Once Upon a Royal Summer is everything you could want in a feel good summer read! Author Teri Wilson introduces us to Lacey who works at a Florida theme park as "Princess Sweet Pea". She loves her job and really enjoys how happy kids are to meet her since she always pictured herself as a real princess growing up. One day she meets Rose and her Dad Henry. A great summer read and makes you believe that dreams really can come true!

Once Upon a Royal Summer by Teri Wilson is a charming modern fairy tale. Following a theme park princess and an undercover prince, this one contains humour, heart, and a compelling main character. The theme park setting makes the book special, bringing both conflict and comedy to the story. This is a short and sweet read that is perfect to bring to the beach.

Working as a princess at a theme park, Lacey has seen it all. However, when a single dad and his daughter attend her tea party, she never expects him to be an undercover prince. When his young daughter falls in love with Lacey, she becomes their personal guide, and grows closer with the prince at the same time. What follows is a classic Hallmark story with entertaining twists, heartwarming scenes, and a sweet romance.

❀ A THEME PARK PRINCESS

Lacey is such a kind character, and I loved following her as she works her dream job. She is committed to joy, and she has such wholesome interactions with the kids at the park. I also liked how she stands up for herself, refusing to let people call her career choice immature. What I especially enjoyed is the way the author delves into Lacey’s backstory, explaining why working as a theme park princess is so important to her.

❀ SETTING IS A FUN COMPLEMENT TO THE STORY

One of my favourite aspects of the book is its setting. Amusement parks bring so much fun to a story, and Once Upon a Time makes the story immersive. In this case, the setting complements the prince’s storyline well, providing an escape from royal duties and creating an interesting tension between two types of royalty.

❀ AN UPLIFTING MODERN FAIRY TALE

Once Upon a Royal Summer by Teri Wilson is an uplifting modern fairy tale. I enjoyed the concept of a theme park princess and a real prince, and the main character stays true to herself. The theme park setting further enhances the story, creating tension and immersing the reader. This is a sweet summer read perfect for those looking for a heartwarming romance.

I NEED Hallmark to turn this book into a movie. It was completely adorable from start to finish. The concept of a theme park princess meeting a real life prince was so fun. Lacey was a theme park princess worthy of any fairytale. Henry was the perfect dashing prince. Added to the mix was Rose, Henry’s daughter, and she adds such a wonderful dynamic to the story. I loved the creativity that went into the theme park and the constant references to fairytales. I enjoyed this story from the first page and will be recommending it to all my Hallmark-loving friends.

This was such a sweet romance that left my heart feeling so warm and full. The story really played in 3 acts for me and though I would love to see act 4 and the happily ever after, the ending felt perfect and complete (almost like a fairytale). I’m a sucker for a royal romance and this didn’t disappoint.

If you're like me and you enjoy reading about royalty, then Once Upon a Royal Summer does not disappoint!

I've always found theme parks to be exciting and so reading about Lacey's job as a theme park princess was so fun. Her job is especially important to her because when she was a kid and her mother was sick, she would see characters from the local theme park come in and visit kids in the pediatric unit. It meant so much to her and as an adult, it brings her joy that she can put smiles on all the faces of the kids who come to see her.

Lacey is a truly kind person and I enjoyed reading about her. Her kindness (as well as her spunk) are what attracts Henry to her, when he visits the theme park with his daughter. Lacey at first bonds with his daughter, but she soon captures his attention as well. Henry hasn't experienced much in the way of dating since his ex wife passed, but he can't seem to keep his feelings for Lacey away.

Once Upon a Royal Summer is a really cute story that has a lot going on, so before I close out this review, I thought I would share a few of my favorite moments with you.

+ I loved how the relationship developed between Lacey and Henry's Mom. At first, the Queen is very skeptical of Lacey. A theme park princess is no match for her son! But she soon comes to realize what a great influence Lacey has on Henry and how important she is to her granddaughter. When the Queen helped Lacey get ready for the ball in the end it make me very happy.

+ I love a good side romance, so it made me smile how Lacey's friend Ava and Henry's bodyguard kind of hit it off when they met at the palace. All good romances have side characters falling in love too!

