“Single White Female” meets an affluent, unassuming married couple living in New York City. Mix these two up and you get the STALKER-IFIC psychological mystery from Mary Dixie Carter called “The Photographer.”

This is a fun, short, suspenseful, creepy story about a female photographer, Delta. She’s outside, looking in and is super manipulative. Throughout the book, she keeps inserting herself deeper and deeper into the lives of Amelia and Fritz Straub. And she’s desperate to be in their lives. At all costs.

As you can edit photos, you can edit stories, memories and realities.

Mary Dixie Carter narrates her own story and she has talent! It’s just as if the publisher hires a voice actor to perform the story. I also enjoyed the bonus audio discussion between the author and Jennifer Hillier. Hillier’s website says she’s a writer “about dark, twisted people who do dark, twisted things.”

Special thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio (Minotaur Books) for sharing this audiobook reviewer copy. This is my honest review.
