Thank you Netgalley and Algonquin Books for letting me read and review this book. I haven't read one of the Algonquin Readers before, and I am glad I got the chance. This gives us an inside look at Algonquin’s outstanding Spring/Summer 2021 fiction. "Discover the inspiration behind each book through an original essay by the author. Then enjoy an excerpt from each novel. The books featured in this issue are: Silence Is a Sense by Layla AlAmmar, Libertie by Kaitlyn Greenidge, A Theater for Dreamers by Polly Samson, Legends of the North Cascades by Jonathan Evison, The Temple House Vanishing by Rachel Donohue, and Hot Stew by Fiona Mozley. I enjoyed getting a look into each of these books and knowing when they will be published.

It is such a treat to get these samples of upcoming books. Working in a bookstore, you are inundated with so many great books, it is hard to figure out what to pick up next. This lead me to A Theatre for Dreamers by Polly Samson which I thoroughly enjoyed!

Algonquin consistently publishes fiction that is of high quality. In this sampler, readers get a peek at six recently released novels. They are Silence is a Sense, Libertie, A Theater for Dreamers, Legends of the North Cascades, and Hot Stew. For each title, the novelist has also written an essay that will add to a reader’s sense of the book. This collection of previews and more is a real treat and will likely inspire readers to add to their summer reading lists. I, myself, especially want to read Libertie and A Theater for Dreamers.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

It truly helps me develop more of a connection to the book and it really enhances my reading experience. Thank you for the opportunity to read your selections. I am always looking for new ways to be introduced to new authors and stories that I might not be exposed to otherwise. I think my favorites are Hot Stew, Legends of the North Cascades, and The Temple House Vanishing!

This was so fun to read! It included works by authors of two of my favorite books this year- Libertie and Hot Stew. I'll be picking Legends of the North Cascades up soon, so it was nice to get a taste of Evison's writing!

Thank you to Algonquin, as always, for an enjoyable Reader!
