The Siren is a book I really wanted to read so when I realized this was just an excerpt I bought the book! Loved it! Who doesn't love being trapped on an island during a tropical storm? Secrets abound and things long buried in the past come to light. That's what happens when a superstar actor decides to star in a film with his ex-wife. You have to read this one to believe it!

This excerpt really hooked me in to the story of the Siren! In just the first few pages/chapters, I was able to understand the main themes of the book while my attention remained captured.

What an enjoyable read this was! I appreciate how tabloid stories and Instagram posts are woven into the narrative. This prompted me to take it up because it made me think of Evelyn Hugo and had a Hollywood theme. The Caribbean setting, the Hollywood glitz and glamour, the insight into showbiz and its toxicity, as well as the diverse cast of people, are some of my favorite elements of the novel.

 I believe that the novel more than lived up to its promise of escapism.

This was an exerpt for the Siren by Katherine St John. It is the perfect beach read for the summer. The beginning started somewhat slow but I’ve seen other reviewers say that once you power through, there are tons of actions. I am looking forward to reading the whole book.

This was an alright read - Did not go out an purchase the entire book to finish where the excerpt left off.

St. John does not disappoint. Loved this excerpt and cannot wait to get my hands on a final copy of the book.

After reading this excerpt I’m definitely hooked and would love to read the rest of this story!

I really enjoyed this preview. This is not usually the genre I read but I’ve heard great things about it so I’m excited to read the full the book.

This was cute, but I hate that it was just an excerpt. Even if I'm hooked, I'll never end up getting a book from an excerpt unless I can get it easily and immediately. That being said, it's probably a great summer read, if you actually have the entire book.

I was completely unable to put this book down. It was JUICY and SPICY!

Synopsis:
We have three female POVs in this book: 1. Taylor - the film producer of the movie "The Siren", 2. Stella - the female lead of "The Siren" and 3. Felicity - Stella's newly acquired personal assistant.
"The Siren" is a movie set to film in the Caribbean, starring and financed by "Hollywood's hottest male" Cole Powers. When all three women... and Cole... end up on the Caribbean island together, they soon learn that their presence in the same place at the same time is not a coincidence.

Thoughts:
This is a scandalous page-turner. The plot steadily picks up through the first half of the book and quickly turns into the thriller that it is advertised as. I gasped, I cried, and I loved these women! I loved their stories, their strength, and their unity with each other against the common enemy.
I 1000% recommend this book - you will not be able to put it down!

I’ve read last year’s novel by this author and was excited to read another book, based on how much I liked the previous one. However, The Siren exceeded my expectations! It was the perfect beach book, filled with mystery, romance, family, riches and celebrity gossip. Amazing. I will be reading this one again next summer!

I am so sad that this was only an excerpt of the book. I was definitely hooked and hope to finish the book someday.

I am sad only because I realize that what I read was an excerpt of this book. It pulled me in from the beginning. i have already ordered this one for my library. The characters, setting and story are perfect summer reading. I was able to totally escape into this island paradise with a very strange undertone. I can't wait to finish this one!

The Siren, by Katherine St. John, tells the story of a group of Hollywood stars, past and present.. getting ready to shoot the movie of their lives. They all have their reasons for being on the island of St. Genesis, and they all need this film to be a success.. megastar Cole Power’s will be staring against his ex-wife, Stella Rivers and the producer Taylor needs this film to be a blockbuster, to save her career and reputation. Once settled on the island, things seem normal yet everyone has their own secrets. With tensions high, filming delays and a tight budget everyone is on edge. This story was fun and is had twists and turns, which were very interesting.. when you add in a crazy assistant with her own agenda, things get even crazier.. When you think it can’t get any wackier.. wait for the Hurricane.. This was a fast paced read for me. Great story, great characters and I gave it four stars. I want to thank Netgalley & the author for my advanced copy, for an honest review. It was my pleasure reading and reviewing this book. Absolutely loved this story. I was hooked from the beginning and could not stop reading it. The twists and turns and villains this book held made it so much fun to read. I love this author and have loved previous reads from them. They did not disappoint again!

Just this little snippet of The Siren has gotten me so excited to finally dive into the final copy on its way to me! I can confidently rate the little preview five stars because I already want to sink my teeth into the rest of the story. ASAP.

I didn't realize I was only requesting the excerpt of this novel, but I did enjoy the pages I was able to read. This book has been on my radar, but I went in blind and was surprised by the setup of the story with multiple narrators. I will definitely pick up the book to continue reading soon. It seems like a great summer read that is getting a lot of buzz.
