This book truly lives up to its fluffy cover and title. I felt in safe hands for this author to deliver a cute and wholesome happily-ever-after ending.
I really loved both main characters, they each had their own problems and past to deal with but ultimately were simply likeable, of course they fell for each other!
I loved the quasi-Disney theme park where Lacey works and her passion for her princess job. The only criticism I had was I thought the declaration at the end was a little rushed, I would have liked to see Henry say a few more romantic things to Lacey in private before the big ball.

This was a wonderful real life fairytale. Quick read and of course predictable but we don’t read HEA stories for the intrigue. I loved the characters, the storyline was smooth and sweet, and definitely PG rated.

This book definitely wasn't what I was expecting. It was a cute, royal romance, yes. But it was more than that. It was the stereotypical book we all think of. There was more to this romance than just cute and princessy!

Initial Thoughts/Expectations:
Recently, I’ve talked with friends about what we’re looking for when it comes to a summer book to escape in to. I personally look for a book that’s light, happy, and almost always has a romantic angle. With Once Upon a Royal Summer, the title alone grabbed my attention, but when you add in a potential secret identity and forbidden lovers scenario into the mix I just knew this was a book I wanted to get my hands on as soon as possible.

What I Loved
I loved the escapism into two incredibly fun and fanciful worlds. We start out in a fairytale theme park with everyone in character ready to impress a visiting prince and his daughter and wind up being swept away to a beautiful foreign country and staying in a real royal palace. If that’s not an epic summer adventure, then I don’t know what is! Lacy’s job as a princess in an amusement park was enchanting and it brought up a lot of fun memories from being a kid and getting lost in make-believe. Her character was a delight and her deeply touching reasons for wanting to dress up as Princess Sweetpea made this more than just a book about a woman falling for a prince. She had substance and intelligence and wasn’t just a pretty girl in a dress, even though it would be easy to write her off as such.
The attraction between Henry and Lacy was instant, but because they had a child in tow they weren’t able act on anything. I LOVE when there are all these sparks and yet our main characters must be content with accidental touches and longing glances. I knew we wouldn’t be getting a whole lot of spicy in a Hallmark book, but a good writer can make you feel all sorts of things without taking it to the bedroom. Teri Wilson managed to blend the perfect amount of passion in with the sweet and I appreciated all the subtleties she wrote into the book.
Rose and Lacy’s bond was so authentic and pure. Kids in books can make it or break for me, but Rose was just so darn cute. She was wise and mature beyond her years, but still retained her childlike innocence. Everyone wanted to make her trip memorable, so they really threw themselves into the fairytale act. This resulted in Lacy and Henry dropping their guard and being able to genuinely relax because it was all make-believe.

What I Didn’t Love
Once Lacy arrived in Bella-Moritz our happy little family was no longer together 24/7 and I missed their bond immensely. Our trio spent several days together from sunup to sundown, but it was time for Prince Henry and Princess Rose to get back to their real life and royal duties. They still had a few run ins together, but the magic of being at the amusement park had dimmed a little. It made sense plot wise to allow them a little breathing room, but selfishly I wanted more Lacy and Henry time. The attention shift allowed us to see how much Henry and Rose benefited from their time abroad. Henry started to be a more hands on father, which made him realize his little girl had needs outside of just learning how to be a future ruler. I adored their father-daughter relationship right from the start and was happy to see them grow closer.

Final Thoughts/Recommendation:
Once Upon a Royal Summer took me back to the excitement of make-believe worlds and fairytales. I enjoyed this extra-sweet contemporary romance novel and thought it was the perfect summer weekend read to get swept away in. If you’re looking for something classic Hallmark with a modern feel then I would absolutely recommend that you read this book!

This book was exactly what I needed.
I accidentally read a couple of heavy books almost back to back and I wanted something that was guaranteed to make me happy. This fit the bill perfectly.

When Lacey was a little girl, her mom was very sick. Before she passed away, Lacey spent a lot of time in hospitals with her. On special occasions, a group of women dressed as fairytale princesses visited the hospital and it made Lacey’s day. It remains a special memory to her.

