Thank you NetGalley for the eARC. This book was a little triggering for me at time but I did get through most of it. I did have to put it down here and there but I did enjoy it

This book started off as intriguing and promised sexy vibes. It had a slight 'Cruel Intentions' vibe about it -a step brother and sister who can't stand each other but have an underlying tension.

However, I had to DNF it because it swiftly became disturbing and glorified sexual violence in a way that made me feel physically uncomfortable to read.
Rich boys having a secret society where to be accepted as one of the women they protect and everyone else sees as being 'in with the elite', you have to allow them to do all the worst things to you just screamed a mixture of privilege, desperation, illusions of grandeur and self esteem/self worth issues.

Who doesn't enjoy a 'forbidden love' type of story? Because I love them, but the direction this was going in (not even with the main characters - just the rich kids that the brother was associated with) gave me enough to know that I had no qualms in missing out on the rest of the story.
There are certain things that just shouldn't be glorified in books. I understand that issues of sexual violence need to be addressed but not celebrated as some sort of coming of age mess.

This ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I gave this book 3 stars based on enjoyment alone. Let me just say, if you are here for plot, look elsewhere! Buttttt if you are here for some top notch smut, look no further! Isa and Flynn are step sibling who absolutely hate each other, that is until one fateful game of truth or dare that leads them down a path of mutual destruction. The plot of this was not there for me, we start out with Isa in high school, then she graduates then boom 10 years later it was just some big jumps. We get glimpses into the character pasts. It no real character development for any of them. And while I HATE cheating and accidental pregnancy is romance, I truly enjoyed the relationship between that evolves in the end. And Flynn is a dick, that’s all there is to say. Is the sex hot? Of course it is! Is there some taboo shit in this book, absolutely! Was it a good time? You bet your ass.

Intense, raw and emotionally charged! This book can trigger some. Be warned. But well worth the read!

The author includes a blunt content warning at the beginning of this book and also in the blurb and it was appreciated because it told me what I was in for and I was ready!

“This book is for mature audiences 18 +
Triggers: noncon, dubcon, menage, group s*x, abuse, cheating
Themes: enemies to lovers, dark romance, step-brother, second chance, secret society”

Don’t take that stuff lightly. It’s all in there and some of it is - whew, some of it is quite A LOT to take.

I don’t have to love or even like my characters to enjoy a book if the writing engages me. With that said, I didn’t love or like these two main characters but I could not put the thing down. They’re quite despicable much of the time and that includes both of them! This is more of a hate f*ck sort of book and sometimes that’s kind of what I want to read - as long as I know that’s what I’m getting and I did. Eventually the hate eases a bit and there is some tenderness and reluctant and unavoidable “feelings” but there’s an underlying feeling of self-hatred and self-destruction running throughout most of the story.

The story begins when the two main characters are young adults still living in the same home for a holiday (the summer? I can’t remember now because, ugh, my brain) but anyhow who cares because, yep, they’re step-siblings. Flynn spent a large part of his childhood with his drug addicted mom and he came to great harm because of it and he is filled with “darkness” and “dark urges” and is incredibly damaged. He’s also a high ranking member (the highest? I’m unsure here, shit brain, sorry) of a secret society that has sex orgies but also tries to take down monstrous people by getting dirt on them and their scummy activities and strong arming them in whatever way necessary. Isabella is his innocent step-sister who hates him for breathing and also for constantly causing her embarrassment and frustration. They both treat each other very badly but they’re tied to each other and also, well, very turned on by each other after a game of truth or dare and a forbidden kiss .

The book alternates between Flynn and Isabella’s POV so you get a good dose of both of their pissed off POV’s. There’s a lot of anger in this book and so much hurt. Prepare yourself because I do not exaggerate!

As I said, I had a hard time putting this one down. I was in the mood for a dark story with difficult characters and this one came through for me. Is it perfect? No, it’s not. I’m still not sure how I feel about the ten year jump or the secret society murdery/gangster style stuff especially in the earlier sections but only because it wasn’t as fleshed out as I wish it had been and I had SO many questions (because I’m nosy) but I *think* this story is book one of an ongoing series so I’ll read the next few and see what’s what. I also thought Flynn’s backstory was absolutely horrifying and I wish it had been revealed sooner because it would’ve made listening to him continually mention his “darkness” a bit easier to understand. I definitely DO NOT recommend it for everyone or for anyone looking for a romance because this isn’t one but I do recommend it for anyone in the mood for a very dark erotic novel because the sexual tension in this one was off the charts.

