Her Renegade Cowboy by Lora Leigh is the third book in the Moving Violations series. I love Lora Leigh books and this one was terrific. This is Levi and Lilly’s story, and their attraction is off the charts. They both have secrets and have a hard time telling each other their stories. This story is suspenseful, and action packed, while also presenting humor, and a deep romance of a story. I highly recommend this hard to put down page turner of a story.
Thank you Netgalley for the advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

Typical romance where the woman needs protecting from herself. Love the cover and blurb was interesting but it’s the author that makes this an auto grab.

What did I like? Lucy is a small town second grade teacher who put away a bad man who hurt her. Her testimony sent him to jail but there is a prison break. Levi is sent to keep her safe and gets close to her. The book is steamy and saucy but this scenario is not a new one.

Would I recommend or buy? This author is an auto buy for me. For most romance lovers her name is just an indication of a good read. I just found this one to be kind of expected. Still three stars!

It is easy to see that the author loves a stalwart hero, but Her Renegade Cowboy is a bit thin in the character development. I found Levi's actions as an undercover operative reckless and unprofessional and because he is written so thinly it is hard to root for him. Repetitive phrasing and word choice give a sense of kitchen sink narration that lends to an off-kilter feel. There seems to be little connection between erotic language usage and actual erotica. The wooing is surprisingly non-existent and the chemistry is forced. The gallantry misfires and comes across as misogynistic. Preachy, obvious, and repetitive.

A good mix of suspense & romance.

In this new installment, we follow Lily’s story. She is Jacob’s cousin (we met him in Strong, silent cowboy). Lily sent a rapist/killer in jail ; she survived his attempt to kill her. Unfortunately, he escapes prison, so Lily’s life is in danger.

At the same time, she meets a new cowboy, Levi, who works for her cousin Jacob. Levi really is a US Marshall. He knows that the convict will come looking for Lily because she is the one who helped put him behind bars. Levi gets close to Lily and as things heat up, he gets very involved and vows to protect her.

The story unfolds at a good pace ; Lily’s thoughts are very present to explain her mindset. There is a good mix of action and romance and sex.

Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for an Advanced Reader Copy.

Very enjoyable read. Hard to beat a story between a cowboy and a school marm, this one set in modern times. Just enough backstory to understand the other characters. Would recommend this to readers who like action and romance.

This book was not love for me. It was a DNF at about the 75% mark. To be honest - it got so repetitive at that point and I was utterly bewildered as to why Levi didn't tell Lily who he was or why he was there. I thought that aspect of the book as just dumb. Like why he didn't tell her from the very beginning was just weird. There was no reason he couldn't have told her. The internal dialogue from Levi about it - along with Lily's conversations with friends and family just felt repetitive - with nothing really happening. You could see the final showdown with the bad guy coming from a mile away and could sense exactly what was going to go down. I just didn't have enough interest to stick with it to the end.

This book feature off the page sexual assault. Lily deals with it in her own way - but her experience may not be relatable for most.

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

Her Renegade Cowboy is a phenomenal contemporary romance with a western twist by Lora Leigh. Ms. Leigh has outdone herself with this well-written book. If this was a movie I know these characters would be Oscar-worthy. Lily kept her attack secret from everyone except her sister. When the man that attacked her escaped from prison, Lily refused protective custody and deputy marshals hovering. Levi hired on at the ranch Lily's cousin owns, but he may have a secret agenda. Lily and Levi's story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I loved this book and can't wait for my next book by Lora Leigh. Her Renegade Cowboy is book 3 of the Moving Violations Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Levi is every reason to read this book. I have found that this author always provides the type of dominant, take charge heroes that I love, and she never makes them feel the same. You don't get the same man with a different name. You clearly can see the difference in the men but they are all very much a man.

For the most part, I also enjoy the heroines in her books but I will say Lilly was not an easy character to like. She's been through a trauma that has made her very guarded and defensive. It's understandable but also hard to enjoy. For me, that didn't matter all that much since I'm all about the hero.