As an adult, she works as a princess at a theme park. She’s been doing the job for years and she is the very embodiment of a princess. Her friends love this about her but her boyfriend thinks it’s silly. He doesn’t get it. Lacey realizes he does get her either and she breaks up with him. His parting words ironically include, and I’m paraphrasing, “you’re not a real princess and you’re not going to have a prince show up on a white horse”.

Ironically, just a short time later a real prince does show up at the park for his daughter’s birthday. Without knowing who he is, Lacey bonds with his daughter.

The next day her boss tells her about the prince and princess and assigns Lacey to personally escort the two of them (and their bodyguard) around the park.

Real royalty meets fairy tale royalty and it’s absolutely adorable.

I won’t say anything else so I don’t spoil anything but Lacey is a sweetheart, and the prince is definitely a real Prince Charming.

Incredibly sweet. You can’t help but smiling.

I got to read an early ebook edition from NetGalley. Thanks!

If you love Hallmark movies, this is a book for you.
Hallmark Publishing has great books!
This is a delicious story.
Lacey plays a princess at a theme park. Henry is a real life crown prince and a single dad.
Let the hijinks commence. LOL
It’s just so much fun.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an arc in exchange for my honest review.

This book lives up to it promise of fairy tale romance. I have read other books by Teri Wilson and really enjoyed her writing- but this book was just not my cup of "royal" tea I suppose. It was a too over the top mix of fairy tales (Cinderella, Princess and the Pea, even Belle) for my liking and the ending felt rushed. If you are looking for a fun, light hearted, happy-ever-after, with little storyline and charter development, this is it. I hope you enjoy it.

Also, annoying to me is that there is no yellow dress in this book. The story repeatedly mentions the pink princess dress and then a lilac gown, and a blue gown... no yellow gown like the cover depicts.

(2.5 stars) Enjoyable to read with an intriguing opposites attract plot. Too short for my liking and this lacked the substance it needed to be a great read.

If you are looking for a feel good read this is it! I absolutely adored this book!

This story takes place at a theme park very similar to Disney World. Lacey who plays Princess Sweet Pea is just your average theme park Princess. She then meets a man and his 7 year old daughter Rose at a tea party. During this time he is wearing a baseball hat. Lacey talks to his daughter about being a Princess and Rose is amazed all while her father makes some comments and laughs at the fairytale Princess. Lacey gets her revenge and picks him to waltz with her in front of everyone at the tea party.

The next day Lacey gets called into the manager’s office and is requested to be a personal park escort for 7 year old Rose and her father, who happens to be a real prince! Over several days Lacey develops a bond with 7 year old Rose and her father Prince Henry.

The story later unfolds to Lacey and Prince Henry becoming close and Lacey later be invited to visit Prince Henry and and Princess Rose . They bring the best of each other and get their happy ending!

Holy adorable! Lacey and Henry's love story was so easy to fall for. I had no idea that a theme park princess turned real life princess was exactly what I needed this summer but here I am. I absolutely love that Henry's daughter Rose was a major part of the story because she is adorable and won my heart. This was such a fun and whimsical read. I honestly expect nothing less from Teri Wilson. If you're a Hallmark fan and/or a fan of the royalty trope, this one is for you!

Lacey is a Princess, a theme park princess "Princess Sweet Pea", meeting a real prince. Your regular Hallmark movie plot!
It was a nice reading break I guess! Who doesn't like a princess love story from time to time! A modern fairytale..
And he declared his love, asked her to marry him and then kissed her for the first time in that order. So yeah.. It was kinda sweet..

It has the vibes of a happy optimistic Cinderella without all the stepmother cruelty (thankfully I was in the mood while reading it, if I weren't I would have definitely hated it!)
Overlooking a lot of the details, it was a nice read (including how everyone spoke English in a "French speaking Kingdom")

Before I jump into this review, there are 2 things you should know about me. 1) I love most things Hallmark movies and books. There are the occasional ones I don’t like, and I find that I tend to shy away from the “royal” books and movies that are out there. 2) I fell in love with Teri Wilson when I read Christmas Charms. Will I be reading her back catalog? Yes. Will I immediately grab any new book she writes? Also yes.

