Loved all the action, suspense and of course the racing, love drag racing. Neon and Shiver are a good match and compliment each other. When her past comes back to haunt her, Neon and his club have her back. But Zero has a past coming back to haunt him as well. HEA.

Thank you NetGalley for the eARC. I would have bought it when it came out because I was reading this book at any and all costs. I love K E OSborn and every book she has written so far. This one did not disappoint whatsoever. I personally enjoy when a couple has to fight for their relationship. Too many books have the main characters meet and fall into bed within a day, no condom and someone is pregnant. I dont want to guess the outcome of my books I want to be surprised and K E Osborn gives me that. The books get so good I even have to stop and gather myself before I go on. I cannot wait for the next book! I also wonder if there would be a book from Anna POV, although mentally that might be hard to read and write. LOL.

DNF'ed at 14%.

I really wanted to like this and I really tried to get into it, but after several tries, I had to put this one down. The writing did not work for me and the insta-love between the MCs didn't feel genuine or real at all. I expected to love the heroine, but I found both MCs bland and one-dimensional.

I'm sure that this book is for someone. That someone is just not me.

This was a good read but I never warmed up to Oakley. She always looked after herself no matter who else was in danger.
Neon was a great combination of biker and nerd. LOL
I am looking forward to the next in the series.

Impulsive is actually a really good title for this book.

Impulsive - Neon, the resident tech guru, runs into a woman at the track that actually peaks his interest, but he doesn't officially meet her until later on. He's such a lovable nerd, but he can't catch a break.

Impulsive - Nic Oakley meets the Heathens one night in a bar and gets involved with their president, Rage. A chance meeting is the solution to her problems until it all falls a part.

I was really surprised on how much you get sucked into this story. I am not a fast reader, but there was so much action that you can't possibly stop. Just when you think there's going to be a break, WHAM! something else happens. In fact, there's so much going on this book, that I actually felt really bad for Houston Defiance. The past always has a way of catching up with you, and this is no different. As old friendships strengthen, new enemies are coming out of the woodworks to destroy the mc.

4*
Neon has finally turned things round with zero after Anna caused problems between them.
Oakley literally bumps into Neon after the club turn up to watch the racing.  The sizzle between them is hot and his protective streak comes out when a rival club makes a threat.
Little does the club know the enemy is closer than they think.
Nice story
