Lily Atwood has the perfect life, a seven year old daughter Rowan, a career as a television reporter, lots of money and fame. Her hashtag is #PerfectLily. But what the fans don't know about are the secrets in Lily's past.
One secret is the father of her daughter. Lily has been able to avoid talking about it so far by claiming privacy is necessary for the safety of her daughter. But she knows the time is coming when her daughter's questions about her father will become more insistent and she will have to share the truth.

The biggest secret though is that of her sister Cassie. Cassie disappeared twenty years ago when she was a freshman at college and Lily was just a small child. A huge investigation discovered nothing. Cassie just was there one day and the next completely off the face of the earth. Had she been kidnapped? Had she run away? Was she alive somewhere or dead within a few days of the disappearance? Lily had lived with those questions as long as she could remember but even with all her journalistic resources had never come any closer to answers.

But that may be about to change. Someone is sending Lily flowers without a signature. She is getting phone calls from a man who insists he knows everything about Cassie's disappearance and is ready to talk about it. Is he real or a stalker who wants to get close to Lily? Is he the man who stole Cassie and now ready to take Rowan's mother away from her also?

This thriller was fast paced and intriguing. The story is told through interlocking chapters of the past and the present and in the voices of Lily, Cassie and Lily's producer, Greer. The mysteries of the long ago crimes are fully revealed with surprises for the reader along the way. This book is recommended for thriller readers.

Perfection is the theme surrounding Lily, a perfect newscaster.
Greer, Lily’s producer, focuses on keeping Lily perfect. Keeping her own job depends on it. Greer often tells herself “Perfection is in the perception.”
Lily’s life would be perfect if it wasn’t for the fact Cassie, disappeared when Lily was age 7.
Those women! They’re suckered by strange men.

Absolutely loved this book. It sucked me in from the getgo and had me guessing all the way to the end. Did not want it to end at all.

This is a solid suspense novel with several twists that kept the story exciting. I enjoy Hank Phillipi Ryan's writing, and this is a great addition to a stellar selection.

I received an advance copy. All thoughts are my own.

The synopsis of ‘Her Perfect Life’ really appealed to me: Lily Atwood is a TV reporter with a huge and loyal following on social media, but then her secret story source begins to hint that they also know her biggest secret. Her world could come crumbling down if she cannot stop the truth from coming out.
The rise in social media thrillers recently has given the genre a modern twist but with that added element of invaded privacy it usually adds an extra layer of threat. Unfortunately I felt that in this story it wasn’t used to its best as a plot device; early on a reporter like Lily should have been able to pick up on some of the clues as to the identity of her source. I didn’t mind the use of multiple narratives, nor that Lily isn’t a particularly likeable character as most of my favourite thrillers have unfavourable MCs, I just felt there was something missing that stopped me racing through to the end. A good thriller but not an all time favourite.

I usually enjoy books by this author, but I have to admit I had a hard time with this one. it was slower, seemed repetitive, and I just didn't connect with the characters. It wasn't horrible, though, and once I got over the beginner it got better. Did take me a while to get through, but I'm glad I finally did.

I love a good thriller, but this wasn't one of them. At 15% I was ready to call it quits, again at 45% I asked myself, why are you still reading this? I persevered until the end and was thoroughly disappointed. My main question is, how can the main characters who report the news so gullible?

DNF - Did not finish. I did not connect with the writing style or plot and will not be finishing this title. Thank you, NetGalley and Publisher for the early copy!

I absolutely adore Hank and had so much fun getting to chat about this novel with her! She was absolutely hilarious, well spoken, and caring! Learning more about her novel & her history was such an incredible experience that I was very fortunate to take part of! 💗

the second photo is the overbook collage for this live created by the wonderful @ who has brought us all together!

the third photo is me with the novel since Hank stopped mid interview to point out that she thought I looked like Lily on the cover… I don’t know how much I see if but when the author says it themselves you gotta believe it 😂

rating: 3 ⭐️
I recommend this novel to individuals who enjoy twisty-turny thrillers, fans of “The Therapist” or “You Are Not Alone,” and those who appreciate multiple POV where you never know who to trust!!

The beginning of the book started slow; about the middle of the story got interesting getting to know more characters, but then it fell flat. A few things were not plausible, and there was no mystery; I could tell pretty early the direction the story was going, with no twists and turns.

Her Perfect Life is an edge of your seat thriller, that will make your brain spin the whole way through. For most of the book, I really wasn't sure what even was happening or what I was supposed to be following. It flip flops between the two sisters and the past and present. I didn't really like any of the characters, they were all seriously flawed in the worst ways and the story was hard to keep track of.

I'm giving this 3 stars because once the last 25% or so rolled around, I really enjoyed the twisty reveals and the confusion cleared up a bit!

Hmmm... I have some kind of bumpy start with this story! I liked the impactful opening: summarizing the family drama about missing sister which was emotional and promising start for me . But after the powerful beginning, I pushed myself a little to understand what’s going on: who is the secret resource, who is the detective, what the hell is going on at this story! Why the characters mostly acted like suffering from constipation, why they insisted not to see the things standing in front of them! They kept reaching the wrong conclusions about everything!

Moly!!! The twists and shockers just kept coming throughout this book! I loved every one! I loved the alternating chapters and going back and forth from the past and the present. What a twisty wild ride!

Love to read Hank Phillippi Ryan’s books and this one is my new favorite one! I love how well all the characters are written and they seem to just jump off the pages. This is a page turner at its best. Grab yourself a copy and find a comfy place to read. Thanks for writing such a great book!

This book was more chilling than I expected. I knew there would be a darkness based on the description, but I had no idea where the story was going. Everything lined up perfectly and was hard to guess. The characters were distant enough that you couldn't really trust anyone, but close enough that you still cared. Great read!

Lily Atwood is an Emmy Award winning journalist. She is a single mother. Her older sister disappeared when Lily was seven. All aspects of Lily's life are controlled and polished in order to maintain the illusion that Lily is Perfect. Living in the public eye is precarious especially when there are secrets in Lily's past that threaten to destroy everything she has built.

Who is telling the truth? What does everyone want? What really happened?

The book is written with alternating narrators and in dual timelines. I never saw the end coming. This was a great read.

Her Perfect Life is not perfect. I have enjoyed Hank Phillippi Ryan's books before, and this is no different. I like the dual POV, the twists and turns and getting to know the characters. This would be a good book club choice.
Thanks to Forge Books and NetGalley for this ARC for my honest opinion.

Hank Phillippi Ryan’s "Her Perfect Life" introduces us to Lily, an Instagram-worthy, single momma, Emmy-winning news reporter in the city of Boston. Lily has a secret weapon when obtaining her juiciest stories, but when that secret weapon threatens to shatter #PerfectLily, what will she try to do to keep the perfect strings of her life from unraveling?
I am personally a fan of the multiple narration point of views, which is how this novel is formatted. It adds suspense to the story while also giving an in depth look into multiple characters. Ryan’s writing was dynamic, with twists and turns that leave you breathless. "Her Perfect Life" left me in awe at the ending, and I think any fan of suspenseful thrillers will feel the same.
Special thank you to NetGalley and Hank Phillippi Ryan for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