The more I “review” the more I dislike numeric ratings but I’m giving this a high three bumped up to four because it captured me and that’s why I read but please heed the warnings before jumping in!

Not one of my favourite books. The storyline between the main characters was quite good but the adult scenes seemed a bit gratuitus at times and not always well written. At times it just felt as if the scences were just strung together for the sake of it. I won'y be looking out of the next one.

I grew up in darkness, it's etched in my soul,so I have no right to touch anything as perfect as Isabella Serrano. She hates me, I thought I hated her too until one taste of the forbidden makes me question that.I'll try to break her, to take everything from her, but what she takes from me in the process, is more,so much more. When I started reading I couldn't put it down.M Jameson is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can't wait for the next book.

I did not fucking know this book was not safe to read. Because the lead characters slept with other people. Ugh!!!!!! A warning would have been nice. I absolutely do not mind neither steamy sex scenes nor taboo but what I hate in a book is lead characters having sex with other people. I don't like reading about group sex.

Untethered is a forbidden, taboo romance about Isabella and Flynn, step-siblings who have grown up hating each other. They constantly get under each other’s skin, and neither can stop. Every time Isabella tries to talk to guys, Flynn is there, never letting her get close to anyone. He claims he doesn’t want her, but why can’t he get her out of his head? And why does she do everything with the intention of making him mad?

This was a dark and wildly fascinating book. I loved Isabella and Flynn; their passion was so real, even when they tried to fight it. There was steam in almost every chapter, and y’all know I’m here for it. I love a good dark romance, and this was definitely a ride. I flew threw this book in less than a day and cannot wait to see what happens in the sequel (fingers crossed it gets announced soon!). I have not been this captivated by a book in a long time; not only was it steamy, but there was some intense action taking place. I would have loved to get a little more insight about the St. Jude group, but hopefully there will be more of that in the second book. Overall, I really enjoyed Untethered!

Trigger warnings for violence, group sex, death of parent, step-sibling relationship.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op for the ARC of Untethered by M Jameson!

Whew, is it hot in here?!? 🥵 Holy taboo goodness. I loved it! Going to have to take a look at this author and see if/what other goodies I can find. Will definitely be reading more by them. Read it I’d you’re into this type of book.

After reading Untethered all I can think is "Holy taboo!"

Welcome to the Order of St Judes, where they share their drinks and their women! As if this wasn't juicy enough it centers around a "step-sibling" enemies-to-lovers scenario that is deliciously wicked.

Flynn is your quintessential bad boy with a dark past who is incapable of emotions, Isabella is a straight-laced goodie-two-shoes who just wants to lose her V card before college.

Flynn was a complex character, being the outsider and the son of an abused prostitute, his past always weighs on his shoulders, reminding him he's tainted, that he's unworthy of love. Bella is his light against the darkness, but he lets her go before his darkness overwhelms her completely.

Bella was such a strong character, having gone through the wringer with Flynn and coming out what more than she could handle. Her strength and ability to stand strong despite her circumstances were commendable.

Now let's get down to the brass, this book was hot, I am talking hot in an uncomfortable "Hrmm is that right?" way. It features a gamut of forbidden tropes but M. Jameson has found an excellent balance between tasteful and erotic. Sure, there are orgies, LGBTQIA moments, and sexual tension dripping off the pages with consensual and non-consensual acts but the passion ignited between the characters was the real winner for me.

There is something mysterious and dangerous about the Order and readers were privy to just a slice of the power and the pleasure that can come from being a member. I am excited to read further into the St. Jude series and see what's in store for some of the other Order members.

Thank you to the author, Entangled Publishing, and NetGalley for providing me with an arc.

Trigger Warning: There are scenes depicting alcohol consumption, drug use, and overdose

Untethered is such a great quick read! I read this book in two days, it was that good. The chemistry between Bianca and Brett was amazing. Bianca and Brett are step siblings and it's forbidden to fall for your sibling, right? Not in this book! Brett has a dark back story and it was different from typical dark romances so it was refreshing. This book is definitely 18+ for mature language and situations. There were a few grammatical errors in the copy I read but nothing too crazy to deter me from continuing reading. I will definitely read the next book in this series, when it comes out later this year.
Thanks to Netgalley, M Jameson and Victory Editing Netgalley Co-op for allowing me to read this ARC. All opinions expressed here are my own and I was not compensated in any way for a honest review. #netgalley

This was definitely an interesting read. It was darker and taboo read with LOTS of sex!

