Fast Paced, Dramatic Storyline....
The first in the DS Max Craigie Scottish crime thriller series. A small town full of secrets, an ancient grave and a blood feud. Confidently written police procedural with credibly drawn characters and a fast paced, dramatic storyline. A promising start to a new series.

I was hooked from beginning to end and raced through this book in a couple of days. It’s clever and exciting, with likeable main characters and a fast-paced plot full of twists and turns.I’ll be looking out for more books by this writer.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC in return for an honest review which reflects my own opinion.

This gave can never be opened.

But it has. And inside is the head of one of Scotland's notorious crime families.

DS Max Craigie & DC Janie Calder. find the body. And they also find that this is a blood feud stretching back to the start of the 19th century.

But this case brings worse things with it than gangland rivalry. It brings organisational corruption, which goes to the highest level.

Genuinely exciting
