Victoria Scott’s dream is to open up her own vintage style clothing boutique, but for now she is working at a bar in Chelsea and crafting her beautiful designs by night. A new department store is scheduled to open soon and it’s presence threatens to obliterate the surrounding small businesses in Chelsea. That is, until its owner meets Victoria. Adorable and a bit sexy, this fun rom-com was full of laughs, poignant moments, and lots of chemistry!

This book had me the moment I saw the cover! Winter scene in London?? Fake engagement?? Swoon… This was the perfect mix of romcom and flawed characters needing to overcome their pasts in order to embrace their futures. I loved this story and am excited for the next in the Meet Me series!

Eeeeeek!! This was the PERFECT, light-hearted, Christmas-y romance. It satiated my ~travel dreams~ while making my heart flutter in the very best way.

The London setting was so vibrant!! The love story was sugary-sweet!!! And the FASHION! UGH! I'm obsessed with all the lush fabric descriptions, the dress designs -- EVERYTHING about this book was absolute perfection!!

And, even better: IT'S GOING TO BE A SERIES!! I had *no* idea that that would be the case until I did a lil ~digging~ on Goodreads, and... I cannot WAIT to dive into the stories of Victoria's new friends. (Though, I'll keep my fingers crossed for a Victoria-and-Oliver cameo in the following three books... pretty pretty please?) :)

An adorable romp through the London winter snow, filled with Christmas cheer and fashion shows, this is sure to melt even the most frozen, most Grinch-iest of hearts!! Don't miss out!

This is a sweet rom-com, perfect for fans of Hallmark Christmas movies. Sure it was predictable, but I'd expected that. It was still an enjoyable and quick read overall.

Fake engagements? Christmas in London? A perfect combination for a Christmas romance. Victoria is an aspiring designer who’s struggling to sell her clothes since a new department store moved in. Oliver the charming owner of the department store makes her a deal. Pretend to be engaged to appease his family and he will give her space to show her designs in his store. Oliver and Victoria have an instant connection and their business relationship because harder to maintain as their feelings grow. I just adored this story! It was funny, sexy and charming!

Victoria and Oliver agree to a pretend engagement for his parents sake. Neither one planned on anything else but their hearts had other plans.
It was a nice romantic story
I really enjoyed this book
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the early copy

For fans of Josie Silver's “One Day in December” and Christina Lauren's “In a Holidaze.”

I’m just gonna say it now. “Meet Me in London” is a novel that would be a wonderful Hallmark Christmas movie. This rom-com has it all: great setting; girl hates boy before she even meets him; boy is indifferent to girl, yet they need each other; low-level sparks fly; and BAM! they fall in love.

At her core, Victoria Scott is a vintage fashion designer. I love vintage clothing and I wish author Toffolo had described some of her clothing. Maybe she did, and I missed it. The clothing could have been from any decade from the 1930s to the 1990s. I got the feeling that it was 1950s, but I wouldn’t put money on it.

To make ends meet, she works in a bar in Chelsea; across the street is her ex-boyfriend’s business. The area the two businesses are in sounds quaint and wonderful….lots of little specialty shops and restaurants. However, there is a new store opening down the street that will change everything and probably put all the shops out of business: Russell’s, an old and established department store.

The store is facing its own set of challenges: its way, way behind schedule and its grand opening date in early December may not happen. Oliver Russell, son of the store owner and heir apparent, has been sent to fix things and get the opening back on schedule or they’ll lose the Christmas buying season.

Oliver is also trying to fend off his mother who wants to meet his girlfriend over the holidays; a girlfriend who doesn’t exist. Victoria and Oliver literally run into each other outside the department store. Readers know where this is going so I don’t need to go on.

One thing that confused me is that the novel takes place in London’s Chelsea neighborhood. So how can the title be “Meet Me in London”? Although the novel was predictable, I did like it. It wasn’t great, but reading a holiday rom-com is fun during the dog days of summer. Therefore, “Meet Me in London” 3 out of 5 stars in Julie’s world.

A perfectly satisfying read for the holiday season. Pretending to be engaged, Victoria and Oliver soon discover there are real feelings involved. But opening their hearts to love and each other can't fully happen until they share their deepest secrets and longings.

I have been devouring anything by Jenny Colgan for years, I love a good romance set in London or the surrounding countryside, so this one was perfect for me!

This book was adorable but had good depth to it too.
The characters are very lovable and I really enjoyed the storyline and the fashion talk.

Oliver meets Victoria randomly but feels something for her instantly. He thinks she’s the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen.
A few days later, they run into each other again and have a chance to really talk and get to know each other.

Victoria is a fashion designer. She works in a wine bar to support her fashion dreams. In her spare time she mentors a group of teenagers and teaches them design. She’s definitely a special person. She’s also leery to be in a relationship because her most recent relationship ended very badly.

Oliver and his family own a very successful line of department stores. They are in the process of getting their newest one ready to open. Oliver’s dad is stepping down after some health issues and expects Oliver to step up and take over.
And Oliver’s mother just desperately wants Oliver to meet the right woman and settle down. This has taken on some urgency lately with Oliver’s father being sick.
But Oliver has always been so busy he’s never even taken the time to try to meet the right woman. He knows that his grandparents had the most enviable marriage. Oliver isn’t in a rush, when he finds the right woman he wants 50 plus years with her.