I did start this story a bit skeptical, as I have not enjoyed many of the royal movies during my Countdown to Christmas. Everything about this book changed my mind immediately as we dove right into everything we know and love about Hallmark romances. We meet Lacey, who is the princess at a fairy-tale theme park, and her just-doesn’t-understand-her boyfriend. We meet Henry, who is not just a real prince, but who is also a father to a little girl who is about to embark on all things royal. He whisks her off to America to a certain fairy-tale theme park. Hmmm…what could possibly happen besides spending time with his daughter?

The way that Lacey and Henry meet had me chuckling and I knew that this was a story that I would not be able to put down. Lacey is then assigned to be their tour guide for the duration of their trip, and gets to know both Henry and Rose on a personal level. We also get to take a trip to Bella-Moritz!

All the classic Hallmark moments are there, from great side characters (I see you Ava and Ian!), hurdles to cross, royal customs that give you fish out of water feelings and a Queen who can’t see past her families traditions.

I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars! It had me wanting to travel to a theme park, meet some theme park royalty and have my own summer adventures. A big thank you to Hallmark Publishing for providing a free digital copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review!

Once Upon a Royal Summer is just the sweet royal romance that I didn't know I needed... but that I absolutely without a doubt did! First of all, I just adored this concept---- a theme park princess meets a real life prince and they fall in love. It really is the quintessential Hallmark story, isn't it!? (Seriously, Hallmark, can we get a movie of this one!? I'd watch it over and over...and over again!) Beyond that though, it was just executed really well! The chemistry between Lacey and Henry was absolutely fantastic and I found myself smiling throughout the story. Was it perhaps a little predictable? Sure! And yes, there's a 'twist' at the end that I must admit I saw coming from a mile away... and yet, I still found myself enjoying every second of it nonetheless! While a completely unique story, I couldn't help but be reminded of why I loved books like The Princess Diaries as a teenager! It was a sweet romance, with fantastic characters that I thoroughly enjoyed! I need more books like this one in my life, without a doubt!

**I received a complimentary copy of this book for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

Lacy's job is to dress up as Princess Sweet Pea at an amusement park called Once Upon A Time. One Day Lacy meets a Prince and Princess from a different country, unknown to her. At the end of a Royal Waltz attractions are developed. Lacy is tasked at work to show Prince Henry and Princess Rose around for the 4 days they will be visiting the theme park. I loved this book. The characters were so loveable, Lacey is relatable. I was hooked from the beginning, it's a fun, easy and fast read. This book made me laugh, made me feel sad at parts and made me root for the couple. This is the romance I look for, clean romance. Teri Wilson is new to me, I will definitely be looking at her other books. I highly recommend this book.

Super grateful to be given a copy from the writer, the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for a review.

The book is a modern day romance between a real life prince and a pretend princess. To me, it's more relatable to the world now. I always love a dashing prince charming and a commoner, they fell in love and live their happily ever after. The story and the characters tick all of the boxes. Not so many characters involved for a short story, which is good. What i would like to see more is the romantic conversation, or gestures between the leads. What i dislike is they just have their first kiss at the very last paragraph and the story ends - what's a romance without a kiss, right? Otherwise, it would have been an easy 5 stars from me

This was such a fun read!! It was light and breezy and I ended up finishing it in just one sitting. The characters were really wholeshome and the entire vibe of the book was like a warm hug. This is exactly the kind of story you need on a rainy day with a cup of hot chocolate by your side. This totally felt like the plot of a Hallmark movie that was written as a book.

There is so much I love about this, but the best thing is the growth of the Queen's character and how she ended up playing such a huge role in getting the couple together. That was just amazing.

I also loved all the fairy-tale references that were dropped in the story in one way or the other. Made the story even more endearing.

Overall, such a fun and happy read. Love it so much! ❤

This was a sweet, Hallmark type story. Laney plays Princess Sweet Pea at an amusement park and a real live price & his daughter came to the park. In a series of events Laney is showing Henry & Rose all over the park for a series of days getting to know them. Henry have in return invites Laney & her friend Ava to his hometown for the Flower Festival & ball. Of course there is a happily ever after.
