Unfortunately, this was a DNF for me. I made it about 1/3 through the book and tried to get into the story but could not. In my opinion, there were too many characters and jumping around to really get an idea of who was who and where the story was going. The beginning had a good hook, and potential for a good love story, but I could no longer put any more time into the book to find out. I did not read the 1st or 2nd book in the series which may have filled in the gaps I felt missing. I prefer books to be fast or medium paced and this one was just too slow.

I quite enjoyed this slow burn romance. The flashbacks offered such a nice insight into the growth of the characters. The story did seem to lag a little bit throughout, but overall, Infamous is a fun story to dive into if you're looking for that slow burn read.

This book tells the story of Celia who because of her bitterness was mean and spiteful in past. But after a prank backfires, she is outcasted from the London society. After ten years, she is working for a lady when she has to face the people she wronged and the man responsible for her current condition. Richard is a scholar whom Celia had once ridiculed. He was infatuated with her then and still is.

The plot is engaging albeit slow at times. Characters are well developed. In the flashbacks we can see how they have grown in those ten years. Romance between Celia and Richard is a slow burn.

The book also includes story of Lucian and Phyillida who were forced together because of Celia's prank. And honestly, I loved it more than our original couple.

The book beginns during the season when Luke Davenport fell in love with the beautiful, but sharp tongued Celia. His brother Richard is studying the process, even if outcasted by the ton and Celia. He's more a study man, fan of beetles.. IIt seems as getting in the Season is more like swimming with sharks.. We find in this book the 2 sons of Daphne, heroine of "Barbarous".
10 years later, we find the same persons and will slowly discover why Celia was named lady Infamous. The best point with this author is that her heros are never ordinary. In this book, she achieves the exploit of returning our feelings toward the vilain. My only deception is that in fact we follow 2 love stories, Luke's and Richard's quest of love and finally you stay a bit hungry with the 2 stories. It goes fast.

I read this book in just two days and I really really liked it, I think Minerva Spencer is getting better and better.
I had mixed feelings about “Notorious”, I liked “Outrageous” and “Infamous” is really up there.

The book follows the lives of the two Ramsay twins who we briefly met at the end of the previous novel, Richard is the studious, quirky one while Lucien is the responsible, righteous of the pair.
We also meet Phyllida (Lucien's wife) a shy, intelligent and insecure woman, and Celia (or Lady Infamous) an ex society's beauty who fell from grace.

The story begins when the two twins are teenagers, Lucien is in love with Celia (as everybody else. She's stunning) who is interested in him for his money and title, she's also part of a sort of "mean girls" group, and one night she tries to prank Phyllida and Richard by closing them together in a room.
Unfortunately something goes wrong and the one who gets stuck in the room with Phyllida is Lucien, who because of honor has to marry her even if he doesn't even know, or like her.
After the prank Celia loses the only opportunity she had to get quickly married (yes, Lucien was her only chance), word of what she did gets out, she loses everything, she has no money, no title, no family and so she starts working as a servant (well, not really, but if I tell you everything there's no point in reading the book).

After the first chapter, we are thrown forward of 10 years.
Phyllida is in an unhappy marriage with Lucien, Richard has become a famous naturalist who travels the world, while Celia is a lady-in-waiting for an old widow.
The four of them meet again when Richard and Lucien's sister gets married and Celia has to take part in the wedding because her lady is a guest.
From there we’ll see an evolution of the characters who will re-discover each other.
Lucien and Phyllida will be faced with their disastrous marriage, while Richard (who by the way doesn’t believe in love) finds himself very much attracted by Celia.

What I really liked about the book were the characters, my favorite couple was Phyllida and Lucien and I hoped they’d have more space in the book…If it was for me I’d have a whole book just about them, they are so sweet.
Phyllida is so insecure, she thinks she destroyed Lucien's life by marrying him, she thinks he’s still in love with Celia and her reappearance doesn't make it any better, they are the perfect couple for society but in reality their marriage is in ruins.
The reality is that in 10 years they have never taken the chance to really know each other, they are two strangers in marriage.
I felt so much for Phyllida, she's so insecure about herself, she doesn't want to get heartbroken by opening up to Lucien just for him to reject her and she also very much envies Celia's beauty.
Lucien is clueless, after 10 years of marriage he can't say he doesn't like his wife (but again, they don't even know each other), he wants to have a real marriage with her, he wants to give them a try, he just has to breach Phyllida's barrier.
As I said: SO CUTE!