When Oliver and Victoria meet, they try to help each other. Oliver offers to let Victoria’s students host a fashion show at his department store, on opening day, no strings attached. But he does ask for a favor. It would be a huge help for him if Victoria pretended to be his fiancée around his parents for a while.

She agrees to help. But they quickly start falling for each other. And poor Victoria believes she is unworthy of his love after what her ex put her through.

I thought this was a sweet and beautiful story.

I didn’t realize until I was almost done that this book is from a series. I haven’t even looked into the descriptions of the other books yet, I just saved them as “want to read”. I can tell you that this book absolutely works as a stand alone. If you find this book and then find out it’s maybe not the first with some of the characters, do not let it stop you from reading this. This book works beautifully even with no other knowledge of the other characters (I imagine that the other books are about Victoria’s best friends rather than her).

I got to read an early ebook edition from NetGalley, I really enjoyed it and I’d definitely recommend it.

4.5/5 Stars!! Meet Me in London is a super cute and light romance, perfect to get you ready for the holiday season! This also has one of my favourite tropes: Fake dating!! The main couple has such amazing chemistry and I love the large array of side characters that really flush out the entire story.

Meet Me in London by Georgia Toffolo is such a cute enjoyable read!
This is one of my favorite tropes! "Fake relationship" sign me up! Just a completely magical Christmassy love story.

When it came down to my rating, this book was just okay. It wasn't great, it wasn't bad, it just didn't inspire any major emotion in me. The characters felt very flat, the chemistry was lukewarm, and I never really got invested in the relationship. When I can put the book down and forget about it, that's not a good sign. I did it several times. Had a good premise, but unfortunately, it just needed more color and attraction. More...just more. Difficult to explain, but at the end of the day, it's not a book I would read again or buy as a holiday gift (which I do with holiday romance a lot).

This book was quite simply very fun. Humor, feels and heart are cleverly blended with ample helpings of romance, drama and holiday charm to create a wonderful read that will bring a major dose of joy and light into your day. Victoria and Oliver made a very cute and sweet couple that was easy to fall and root for.

3.5*

Nice fake fiancé romance, but nothing that sets it apart. It takes place in London at Christmas, but there’s little mention of either the holiday or the wondrousness of the city at that time of year. Struggling fashion designer meets billionaire heir to a department store chain. Nice group of girlfriends whose bond is strengthened after a tragic car accident when they were eighteen, leaving Victoria unable to have children. Typical lack of communication leads to ending the relationship to avoid presumably more pain down the road, letting past relationship hurt dictate future relationships. A worthwhile read but not as great as One Day in December by Josie Silver or One Week ’Til Christmas

Meet Me in London by Georgia Toffolo delivers all of the sparkle of the festive season, and it had me charmed from the very start. This was my first time reading this author, but I will definitely be back for seconds.

Oliver is tired of being pressured by his mother to find a meaningful relationship. Aspiring fashion designer Victoria is struggling to pay her bills, so when department store magnate Oliver offers a solution that will benefit them both, it seems to be the answer to her prayers. In exchange for having her designs showcased in his store, Oliver asks Victoria to pose as his girlfriend over the holidays. It seems a simple deception and a win/win for both but, of course, even the best-laid plans have been known to wander off script.

This is a lovely holiday read that will hold a very wide appeal. For me, it just isn't Christmas without a bit of Brit romcom, and this one perfectly fits the bill.

Many thanks to NetGalley and HARLEQUIN - Trade Publishing (U.S. & Canada) for an ARC.

I have mixed feelings about this.
There was a lot here that I liked: the fake engagement trope, set in London, and is a Christmas/holiday romance. I should have loved this.
However the characters were a bit hard to connect to. I found myself not routing for them or their romance, which is really disappointing in a romance novel.
Unfortunately this was a miss for me but hope the other books in the series are better.

Cute British rom/com. Enjoyed the story - good character development and the always happy ending after pages of trials and misunderstandings. Fun Christmas read.

Victoria Scott works nights at a bar, but her dream is to sell her clothing designs in a shop. Her dreams almost came true with her shop owner ex, but came to a halt when she found him with another woman. She also loves teaching fashion design on a volunteer basis to at risk teenagers, and wants a place to showcase their talents.

Oliver Russell has come into town to open up a new branch of his family’s department store down the street. He has so much on his plate fixing all the mistakes his cousin has made with the store so far, that he doesn’t have time for a social life. His mother and ailing father want nothing more than for Oliver to b settle down and to have children, and Oliver wants to do anything to please them, especially with his father sick.

When Oliver meets Victoria, he realizes he has the perfect answer to both of their issues. He will supply the venue for Victoria’s students to show off their fashion designs if Victoria agrees to pretend to be his fiancé. Can they both pull off a pretend engagement that fools his family enough to get him a moment’s peace?

This was a sweet read, and was fun to watch their relationship evolve, The backdrop of helping the people of the town was refreshing, and really brought some warmth and sweetness to what could have been a very stuffy story of big name store versus the little guys on the street.

This was a perfect palate cleanser book for anyone looking for something light to read.

Thank you to Mills and Boon publishing for sending me n eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