+ Henry's daughter is absolutely adorable and it made me laugh how right after Lacey arrives at their palace, the two get together for a slumber party with pillow forts. It kind of reminded me of in The Princess Diaries 2 when Princess Mia (Anne Hathaway) has her slumber party and all of the princesses go mattress surfing. Haha.

My only critique is that to me, the ending felt rushed. Without spoiling the ending, I enjoyed the final scene, but I also felt like the story could have used an epilogue. I wanted to know more about Lacey and Henry's future together! But that's just me.

So, so , so good! I loved this sweet story! Completely predictable in the very best way! The audiobook and the printed book are equally good! Great summer read for people that love a good clean romance.

Doesn’t every little girl dream of being a princess when they’re grown up? Well in Once Upon A Royal Summer Lacey Pope gets to be Princess Sweet Pea in a magical Florida theme park, This is the perfect role for Lacey, who brings smiles to plenty of faces as she welcomes visitors to her tea parties, teaches people to waltz and instructs them in the rules of being royal, rules like “Make friends with birds and butterflies” and “Always be kind”. I just loved her. Crown Prince Henry Frederick Augustus Rainier Chevalier is widower with a six year old daughter whom he loves to bits. He wants to give Rose an experience of childhood for her seventh birthday, a complete change from their royal palace and all its associated rules. I loved that despite being a royal with many commitments he loved his daughter to bits and wanted to make her life as normal as possible, including offering her a theme park visit for her birthday. This story was a truly charming twist on two of my favourite fairytales, Cinderella and The Princess and the Pea. I smiled my way through the book and was sorry to say goodbye at the end.

Once Upon A Royal Summer is as cute as the cover. This is over the top cliche, silly, sweet, clean and adorable. So if you want a realistic romance this is not it. If you are happy with putting your brain on hold and enjoying a Hallmark sweet story, you will love this.

Henry the Royal Prince of Bella_Mortiz (near Nice) brings his daughter the Princess Rose to an American theme park for her seventh birthday. There he meets Lacey who plays Princess Sweet Pea at the park. When Rose is enchanted with the Princess the park managers arrange for Lacey in full costume to lead the VIPs around the park.

I would have liked for Henry and Lacey to have a little more time together or maybe go on an actual date. But I love Lacey's kindness and her falling back on her Princess ideals to help the royal family. The entire book only covers a few weeks and of course ends unrealistically with a potential HEA. But I enjoyed this easy short read and read it in just a couple of hours. Thank you to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for an ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoy this book when I need a light hearted book to sparkle up my day. Lacey Pope works as Princess Sweet Pea in a theme park. One day her fairy tale started when a Royal Crown Prince Henry and his daughter Princess Rose visited the theme park for a holiday on Rose's birthday. Lacey might have just broken up with her almost fiance but she doesn't suffer from much heartache and good riddance to her no good bf. She deserves the prince more. The prince is so shy yet sweet at the same time. His child is so cute. I turn the page quickly to find out more about the story and how it would end. I managed to finish this book in 2 days.

This is a very sweet royal novel that reads like a hallmark movie. Lacey loves playing a princess at the Once Upon A Time Theme Park. It reads like a Disney park but with fairy tale creatures and stories instead. It definitely a feel good romance with a dashing single dad prince and a little girl that yearns for more family time. When Henry ends up at the theme park he thought he was giving Rose the best birthday party ever but he got more in return.

A theme park princess and a real-life prince fall in love! This had a lot of things I loved including a theme park setting, Florida, and a made-up European country. The relationship developed in the first half between Lacey and Henry was adorable. Their join concern about his daughter Rose had me going "awwww." It felt like both of the MCs were well developed and had interesting backstories that shaped their current actions.

Highly recommend for any lover of Hallmark movies, sweet romance, and theme park love.

Thank you to NetGalley, Teri Wilson and Hallmark Publishing for the opportunity to read this book.

I enjoy how Teri Wilson can write such a sweet romance, and a perfect one for the summer.

Once Upon A Time there was a young woman who love her job as a princess in a fairytale theme park, till somethings don't go as she thought with her boyfriend, but she knows her job is important for her.
What she was not expecting was that for a few days she will be the host of a very important guest in her theme park: a real Prince with her 6 year old adorable daughter. Henry just wants a few days for her dauther to have a life like a normal kids, not to feel the preasure of a mini adult. What he's not expecting is how much their host is going to change their lives.

