Another adorable instalment in the series. With adorable and beautiful illustrations and a short but fun introduction into who RuPaul is and what he does, I live this series so much for getting my kids to learn about people they may never have interest in at a young age otherwise,

This time Little People Big Dreams hit it out of the park with their story on RuPaul. The things the story does right is that it’s entertaining and it’s modern. They keep the pronouns moving depending on which RuPaul they are talking about whether the man or the drag queen. I do wish they had taken the time to explain what drag was instead of just saying they were the best drag queen. Overall, this book is highly successful, and it feels like RuPaul would be proud of what is in these pages. Since this is a person who is modern and still living, the pictures in the back would have been better if they were in color like they naturally are.

Like other books in this series, it is a fun little introduction to inspiring people. Definitely a great way to introduce kids to biographies and a nice read for adults too. I would recommend all the books in this series.

RuPaul by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara explores the life of yet another inspirational person. From a young age, RuPaul knew he would be famous. His favourite thing was to dress up, and he would go on to study performance art. Eventually, dressing in drag became a way for him to fully express himself.

The end of the book contains a more detailed look at life, using language suited for much older readers. Inspirational and educational both, this entire series is great! I read this with my cubs. We love this series! Highly recommended!

I loved learning more about Rupaul I'm this 'little people, big dreams' book. I knew rupaul from 'rupauls drag race', but didn't know about his career prior to his show. I enjoyed learning about his childhood and how he found fame.

The books in this series offer great introductions to famous people for pre-K to 1st or 2nd grade readers, and this volume is no exception. We get an overview of RuPaul's life here, from being raised by an open-minded mom that didn't force him into gender defined behavior to becoming the most famous drag queen in the world. The artwork throughout is colorful, bold, and whimsical, and there's a timeline at the end of important events in RuPaul's life. I love the message of Ru's life- "Don't ever think we are born just to fit into a box, we are born to stand out."

Free ARC from NetGalley.

This is a book in the Little People, Big Dreams series. A short and easy illustrated biography on the life of the amazing drag-artist RuPaul.

I love RuPaul after seeing all the seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race, and it was interesting to read more about his life than you get to see on the show. He's done so much for the trans and gay community and its so awesome!

I really like how this book tells children about someone who isn't defined as normal. I think this could be a great series of books for little ones.

RuPaul is just the best! This is a person that can be themselves. At a young age, RuPaul liked to dress up, be dramatic, and be glamorous. As an adult, RuPaul moves to NYC, starts dressing up in bold clothing and looking like a stylish woman. I always think of Fun when I think of RuPaul.

This is the type of book that could really impact a child who may feel very out of place and different. It is a reminder that there is room in life for all different types of people. RuPaul is just not afraid of living life as wanted.

So, this is another terrific book in the Little People, Big Dreams Series. I loved the book and recommend this series for schools and libraries. Children need to see all types of people in life achieving their goals.

So, thank you NetGalley, Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, and Frances Lincoln Books for a copy of this terrific book.

'RuPaul' with words by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara and illustrations by Wednesday Holmes is a biography in the Little People BIG DREAMS series for younger readers.

RuPaul was born in San Diego and a fortune-teller predicted fame. RuPaul lived with a mother and three sisters and learned lessons from them that would continue on in to rock bands, drag and beyond.

I really like this series and this is an interesting subject. I like the art. It had a retro 1970s vibe I liked.

I received a review copy of this ebook from Quarto Publishing Group-Frances Lincoln Children's Books, and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.

WoW! Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara books must be one of the best little books to purchase for children, these are the best-selling series of books and educational games that explore the lives of outstanding people, from designers and artists to scientists and activists. All of them achieved incredible things, yet each began life as a child with a dream.

So, this latest book is about RuPaul by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara and is just brilliant.

"Even before little Ru was born, a fortune teller told his mom that he would one day be famous... It was only a matter of time before he figured out how. Playing dress-up was his favorite game, and that's where he felt most comfortable. Ru went on to study performing arts and then moved to New York to mix things up in a punk band. Later, drag was a way to express himself as an artist. He found success for himself, then wanted to help others find theirs. He inspires us to do what feels right and love ourselves."

This brilliant book is witty and a wise book which features stylish and quirky bright and colourful illustrations and extra facts at the back, including a biographical timeline with historical photos and a detailed profile of the inspiring performer's life."

It's one book, you should definitely buy for your little readers so they can learn about this wonderful artist.

I am so glad these books are being published and I highly recommend all of these books

Many thanks to Quarto’s Frances Lincoln Children’s Books and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I think that this was short and sweet. I just wish there was more? I understand that these are meant to be shorter and obviously its expected that there will not be a superfluous amount of details as to the life of RuPaul, yet I still felt that this was too oversimplified. RuPaul is just so iconic I guess I wished for more, and while I saw potential for this book to get to this point, unfortunately for me it missed the mark a bit. I did however absolutely adore the art, and will continue to check out this series in the future as I do think the concept is brilliant.

With over 60 books in this series, I was thrilled to see the Ru finally got his/her turn to be the star of one of the Little People, Big Dreams books. Ru was raised by his mother and three sisters. He loved to dress up and entertain. He was not welcomed in schools and was actually asked to leave at one point. He ended up studying performing arts in Atlanta where he met a friend and fellow lover of dressing in women's clothes. They went to New York together and set the city on fire. They were wanted at all the events and Ru went on to have a television and radio show. Ru even sang a duet with his idol Diana Ross. It was his mother who encouraged him and taught him an important lesson: do what feels right to you .... and love yourself for who you are. I knew who RuPaul was, but I learned a few things about his life and what he went through. This is a very bright, cartoonish offering, and I found it a little hard to know which stylised character was Ru on some pages, but the overall impression is certainly that the wilder the colours and patterns, the better! There is just enough information in this story to whet the appetite and send the reader off to research more if they are interested. The closing quote from this book sums up RuPaul's advice to everyone: "Don't ever think we are born just to fit in a box, we are born to stand out." Another great offering in the Little People, Big Dreams series that I recommend to parents, schools, classrooms and public libraries.

RuPaul is the latest addition in the Little People, Big Dreams series by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara. I have to admit I had never heard of this person but, still enjoyed this children's story with its fun, colourful illustrations. Thanks to NetGalley for my Digital ARC.

Always amazed about people written in these series. I know a RuPaul somewhat, but have no clue who he is. A boy who loves playing dress-up, and encouraged to be whoever he wished to be, became a drag queen. A person who created magic by believing in oneself. He then inspired a lot of kids who couldn't find their ways to become themselves.

A reassurance at the back of the book said : "Don’t ever think we are born just to fit in a box, we are born to stand out."
