This series is an interesting take on a Santa themed Halloween. In the next book, will a culprit be another of Juniper's boyfriends?

I love this cozy mystery series. Book 2 is just as good as book one. This one combines pieces of my two favorite holidays: Halloween and Christmas. April Claus is settling into her role as Mrs. Claus and decides to bring the tradition of Halloween to the North Pole. Many of the elves embrace the tradition and go wild decorating and making costumes. There are other elves however, who think Christmas should be the only thing celebrated at the North Pole. I loved the element of Halloween added into the setting of the North Pole. Costumes, scary movies and pumpkins amidst snow and Christmas carols made this really fun. The part with the Reindeer cookies was very funny. Nice little mystery that was interesting enough to keep me turning the pages. Further description and story line of the abominable snow people was a good addition to the plot. Fun series! I look forward to reading book 3.

You'll never look at Mrs. Claus the same way again. Totally unique and fun to read, Mrs. Claus and the Halloween Homicide sweeps you into a murderous and original take on the North Pole. Holiday magic can be found on every page from elves to reindeer to jolly St. Nick himself. Liz Ireland delivers a cozy mystery that blends together the magic of the North Pole you know with the Mrs. Claus you've never met to create the perfect read to bring magic into your life at any time of the year. Ireland captures the world of the North Pole with such ease that you're immediately wishing for it to be real. The story has fun Christmas-themed references and names that are found throughout with the place names fitted to the location and phrases that bring the holiday magic full circle.

Enter Santaland where you'll find places such as the Sugar Plum Mountains and the Christmas Tree Forest, then take a journey to Tinkertown and sees Tiffany's Tea-piphany, Wrapping Works, Santa's Workshop, and the Candy Cane factory. Just as you think the joy of Santa Claus can't get more holiday-tastic, you meet the elves who have an assortment of jolly names such as Salty, Constable Crinkles, Tiny Sparkletoe, and his wife Pixie, Waldo, and who can forget Quince and his snowman best friend Pocket. Every element incorporated makes the writing stronger and adds to the enjoyment of fun phrases like golly doodle and doojabbers. Ireland inserts the spookiness and joy of Halloween into the giddiness of Christmas with Mrs. Claus trying to teach the elves about the fun of the holiday with pumpkins and scary movies. The love of Halloween isn't so easy when not all of the elves want to take part and some even go as far as to sabotage. This sets the stage for a truly unique murder mystery that finds all the elves as suspects and two holidays potentially ruined. Highly recommend that everyone reads Mrs. Claus and the Halloween Homicide as Ireland will lift your holiday spirits, make you laugh, and remind you how much fun believing in Santa can be.

This is a fun cozy mystery for the upcoming holiday season, especially as you don't typically see Mrs. Claus associated with Halloween.

While the second book it the series, it can be enjoyed as a standalone novel. The secondary characters are almost as enjoyable as the main ones. I like the rapport between April and Jingles. If you want a quick read, this is a good book to check out.

Cute little cozy mystery. As with Liz Ireland’s last book I loved the entire concept of the book. Mrs Claus out trying to find out who was trying to destroy the newly introduced holiday of Halloween.

Ireland’s books are magical with all the talking reindeer, elves and her snowy landscape and her characters are always adorable and fun.

I can’t wait to see which holiday Ireland brings to the North Pole next

Mrs Claus is still a newlywed and has moved to live in Christmastown/Santaland at the North Pole. She misses some of the other holidays she is used to and has introduce Halloween to the town, but someone REALLY doesn't like that and has broken into the greenhouse, smashed the pumpkins, and the turnips. Constable Crinkles is on the case, but Mrs C is more familiar with sleuthing than the good constable. It's a short, fun whodunit with lots of characters who definitely are. Great fun!

I received this ARC via Netgalley and Kensington Books, in return for an honest review. While the second book in this series, it is easily read as a standalone. This is a wonderfully original cozy mystery series and I highly recommend both books! American April Claus is newly married to Nick (Santa) Claus and now living nine months of the year in Christmastown. Populated with elves, talking reindeer, snowmen and humans, there’s a wonderful cast of new and recurring characters to enjoy! One of April’s innovations is to introduce Halloween to the community, with mixed results since its usually Christmas focused every day of the year. While some embracing the new holiday, others are up to more mischief. With the death of a town citizen, April wonders if her suggestion caused the murder and resolves to learn what she can to save Halloween and Christmastown. This is just such a clever series premise and there’s so much to enjoy! I hope you like it as much as I did.