I enjoyed it. It would be an interesting book for a Hallmark movie. the only things missing would be more scenes. I want to know more, the end is too short for this lovely couple. Hope there is a sequel?

Lacey Pope spends her days playing make-believe, as resident princess at a major Florida theme park. When a real prince brings his daughter to visit the park as a birthday gift, Lacey is roped into being their VIP tour guide, and love starts to blossom between Lacey and Prince Henry.

This is SUPER sweet. Like candyfloss tooth rotting stuff… but there are a few deeper messages hidden beneath all the glitter. Like kindness and integrity being the kind of character traits which mark true nobility of character, no matter what kind of family you happen to have been born into.

It’s VERY Hallmark, by which I mean it’s so squeaky clean that the first time the romantic couple kiss is at the very end of the book, AFTER the marriage proposal, which… honestly feels pretty unrealistic in today’s world. Who proposes, claiming to be in love with someone, having never even kissed them? In a fairy-tale romance, that felt like the most contrived part. However, if you’re looking for a super-clean romance to give to a tween or young teen who’s interested in reading romance, for example, this would probably be right up their street.

I read an ARC which had a few odd errors, like the character Madeline’s name randomly changing to Madison a few times, but I’ll give the publisher the benefit of the doubt and assume these will be corrected by the time of publication. Four stars for a very sweet, fairytale royal romance.

I understand that hallmark type books are cheesy in the over the top lovey dovey acts, but this book ending ruined the whole book for me honestly. Not even slightly realiStic and just so over the top to have the character trying to run away over a dress and then the ending before either has ever kissed or admitted their feelings immediately proposing was just awful.

As a Disney Parks fan, I will read any book that takes place at a theme park in Florida. I enjoyed this super sweet romance. It has the best friend, cute kid, fun setting, forbidden romance with a happily ever after. You get the story from both character perspectives, which I really like in a romance novel. This one was fun and if you are a Disney fan, it is a must read. I’d love to see it made into an actual Hallmark movie (taking place during Christmas of course).

A sweet and cozy enjoyable story. It's a combination of Disney and Hallmark feel to it. When a woman who plays a princess at a theme park meets a real prince with a sweet 7 yr. old daughter, you find yourself lost in the fantasy and like to believe dreams do come true and wonder ....will they live happily ever after.
A nice, heartwarming , sweet story that is a great feel good book to read and enjoy.

This book is exactly the book you would expect from Hallmark Publishing.

I decided to try it on a whim because I had heard good things about Teri Wilson's writing (Accidental Beauty Queen is on my TBR!) and I loved the premise: a theme park princess falling for a real prince! But I do think this would have been better enjoyed as a Hallmark movie, where it's easier to suspend reality when swathed in the visuals of castles and frothy ballgowns.

But in the end, I did enjoy this book. It was light and fluffy, extremely feel-good. A hot widowed prince with an adorable daughter and a theme park princess with a heart of gold? What's not to love?

If I had one critique, it would be the ending. SPOILER ALERT, but it ends in an engagement. After they're known each other two weeks. And I don't think they were even dating any of that time? And he's a crown prince. I mean, come on. That's just nonsensical. I would have been just as happy--even happier--if they had just decided to start a relationship. Would have made the entire story a modicum more plausible.

Thanks to Hallmark Publishing and NetGalley for my eARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

4 stars - 6/10

I adore Hallmark movies and this was my first book from Hallmark Publishing. It did not disappoint! This is a book for readers who like predictable, romantic, happily-ever-after books.

Henry, HRH of Bella-Mortiz (in France), takes his daughter, Rose, to an American theme park for her 7th birthday. There, they meet Lacey, who plays Princess Sweet Pea at the park. Lacey is unexpectedly requested by the park CEO to be the VIP escort for Rose and Henry. The sparks fly and Lacey ends up falling for Henry and Rose when visiting the palace in France.

This is a mixture of all different fairy tales with a real-life Prince Charming ending! My only “complaint” is the first part of the book resembled Disney World a little to closely for my liking. In my opinion, I think the park should have been set in New England, not Florida, to set it apart. This is a total personal preference so take it a grain of salt 😉.