Richard and Celia's relationship was more physical than emotional, they are attracted by one another and then slowly they fall in love with each other.
Celia has quite the baggage, after she got ruined she went through a lot and now she tries to survive by hiding herself and looking respectful.
She hates who she used to be 10 years prior, she can't forgive herself for what she did.
Richard is a scientist and doesn't believe in love, he travels the continent and has many relationships with older women until he comes back for his sister's wedding and meets Celia.
Their relationship was well written, sometimes I felt like it was a little dragged, but again I’m biased because I loved Lucien and Phyllida.

Overall this was a great book, I really liked it.
I loved that in the Epilogue we get to meet again with Eva and Godric…I LOVED THEM in Outrageous and ten years in their marriage they keep going great!

The next novel will be about how Mia (Lady Exley) met her husband after escaping from Oran (Can't wait!).

At one time Celia was on the verge of having it all, and now is desperate to keep her job as a companion, or else she will lose what title she does have. Coming across the twin brothers she wronged is a shock, but she realizes she needs to make things right with both of them. Rich never blamed her for the prank gone wrong from years before, as it affected his brothers life, not his own-even if it was meant for him. Still he's always secretly wanted Celia, his brother's former beloved. Now that his brother is happily married, he sees his chance.

Yet another pitch perfect romance by Ms. Spencer. There are two romances here, Lucien whose 10 year forced marriage is cold and distant, and his twin Richard who lusts after Celia, to whom Lucien had intended to propose the night he unwittingly compromised Phyllida, his now wife. Both men stumble towards their HEA despite the machinations of their sister’s malevolent fiancé Sebastian. A rollicking Christmas story of love and second chances.

I loved this book. Minerva Spencer writing style is fresh, whitty and engaging. The story does not disappoint. I will admit that I was a bit worried when I learned that we were going to follow 2 couples because I feared it would lead to rushed relationships with not enough space to be truly developed but I am happy to say that I was wrong. The driving force of this book is the characters. They all feels wonderfully real and believable, their arc and growth is consistent and masterfully done. Minerva Spencer took some of the most appreciated stereotypes and tropes in the historical romance genre and gave them a fresh spin. This book feels new and unexpected, like taking a wrong turn on a familiar road and suddenly discovering the most breathtaking view. Definitely recommend.

Infamous, by Minerva Spencer. What a book?! What a book?! I am so elated to have read this remarkable resilient love story. This story pulled a family and unexpected loves together during the time when they all needed to stand together as one.
The writer didn’t hold back her gifted talent of writing, from this book. The love story was magnificent and then some. I love how the writer was able to write the story in such a way that it reads like a movie in my mind. I was literally in a trance between the pages. I did not want to put down to go to bed!
I was literally upset that I had to stop reading to get some sleep. You avid readers out their, you understand my dilemma. The story reads with so much realism. The writer brought information backed by facts. The details and description of places, things and people tapped into my visualization of the story.
The book is definitely a page turner that didn’t disappoint me at all. The entertainment was outstanding! Every character was written well. Their personalities and the parts that they played in the book was tenacious. I’m most of the characters I found the witty charm, warm, humorous, caring and they ability to share their open heart with the people that are very important to them. Luc and Rich reveal this the most I think among all the characters. The humor, quick whips and the candid discussions was one of the many things that I loved about the book. The drama was a smashing success that lead the charge of this being a well written book. Most of the characters shared in some of the drama and they played an excellent role. My inability of putting the book down also showed me the book reads a good pace, because I didn’t want to put the book down at all. Now let’s talk about the steam.
I give it an A+! Lid have mercy this Redrever twins know how to please a woman. To know how wicked these two play, I will not divulge. I’m leaving that wonderful joy for your own private pleasure. I will say this I loved Phil statement to Luc, Phil said to Luc, “If you want to bed me according to our agreement, then extinguish the candles and exercise your legal right here.
If not, I bid you good night.” Ladies I was sucking on a jolly rancher while reading this scene and when Phil told him that, I just about choked on my jolly rancher from shock! This book is sooooo gooood! I give this book two snaps and a, “Sebastian, you better run Toni is coming. She knows how to bury a body that no one will be looking for”. I am quickly learning that anything by Minerva Spencer is going to be fabulous. I loved this book. Richard and Celia were in the same circles 10 years ago when a prank gone wrong destroyed two families. Now at a house party they are back together and neither can deny the attraction between them. If only Celia could tell the truth about what happened that fateful night years ago. This book will not disappoint.

