If I tell you that I felt furious almost the entire time whilst reading this book, then you may think that contradicts my next statement: I loved this book! It's only a very skilled author who can elicit such a strong emotional response, and I would have walked through fire for our main protagonist Eliza to free her from her overbearing, bullying, controlling bastard of a husband!

From the very first moment Dan and Eliza meet and he cheekily introduces himself as her future tenant in the newly renovated flat she is renting out, we hear that Eliza is deeply unhappy. After ten years of living with a man who watches her every move and is emotionally abusive, she is desperate to leave her marriage. But her husband Martin holds some type of power over her, and she is trapped. Is it any wonder then that she would easily be charmed by her handsome, easygoing new tenant?

It's at this point that any similarities between INVITE ME IN and other likeminded domestic suspense stories end. As Eliza's trap tightens and she is becoming ever more desperate, lonely and isolated, I would have willingly finished off her nasty husband myself. Again, it's only a very skilled author who knows how to release her readers' inner psychopaths ;) And of course it's not as straightforward as that ...

When the twist came, I was and I wasn't surprised. I knew that the author would wait for an opportune moment to pounce and send her readers into a tailspin. But I had no idea how evil and twisted this plot development would turn out to be!

I'm not going to give anything else away. It's best to enter this story blind and let yourself get swept away in its emotional maelstrom. INVITE ME IN is that rarest kind of thriller- one that both chills with a constant sense of menace and danger and also blindsides you completely. I enjoyed every minute of it and read it in almost one sitting because I couldn't tear myself away. It will easily make it onto my favourites list this year and I highly recommend it to readers who may have become a bit jaded by the predictability of the domestic noir genre. As each dysfunctional character stumbled towards the inevitable finale, there was nothing predictable or formulaic in this story. Well done Emma Curtis!

It took me a while to get into this book, partly it's the usual story of wealthy people in a marriage gone wrong and I think I have read too many of these. Furthermore, the characters are not very nice people and it's hard to get emotionally involved. But at about halfway it got me and overall I enjoyed it.
Eliza is married to Martin who is rich and owns properties, they have a large house and two children. There is also a French au pair who looks after the children. Martin is paraplegic following an accident some years before and partly because of that, he is very controlling of his wife Eliza. Here comes a new tenant for one of their houses, a charming guy called Dan who is infatuated with Eliza and she starts to confide in him. But bad things happen, Eliza's best friend who is also Martin's sister stops talking to her and the French au pair behaves in a funny way. At this point, secrets will have to be revealed and expect a few twists along the way. It's an ok read especially for people who like stories involving married couples.

Eliza Curran, mother of two and married to Martin Curran has a life many of us would be envious of. But she is trapped in a unhappy marriage. It all changes when she gets a new tenant for one of their homes, Dan Jones.
He inveigles his way into both Eliza's and Martin's life. Why? Eliza unwittingly falls for Dan but is he the man to take her away from her miserable life??
A good psychological novel and well written. This is a must read.

The is a riveting read in the complete sense of it.

It’s a page turner with some really horrible characters, and a main female lead who is a bit of doormat. Really felt Eliza really need to deal with her self esteem issues.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy, which had me hooked.

This book has all the ingredients required for a thrilling read. Secrets, lies, an unhappy marriage, a controlling husband, a young and beautiful French au pair and a charming stranger.
When Eliza takes on a new tenant in the form of Dan, a charming and handsome younger man she imagines he has come to save her from her miserable life and take her away from Martin, her control freak of a husband.
As Dan infiltrates the family it becomes clear that he may not be the saviour that Eliza has been hoping for.
Twists and turns aplenty in this gripping novel.
It gets a five star from me!I Would recommend it to fans of Lisa Jewell and the like

Eliza and Martin live with their two children in a very expensive house that Martin helped to design.
Martin was involved in a motor accident that has left him in a wheelchair his changed from a loving husband to a abusive one.To others his the perfect husband but Elizas had enough.
After Dan moves into one of the properties they rent out,Eliza is attracted to him big time and things begin to fall apart what follows is a roller coaster of actions and emotions.
I really loved this book fast paced and gripping I would highly recommend.

I found this book an enjoyable read with some really horrid characters. A few twists - some a bit far fetched!

This was just an ok read for me. I found that I could not really care about any of the characters and unfortunately the story did not really hold my attention. I think sometimes not all books work for everyone and this was just one of these occasions for me. Thank you to Netgalley and the author for providing me with a copy of the book.

Eliza lives with her husband Martin and their two young children in a very expensive home. They also own apartments that they let out.
When Eliza rents one of her apartments to Dan she is immediately attracted to him and he becomes friends with Eliza and Martin.
This situation is about to become more complicated that anyone could imagine.
I enjoyed this book although it became quite far-fetched in parts.

Another extremely exciting read from Emma Curtis. This psychological thriller centres on Eliza, a woman with many secrets. Eliza is trapped in an abusive relationship with her husband, but when a new tenant for one of their flats turns up on her doorstep her life will never be the same again.
Right from the word go, the tension is built up and just keeps getting cranked up higher and higher. Little hints about the secrets being kept are slowly dropped into the narrative which is full of twists and surprises.
The characters are not at all likeable but you can't help but be drawn into their fates. This is a totally engrossing and compelling read.

What a brilliant psychology crime thriller that had me guessing right to the end. I thought that the plot was imaginative and well thought out. I hated most of the characters but I think that was probably the aim of the author I will definitely be looking out for more.

A psychological thriller filled with twists and turns. I loved the basis of this- a woman who seems to have it all on the outside, a perfect family, loving husband, lovely home, but the reality is far different. Enter Dan, a new tenant, and things take on a different turn. Brilliant.

I am a massive Emma Curtis fan and this did not disappoint!

Hard to put down you and you just can’t wait to see what happens next.

It centres around Eliza who seems to have everything until you find out what her husband is really like. When a new tenant arrives, he seems everything that Eliza would go after in a man - he’s attractive, charming and seemingly irresistible but if things seems too good to be true they normally are!

Great, fact-paced read.

This is a domestic thriller with lots of complex characters: Eliza and Martin Curran are the proud parents of two children who are building a successful property portfolio; Isabel is their au pair; Ali and Pete are Martin’s sister and brother-in-law; and Dan Jones is the man who takes out a tenancy for their latest property, and to whom Eliza finds herself more and more attracted. As you turn the pages of this taut thriller, you become more and more aware of how desperate Eliza’s situation actually is: far from leading a charmed existence, she has to share her life with a narcissistic, psychologically abusive husband whom she cannot escape. In an additional twist that will add difficulty to Eliza’s life, Isabel also becomes attracted to Dan Jones ...
An absolutely captivating read, this is a superbly plotted thriller that will keep you guessing right until the end and wanting to add more pages to the book. Highly recommended, and I cannot wait to read more of Emma Curtis’s output. Absolutely recommended. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the free ARC that I received in exchange for this honest and unbiased review.

Wow, wow, wow, I absolutely loved this book and didn't want to put it down.

The story revolves around Eliza who does up flats to rent out while living in a fantastic house her husband designed having the seemingly perfect life. All is not as it seems as we find out as the story unravels and we find out more about Eliza's life. Enter a new tenant and wait for the mayhem.
