This book did not disappoint and the narrators were great. Mab, Mirabell and Monday were likable characters. And as different as their names may imply. The story of how they came to not only their mom’s aid, but attempts to save the town were heart warming. Sticking up for the kid being bullied, first love and fighting for what’s right…how can you possibly go wrong. Laurie Frankel has a way of pulling you in and keeping you hooked.

I read this book back when it first came out and thought I would give it a re-visit. I also just listed to the arc of Family Family by this same author which will be released later this month.

Laurie Frankel's strongsuit is developing multi-dimensional characters that make you FEEL something. They often remind you of someone you know and the story she creates is always something special. This one is no exception and focuses on environmental issues and corruption in the name of greed.

The audiobook has three amazing narrators who voice each of the main characters well and added to my overall enjoyment of this book.

Great news for everyone, this book is already released so do your favor and grab yourself a physical copy, electronic copy, audiobook etc. It's a must read and be on the lookout for her other novel releasing in two short weeks!

What wouldn't a mother do to protect her children? I was so excited to listen to the audio version of One Two Three by Laurie Frankel, especially because I loved her prose in This is How it Always Is. Thank you to @netgalley and Henry Holt & Company for the chance to review this book. This book focuses on triplets in Bourne, a small town that had made national news nearly two decades prior for green water. The three girls (Mirabel, Monday, and Mab) are so different, I personally loved Mirabel because she was so smart but was unable to speak, necessitating the use of a robotic-sounding voice.

The Belsum Chemical Company was responsible for turning the water green and sickening animals and residents. The girls' father died from cancer at a young age before they were born. When there are moving trucks in the neighborhood, there is suspicion that the chemical company would like to reopen the plant. I loved the passion and the thirst for justice in this book - and it was both funny and heartwrenching at times. As a mother, this book resonated.

The audiobook was read by three different narrators and it was fabulous - and I loved the inclusion of Mirabel's device sound.

Mirabel, Monday, and Mab. Triplet sisters in Bourne who have different gifts. They've watched their mother fight for justice over contaminated water. But things are about to get serious when secrets come to light. They're soon to learn that the past is very present in Bourne.

The pacing of the audiobook was excellent. There was a good mix of plot and character development. I recommend this audiobook.

Laurie Frankel has penned another very good “issue novel” following her success with This Is How It Always Is, this time focusing on environmental issues, corporate greed and corruption, and the benefits to all of expanding our definition of normalcy and working to include and accommodate everyone. Bourne was a sleepy little town before a large chemical company built a plant there that polluted the water and brought deaths, diseases, and birth defects to the community. Seventeen years later the company is seeking to reopen the plant, claiming that the problems with the chemical have been corrected, and that restarting operations will benefit Bourne and its citizens.

The story is narrated in alternating chapters by three teenaged triplets: Mab, the firstborn, who is healthy, smart, and apparently undamaged; Monday, born second, physically sound but neurodivergent; and Mirabel, born third, severely physically disabled, but cognitively sound, though unable to speak or move any part of her body aside from one hand. These characters are unique and well-developed, and coming of age at a time when their town needs heroes. Can they overcome their past and move forward into the future that awaits them?

The audiobook is particularly well done, with distinctive voices for each of the three main characters, including Mirabel's AAC device.

A suspenseful story about a small town dealing with forces (that seem) beyond its control. It's told from multiple perspectives - three triplets whose mother is fighting for the town. The author does a great of integrating the narrators and making what could be an uninteresting premise especially compelling. Perhaps a bit overly long, but well told and powerful.

I loved this one so much. These sisters were amazing and so unique. I loved the whole town and all the characters.

This is a fantastic contemporary fiction novel about 3 sisters that grew up in a small town that has been destroyed by a chemical plant, we see the mother's fight against this company and the journey for justice. I listened to the audiobook version. Thank you to McMillian Audio and Libro.com for this gifted audiobook.

I think this book was what many would classify as a slow burn. It took you along a long journey of how a town was left destroyed by greed. They were also left hung out to dry and to suffer with a multitude of disabilities. Mabb, Monday and Mirabel are three sisters that work together along with a new kid in town to take down Belsom chemicals. There is young love and miscalculations along the way but in the end the girls find their own justice. Very well written.

Really enjoyed this book. I loved the story and the progression of events. A really important issue and told in an enjoyable, unique way.

I held back writing this review for a very long time. I absolutely loved "This Is How It Always Is", so I was eager to get my hands on a copy of One Two Three and thank NetGalley and Publisher for providing me with an ARC of the book over two years ago. Sadly, it was a DNF for me, despite the important subject matter of environmental contamination, poisoning the inhabitants of whole towns with chemical waste. I am sure that if I had persevered, I would have been rewarded, but, perseverance is not what I am looking for in my choice of literature. I was and remain an outlier for this book and hope that I will go back and finish it sometime in the future to replace this review with a glowing one..

This was a fascinating novel with a well-narrated audiobook. Three distinct narrators capture the voices of the sisters perfectly, enhancing the reading experience. I am looking forward to reading and listening to more of Laurie Frankel's work.

One Two Three was the perfect title and division for this novel. Laurie Frankel used the numbers to represent the triplets that wanted to help solve the mystery of the towns hidden secrets and save the day. The girls' synergy were charming and at times humorous as the events unfolded. This is a great book for teenagers and up.

The amazing narration given by three people, Emma Galvin; Jesse Vilinsky; Rebecca Soler, that represented each of the three daughters was the way to read this book. Each sister had a uniqueness that was enhanced by the different narrators. They elevated the amazing story written by Laurie Frankel and will suck you right in just like I was.

This was such a unique book. The story is told in multiple POVs, which I enjoyed. The characters were well developed. The mystery in this book is great, and will keep you guessing the whole time. I highly recommend listening to this one on audio, I think it made the story so much better.

Fascinating story with a unique approach. The book is from the perspective of triplets and labeled One, Two or Three depending on which voice is being heard. I loved listening to this audio version.

This story parallels what is really happening in Flint, MI and the impacts of corporations polutions.

One Two Three by Laurie Frankel was a fascinating and uniquely interesting story with incredibly well written characters. The audiobook was very well done. A highly recommended read that could potentially also be labelled under YA.

This book was such a great parallel to the real life issue that occurred in Flint. Makes you think about what happens afterwards when the headlines are over. The way the story is told thru different eyes of people who have been affected differently was very powerful and worked well.

Loved this audio book. Loved the voices and how it changes with the different characters. Great story, great listen.

The characters of the novel are what drives this to be such an impactful story. The plot kind of takes the backseat, in my opinion. I loved learning about the triplet sisters, and really, really liked the disability representation with the nonverbal, yet extremely smart sister. Readers from small towns will especially find this book to be true to life, and I won't soon forget it.

This unique book was definitely one of my favorites from this year. I loved how the author created the view points from each sister character. The narrators for the audio book were so interesting and made the story so intriguing. The emotions are very strong through out the story and it kept me as the reader so interested in the whole story and really loved it.