Overall, I have really enjoyed this series. It's not your typical cowboy trope. They all have some military/law enforcement background and they know how to protect the women they fall for. The suspense is well written and not predictable

First, let me start by saying Lora Leigh is one of my favorite authors! This book did not disappoint. It has action, hot and steamy scenes, well-developed characters and is fast-paced. Levi and Lily develop an attraction to each other quickly, and the action-packed story takes off right from the beginning! Levi is tough and brooding next to Lily's passion and fire and they burn together! Lilly is a elementary school teacher and Levi is a new ranch hand at her cousin's ranch. He is immediately attracted to her and her to him. Can she overcome her fears and open up to him? Is he more than just a ranch hand? A highly enjoyable read that was impossible to put down. If you have never read any of Leigh's books, get started! I received this book for free and voluntarily reviewed the book..

Levi breaks the rules and falls for the teacher he’s suppose to keep an eye on. Lily is still having trouble dealing with her past. Being with Levi makes her feel safe. But they are both keeping secrets. Lots of romance and drama in this book.

Meet Levi. A tall, hunky drink of man. He’s zeroes in on Lily from the first page. She’s full of sass and sauce to cover up the frightful ordeal she’s endured. They both hide things from each other, but their attraction is instantaneous and magnetic. You will need to be in front of an AC unit while reading certain scenes because they are white hot with heat. Levi makes me weak in the knees. I enjoyed reading about their story. The danger, the love, and the entire package. I’m back in the saddle with cowboy romances. Turn loose of the reigns with this read.

I always enjoy a good Lora Leigh book. This one was no exception. Liily was a young woman who had been brutalized and was having trouble adjusting. She did ok with family and the kids she taught, but wasn't ready to date again. Enter Levi who worked for her cousin and wanted to break down her barriers. When Lily heard her attacker had escaped, she thought about running, but hadn't yet. She got involved with Levi and didn't want to leave him, until she thought he betrayed her. The storyline was very good, it flowed well and there was just the right amount of drama, snarkiness (on Lily's part) and romance - with the hot sex thrown in. A good read

The ending was the best part! Lily and Levi came together pretty naturally. Take out the middle section with some of the repetitive sex, and it was a good storyline.

Wow. How do you put a whistle into words? From the super hot cowboy on the cover to the great story line, Lora Leigh has hit another homerun.

I received a complimentary copy of Her Renegade Cowboy in exchange for an honest review. The writing style was great, but I thought this book would never end. It stalled midway and went into repeat mode. The ending was also way to cliche.

First, I loved Levi Roberts. Let’s say he is someone I’d love to have in my corner, if I was ever in trouble. Well, he will mean more than that to Lily Donovan eventually but you’ll have to read the story to find out. Still, he can be in my corner anytime!

Lily has very big trust issues – she came by them the hard way – but she is trying to deal with them all on her own. She doesn’t want to put her family or friends in danger but by doing so, she risks it all. And Levi has protective instincts that he feels for Lily, along with growing feelings. Lily’s issues deal with not trusting men (that she is involved with, may be involved with; not her family) so the two of them have to work at any kind of relationship, including friendship.

There is intrigue and suspense, light enough not to bog down the story. In fact, it is a part that I truly enjoyed. The one thing that dragged the story a bit for me was that Levi kept secrets and when I first read that part of his story, I knew that it would be a part of the plot. The fact that I figured it ourt early was disappointing to me. Great read, though; excellent writing; great characters. Well, there are a few nasty characters but it’s okay to not like them!

Her Renegade Cowboy by Lora Leigh was the third in a series and I was offered the opportunity to read it by St. Martin's Press and Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. Had I gone back and reread my review for her previous novel, Strong Silent Cowboy, I wouldn't have accepted the novel, because I gave that one a one star review.

I didn't like this novel any better. Lily is a victim of abuse, managed to escape her attacker, put him in jail and discovers he has escaped, but chooses not to go into the witness protection program. Levi shows up as a new worker on her cousin Jacob's farm and he's actually a US Marshall, there to keep an eye on Lily, but when they meet and there is an obvious attraction, suddenly Lily's trauma disappears, and they're in bed pretty quickly. Really? Ridiculous! The rest of the book is a bunch of scenes that were required so they could make it from one sex scene to another. I don't mind a good sex scene, but these were boring, repetitive and added nothing to the storyline. Don't think I'll be reading anymore of her books! Lora Leigh, please consider reading Diana Gabaldon's "I Give You My Body, How I Write Sex Scenes" for a primer on writing good sex scenes!
