I haven't read any other books in this series, so it was confusing when I was trying to understand Jane's back story. Other than that I liked the book, but would suggest reading the prior books in the series to enjoy it fully.

I loved this entry in the Hazards of Dukes series. Book 3 was a bit of a let down but book 4 came back with vengeance. I love how strong Jane becomes and the storyline of a man needing to marry for money instead of the woman is a breath of fresh air. I also appreciated how much more sexually adventurous the characters are.

Thomas Sharpe is as handsome as he is broke (very), and needs to marry an heiress to save his family from poverty. He also happens to be best friends with Lady Jane Capel's brother, so when he sees her at a gaming club, he vows to protect her. Lady Jane was jilted two years ago and has been on the outskirts of society ever since; but no more! She wants to experience all the fun that her independence can offer, so she makes a deal with Thomas; she will help him secure a wealthy bride if he brings her to all the interesting places a single lady shouldn't go alone, and if he teaches her a bit about intimacy.

One partner teaching the other about romance while there is an ~insurmountable~ reason why they can't end up together, is one of my favorite tropes in regency romances and Frampton does it very well. Overall I liked the characters and the plot (I could have done without the brothel scene, but I get why it was there), and even though they were on the periphery, I liked that Frampton included some LGBTQ+ characters (would love to see their stories someday!)

Overall I would recommend this book and I'm excited to dig in to the rest of this series!