With that being said, I'll start with the storyline and the pros. This story is about a step-brother and sister, who have a lot of animosity, as well as growing tension between them. She's a rich and smart princess-type and he is a monster, who's a part of a sex cult. There is a lot of dirty and depraved sex in this book, with a tiny bit of romance thrown in towards the end. The tension and scenes between the two MCs is good. Also, the mystery surrounding Flynn, the male MC is interesting.

I would read more from this author and would recommend this book to others.

I had no idea what I was getting into when I first started this book. I know it was going to be filled by sexy, angsty and dark romance but this was on another level. This is a book that I never thought I needed! This book is erotic to the core! There's forbidden love trope that I really love. I just couldn't put it down. I finished it within a day. I wished I read this book sooner. I need more! I need book 2 right now. Time please fly faster. M Jameson is a new author for me and I think will be my favorite author if the next book was as excellent as this one. I just love it so much. Thanks!

Untethered by M Jameson is the First book in the St. Jude Rules Series. This is the story of Flynn Drake and Isabella Serrano. Flynn and Isabella are step-brother and sister but they have never gotten along. Flynn is a dark young man who along with his 'friends' have a little club that is very dark and sexual. Isabella is a young women who is so different from the darkness of Flynn but after one of their fights a spark flares that neither wants but can't seem to stop it from igniting. I am usually a fan of dark romances with the forbidden taboo story line but for some reason I couldn't totally get into their story. I will be trying another book by this author.

I unfortunately didn’t finish this, I found it very difficult to read.
For me it was not clear to read or follow, I feel some will like the story and the amount of depth the book goes in to but for me it was a little all over the place and difficult to follow who I was / where I was etc.

I recieved this arc in return for an honest review.

I did not like this book, I wanted to and I tried but I managed 115 pages and then put it down not even caring if I ever picked it back up. For me the characters were all over the place, you jumped character scenes without knowing whose perspective you were in and overall I wasn't having fun reading this book.

For others I know this will be a fun read and that's what I went into it thinking it would be, a quick fun erotic romance. Instead the little plot there is is all over the place, trying to do too much, and none of it is well explained, at least not where I read to. My main hope is that others enjoy it as it was not for me.

First off I want to thank NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for providing me with a free ebook in exchange for an honest review

This was a quick read, but also a very dark one.
If you're really sensitive when it comes to blurred lines of whether the sex scenes are consensual or not - this isn't for you. Some scenes made me really uncomfortable, maybe even more so because I just had a discussion on consent in a literature class a few days earlier, but with some scenes I'm pretty sure this has been the intention all along.
Anyways, apart from the fact that this is nowhere near a lighthearted romance, I really enjoyed the writing style, the fact that we switched perspectives a lot really added to the story and the way we switched back and forth between different time-lines was a great choice as well.
Some parts were a bit rushed for my taste and I'm not really a fan of some tropes that came up later on, but it was a solid dark romance with lots of steamy scenes and I might pick up the next book at some point.
Flynn was mainly characterised by being a bad boy with a dark past and though they were making me feel very uncomfortable I was glad for the scenes of his past as they added a lot to his character.
Isa's transition from a rich good girl to a girl who's desperately trying to get laid and then back to a responsible college student however felt a bit off. It didn't feel exactly unnatural while reading, but I think I would have preferred some more context to that aspect.
I had similar problems with some of the supporting characters, but I have a feeling their motivations might be explored in future instalments.

[Spoiler-including thoughts]
Isa ending up pregnant was foreshadowed a bit too obviously when Flynn felt the need to mention how he can't help but want to fuck her without protection, so it wasn't really a surprise when motherhood was mentioned. And adding to that I personally am not a huge fan on a protagonist regularly communicating with their family via any sort of video-chat and yet somehow being able to hide a pregnancy, birth and child from them at the same time - babies won't know you're on the phone and not cry for example, it's hard to hide a toddler, so yeah, that's just a trope I'm tired of, but it might appeal to someone else, so ...

Review will be shared on bookstagram later today, link will be added then.

As a self-proclaimed forbidden romance junkie there was no way I was not reading this book once I came across it. I was intrigued and excited to read this book and now after reading my feelings are much more complicated. Was it hot? Sizzling. Was it forbidden? Oh yeah, boundaries are pushed and a very sharp edge is skated. The characters? Flynn and Isabella are intense, combustible and compelling. So what's the rub? I would have loved to see a deeper story and a much more romance I thought the whole concept behind this book was really promising and it offered a wealth of opportunities but what you ended up with was mostly surface and while this book was blisteringly hot it lacked emotion and feels. Still, I liked it and will definitely check out future entries in this series.
