The cutest little queer family story, complete with a cat! Bright and catching illustrations make it one to share with all the little ones in your life.

I read this book to my two youngest grandchildren and they liked it. It was a cute book to read after they finished their breakfast. The illustrations were cute, a bit quirky and brightly coloured. It showed what to do when you get up before the rest of the family, which my granddaughter often does. He got himself and his cat some breakfast, which could be an issue as this book is geared to toddlers. I liked the depiction of a non-traditional family with two moms, shown in a normal family setting. There wasn't a lot to the story, but enough for the youngest one to enjoy.

The premise is cute, and even better is a story depicting same-sex parents that doesn't focus on the fact that the child has two moms or two dads. Thousand of children have same-sex parents and they, too, deserve books depicting families that look like them that are about more than getting people to see their families as normal.

Bright colors and a charming woodblock print style make the illustrations POP right out, and are guaranteed to grab kids' attention.

A fun and frolic-y account of an early-bird who scoots out of bed before his moms are even awake! Luckily the family cat is on hand to supervise some breakfast eating. Very cute picture book.

I loved this cute story and the super cute illustrations! I think toddlers will love this book. In comparison to the other board book this author/illustrator duo is releasing, I think I preferred the bedtime story. But this book was still wonderful and so colorful!

This was the PERFECT morning story for kids. Bedtime stories are so common in children's literature, so I am delighted to see that this is a story set in the morning. Furthermore, I adored the diversity! It's great that the author touched on same sex couples in such a profound way, It's deemed as normal in the book, which is lovely to see! My only complaint is that it was a bit too short for any child to be completely invested in the story. Nevertheless, the illustrations where fun, and the story was fast-paced!

This was a cute board book. We see a young child's morning routine while the rest of the house is asleep. The family includes two moms. The cat is also awake so we see the child and cat eat breakfast. The text is rhyming but I feel it stumbles at one point. The text and routine of the young child make this board book better suited to older toddlers. The illustrations are nice and bright.

Great rhyming, cute illustrations, and I loved the depiction of an average day in a family. However, the story itself isn't the most exciting (understandably). I think it is a great book to read to kids in Prek-K.

The rhyming in this one actually works! How refreshing! This is a cute little story about an independent little boy who wakes up before his family and finds himself hungry. The little boy on the cover of this book looks like my sons, so I was hoping for a story I loved. I enjoyed reading it, but it fell a little short of love.

This board book has enjoyable cadence of rhyme and bright, colourful, kid-friendly illustrations that are delightful. A little boy's tummy is rumbling so he and his beloved cat quietly tiptoe downstairs, as not to wake up the rest of family, and fixes his own breakfast to solve his hunger problem all on his own. The story is simple and relatable. I was happy to discover that it wasn't the typical "oh look at the mess he made" theme but one where a little guy shows care and respect by not disturbing his family member's slumber and responsibly getting together his breakfast. I also love how he includes his cat and shares his meal with him. I highly recommend this book.

Another winner from Schimel and Brasliņa! This adorable book follows a young boy getting ready for bed before anyone in his house. I adored the cadence of the rhyme and the bright coloring, which was perfect for a good morning tale. This belongs right beside Bedtime, Not Playtime! for any child's shelf.

I LOVE this book cover! The illustrations in this little book are wonderful and really drew me in. The smug looks on their faces at the end of the book cracked me up.

This was a delightful book. It was nice seeing the boy being considerate of those still sleeping. I like the way the cat is involved in all of this, and that the all to typical disaster in the kitchen was avoided. The illustrations were wonderful.
