Sizzling dark/taboo read with loads of drama, suspense and intense chemistry. Isabell and Flynn have a love/hate relationship and the chemistry between them is combustible. This story has lots of twists and turns and is action packed. I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved it.

Holy Mother of Theresa! This book was HOT! There were some parts that were degrading and downright nasty but I loved it! Flynn’s backstory messed me up. It’s devastating and disturbing.

I am a firm believer that there is an audience for every book. Sadly, I am absolutely not the target audience for Untethered. Marketed as a "taboo erotic romance", the blurb for this book was incredibly vague and so you have very little clue of what you are about to read. The two MCs, Flynn and Isabella are step-brother and sister, hence the taboo element, however that honestly felt incidental to the plot.

I want to start by saying that I had no particular issue with the writing style or quality. It's not a bad book, but the "romance" really let me down. There just isn't any. I understand that the author was trying to write a very sexual book, where everyone is sleeping with everyone else, including orgies, and I don't usually have a problem with that, but I am really not interested in reading a romance where the two main characters spend 75-80% of the story sleeping with everybody other than each other. There were also far too many scenes where the MCs would start a sexual encounter together and leave to finish off with a different partner. It's not precisely cheating, but it's definitely not my brand of romance and it left me feeling cold.

It's less hate-to-love and more just hate. Even at the end, the HEA feels like it comes out of nowhere and if this is the character's idea of love, I want no part of it. There are so many tropes in this book that it does feel a bit jumbled, plus there's a 10 year time-jump that blew my mind! I have no doubt that some people will enjoy this book (as shown via other reviews) but I unfortunately was not one of them and I won't be reading the next book in the series.

This is a love story. A VERY sexual love story. Flynn and Isabella's story was wonderful! I didn't realize at first that they are step-brother and step-sister. This is such a taboo idea so I was hesitant, but ended up reading the book in one day! The author writes the story in a way that doesn't seem scandalous.

Flynn has a bad past that he thinks makes him unloveable which isn't true. His background made you feel for Flynn. You end up getting to know him so well that you want him to succeed. You learn about Flynn and Isabella's history through flashbacks. Through these flashbacks you learn more about what makes them well rounded characters. By the end of the book, I was cheering the character's on. I'm very excited to see where this series goes in the future-which I wasn't expecting.

There are some content warnings that potential readers need to be aware of-there are a lot of sex (kinky) scenes, rape, drugs, sex workers, and o'ding.

I enjoyed this as a quick read. The story was interesting , although it did seem all over the place at times and very rushed. A lot of sex , enemies to lovers, hate sex/ control, if you love this genre, then this will be your kind of book, as I say it was interesting, I think if it had been longer and not as rushed it could be. 4-5 stars

As far as forbidden taboo books goes this one performed well with the dark, angsty, sexual, and extremely kinky. With polyamorous group and sister/step brother taboo, the book was decidedly sexual and deviant.

What did I like? I wish the author would have spent more time into what St Judes actually stood for but all we got was a hate relationship between Flynn and his step sister Isa. The friction had sexual vibes and insane angsty moments. Then the book moves to ten years later when Isa comes home to her ailing mother with a well kept secret.

Would I recommend or buy? If your into the hate sex or step sibling genre then this is definitely for you. I enjoyed the book and would read more from this author. Five stars!

I read this book in a couple of hours. It’s gripping. Intense. Forbidden. Dark. Spicy hot!

The story was interesting in itself. A lot of sex and a fairly decent plot. However, it doesn’t feel like a professional read. The editing was a little sloppy and some parts of the book seemed rushed.

If you’re not in it for the writing, it’s a good book. I would have given a 2.5 if I could.

At first, I would like to thank Netgalley and Victory Editing for allowing me to review this book. Keep in mind that my review, however, is my true opinion on this book.

“Untethered” is about Isabella Serrano and Flynn Drake, who grew up most of their life with each other. And they hated each other just like steph-siblings can. But one day, they get feelings for each other. And this messes their relationship up. Flynn knows that he does not deserve Isabelle. And Isabella can not wrap her mind around the fact that she likes her step-brother.

This is a dark love story. It is a love story that seems forbidden. Or is it love?

I would have loved for Isabella to be a stronger character. She has her opinions, but she is way too quick to give up on herself. It could have done a lot to the story, if her character would have been stronger and maybe evolved more during the book.

Flynn, however, seems to evolve more during the book. Especially towards the last end. And I really liked reading about him trying to be a better man. I do not want to spoil too much, but there are some pretty epic scenes towards the end, which I adored.

This is the first book in a series: “St. Jude Rules Book” and I am excited to see where the story goes in the next book, because there are a lot of things to pick up on.

TW: inc*st(kind of?), group sex, sexual assault, murder

Isabella is haughty, self assured, and so ready to move on with her life. Away from her family. After graduating valedictorian of her high school class, Isabella is certain of many things in life. The thing she is most certain of though is her immeasurable loathing for Flynn Drake that started when he became her stepbrother. After ten years of dealing with Flynn’s nasty jokes and cruel pranks, Isabella wants to start getting even. After blaming Flynn for causing her to fall off the stage at her graduation, Isabella gets even by keying Flynn’s most prized possession; his car.

Flynn is a hypersexual, spoiled, and rich. He’s hated Isabella since basically day one. And after Isabella keyed his car, he’s at his limit with her. After a drunken game of truth or dare at a rich frat boy like party, lines begin to blur between the two.

Enemies to lovers. Step-siblings Isabella and Flynn have a ten year long feud in which they blame the other for. Neither one of them seem to want to acknowledge that they’re both at fault.

**Possible spoilers**

I’ve read some smutty books, but this one definitely takes a place in the top five. This novel is listed as a taboo dark romance and it most definitely is. I wasn’t expecting how taboo it was going to get. To me, it seems like Flynn has had a thing for Isabella from day one. He seems to over sexualize all women, and constantly pushes back less than brotherly thoughts about his stepsister. The first half of this book was great, but towards the middle there were a few things that happen that just didn’t seem realistic to me. I know books aren’t supposed to be real, but like, I feel like there should have been a little more of an altercation with Roxy when she finds out. It just seemed to play out so easily. I feel like that storyline could have been so much more, but instead it fell flat. I also feel like Flynn was too open with his trauma too fast with Isabella. Also, the fact that they go from a secret, shameful affair, straight to having sex in public, takes away from whole shameful, secret love. And then her parents are super chill about it also seems off. They’re just super accepting.
Although I have some complaints about this book, it was a good read overall. Definitely interested in reading more I the series.

I received an ARC of this book on NetGalley in return for an honest review. This review is based on my own thoughts and feelings.