Mrs. Claus and the Halloween Homicide is book #2 in the Mrs. Claus mystery series. This series is so much fun and so original. I love the idea that there is murder and mayhem in Santaland. In this outing, Mrs. Claus introduces Halloween to Santaland. Of course, it does not go smoothly. The author does a great job of throwing in enough red herrings that I can never figure out the murderer. I really enjoyed this book and am eagerly awaiting book #3. Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington for the ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

I can't believe how creative Liz Ireland's A Mrs. Claus Mystery series is as it entirely engages the reader into happy magic. Mrs. April Claus, recently from Oregon, has told others in the North Pole about Halloween and they decide to celebrate it for the first time. Chaos ensues, including a murder of one of the elves who most vociferously protested Halloween in the North Pole. I find all the characters so delightfully written, especially the solidness of Nick, the current Santa Claus. I am a huge fan, and I loved the set-up for more in the series. I personally can't wait!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Mrs. Claus and the Halloween Homicide

By Liz Ireland

If you are in the mood for a book that can keep a smile on your face this one does it!!

When April Claus decides to Bring Halloween to Stantaland, she was not prepared for what is going to take place. psychotic boyfriends, pumpkin slayers and even the Elves that are supposed to be merry are being very naughty.

This book was a wonderful read and enjoyable till the end. Liz Ireland knows how to weave great characters and bring you a story that you don’t want to put down!!

I received this e-book from NetGalley for my honest opinion.

I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
It was a terrific read!

Fun read which is still finding its feet. One does not expect Mrs. Claus and Halloween, maybe it is that it reminded me too much of the Nightmare before Christmas in broad terms. I enjoyed it, it was just a little off putting.

I really wasn’t sure what to expect with this book, however, I found it to be funny and entertaining.

What happens when a town that celebrates Christmas 365 days of the year is introduced to Halloween for the first time? Well, Mrs. Claus (April) certainly didn't anticipate what did happen. When death threats and murder darken the normally jovial town of Christmastown, April again sees herself thrown into an investigation. With the help of her husband and elf friends, she sets out to find the real monster before it's too late.

I really enjoyed reading the second book in the Mrs. Claus series! I find it interesting to see how she's adjusting to life at the North Pole. In the first book, we saw more of her questioning her decision to marry Mr. Christmas himself, but in the second we see her confidence has grown and how she's traversing the parallels between her friendships at the North Pole and back home in Oregon. I feel we saw more of Nick in this book and their relationship with one another. I would love to see more of that in the next book as I enjoy their interactions and seeing what attracted them to one another in the first place, however limited those interactions can be.

The side characters are extremely endearing. I love the bond April has formed with Jingles. Quasar still makes me go "awww". The Juniper friendship and Claire friendship are fun to see how April interacts with them and their similarities and differences. The overall storyline, of Halloween being brought to Christmasland, is what I'd imagine if Santa ended up in Halloween Town in Nightmare Before Christmas. It was delightfully imagined, and I look forward to what the next book will bring!

This is definitely not your traditional mystery book. Since it takes place in SantaLand everything is a bit odd. But it is odd is a quirky and cute way. It Will keep you involved during the story.. I find April to be an appealing character. I hope we will see more new characters.

This cute, cozy, Christmas read is sure to get anyone into the festive spirit.

When April Claus (the current Mrs Claus), decides to bring Halloween to Santaland she has no idea how much horror she's about to unearth. From Pumpkin Slayers to psychotic boyfriends, the elves are certainly being naughty this Halloween.

I really enjoyed this book, it merged my love of Christmas and my love of cozy mysteries in one book. I also really enjoyed the PG friendly, but clearly adult take on Santa and the North Pole.

I look forward to reading more books in this series.

This was an adorable cozy mystery where you get to see how the Father Christmas himself spends his off time. The concept has been quite adorable although personally I found some of the characters to be a little "overly" quirky. Otherwise it's a fun quick cozy read if you're missing the holiday season.
Thank you netgally for giving me an early copy of this book

Fun And Frivolous....
A fun and frivolous cosy mystery. When April Claus brings a new type of holiday to Christmastown it seems that not everyone is so thrilled. When a series of worrying events occurs culminating in a death it becomes clear that there’s a killer at large. A delightful, escapist read with a well drawn cast of characters.