In the third installment of the Rebels of the Ton series, we come to know Celia, former queen bee and mean girl from the ladies college she attended. Ten years earlier, a prank she was involved with had repercussions for two others and for herself. Her place in society was destroyed and she has since been working for others to earn a living. Her current position has her placed at a society wedding where some of the previous players will be met again, a prospect that is quite unnerving.

In this book, we learn a lot about what has driven Celia to bully others in the past. It doesn't excuse her behavior but it's clear she was reacting to her own circumstances and those she perceived in others. We also come to understand that she was being used and manipulated by another, in the past and the present. At the same time, one of the victims of her taunts, Richard, is one of her current supporters. He had a crush on her in the past and it seems it has been reignited as they meet again. Time will tell if theirs is a romance for the ages. Meanwhile, Richard's brother Lucien and his wife have some issues to resolve after ten years of a marriage that had been forced on them after the aforementioned prank went a bit wrong.

I found this to be a quite enjoyable book, with points of view from several characters. It's one that shows there are more ways to see a person other than the masks they present to others. Excellent!! Loved this story - all of it! Lots of things going on in this book, a lot of emotion, hot as hell sex scenes, plenty of romance, and perfect endings for all! Lucian & Richard end up just where they were meant to be … even if it took them a decade to get there!

This is a series that has totally got me hooked because of the covers ! I love them !

✔️ I live that this book actually has two love stories , and overall I preferred the “minor” story and wish we saw even more of these two characters
✔️ there are definitely unique elements to this story - for example, our heroine is very flawed with a questionable past , and our hero is .. well a geek !
✖️ I would have preferred the “big secret” was revealed earlier and there was a bit more of dealing with those consequences

Overall, this is my favourite in this series so far

I found this to be the weakest installment of this series so far. I didn't enjoy the characters. I would prefer the author revisit the protagonists of the first book in this series.

I am not usually a reader of Regency Romance. But this book was the exception. Celia , who was once a wealthy debutante, is now a destitute companion to an elderly woman. At a ball she comes upon the man she was once to marry, women who she once bullied terribly and finally a man who she ridiculed, but who is now rich and successful. The story weaves through the embarrassment she feels at what she had done, and her humility and growing love for the man she once detested. A really fun read that anyone who survived the same scenarios in high school will identify with.

I enjoyed this story of a prank gone wrong that changes the course that is laid out for Minerva. This can be read and enjoyed as a standalone even though it is second in a series.

I received an ARC of this book to read through NetGalley. Infamous by Minerva Spencer is the third book in her exciting Rebels of the Ton series. You could read it as a standalone but the series is fun to read, and characters from the earlier books are also in this book. Celia Trent was an unhappy insecure young woman at the time of her debut, and she allowed that bitterness to cloud her judgement. She became one of the architects of the scandal of the season, and it cost her the future she had planned. Now ten years later, she’s the companion to Lady Yancy and is attending a wedding that includes the people whose lives were also irrevocably changed by the scandal. Of course, the bridegroom would be the vile Duke under whose influence she fell that long-ago season. Richard Redvers is surprised to discover that the secret crush he had for Celia long ago still exists and that this new humbler Celia may even hold a stronger attraction for him. I enjoyed reading this book and recommend reading it with its story of redemption and finding that not getting what you thought you wanted may lead to even greater happiness. Steam Level: Medium. The book has angst and a will they-won't they factor with a couple 0f really hot scenes thrown in the mix!!
