Cool little chapter book about twins who learn teamwork and persistence while fishing at their grandparents' lake home in Wisconsin. Discussion questions and a glossary at the end great for homeschoolers.

My 7 year old would love this story! I loved hearing about Harley and how she gained confidence in this book, learning how to fish with her grandparents. This was sweet and easy story, perfect for your outdoor loving children!

With thanks to NetGalley and Stone Arch Books for an early copy in return for an honest review.

What a fun early chapter book! The pictures were a great addition and by the end I was ready to go fishing. Will definitely be recommending this story to readers ready for chapter books but not quite ready for middle grade books.

What a fun read with my 6 year old grandson. We just finished our pond so he was thrilled! Love the pictures because they help bring the story to life. Learning about fishing is so beneficial for young ones. The children in the story are realistic. We can't wair for the next book! Thanks #netgalley and #Capstone for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

My 6 year old loved this book. He is fishing obsessed but not quite book obsessed. With this one, he was the one asking for me to read it to him! I can't tell you how happy that made me. I am so so glad to read a fishing chapter book to him! He is already asking when the next one comes out.
Thanks Netgalley and the publisher!

This easy chapter book was a delightful read! This is about a girl named Rhiannon and her brother, who are at their grandparent's cabin for two weeks. They both fall in love with fishing and decide to enter the youth bass competition happening at the lake. I liked the pace of the short chapters, the fun characters, the humor, and the tight-knit theme of family knowledge woven throughout the book. The way fishing facts were woven into the story was very natural and will pique kids' interests. I always love seeing authentic Indigenous representation in books as well, so I think this book is great for both outdoorsy children and Native children who need to see themselves in the books they're reading.

This was a nice, wholesome read. A brother and a sister spend time with their extended family, and through learning from them about fishing they learn how to get along with each other. Children already familiar with fishing will enjoy getting to see their sport represented, while newcomers will learn along with the siblings the tips and tricks of the sport. Cooperation and persistence are running themes, and they are interwoven nicely with both the fishing aspects and the sibling relationship aspects. It would have been nice to see a few more pictures of the specific tools and baits used, but the pictures that were there were fun and expressive. Overall this would be an enjoyable book for most emerging readers.
