I absolutely adored this picture book! This follows a yak named Gertie, who is the littlest yak and wants to be big. I loved the messages in the book about individuality and self-acceptance, and those themes are great for kids to read about, The art was so cute and I appreciated how rich the colors were. The character design of Gertie and the other really tiny yak was so adorable and I loved those characters, I also loved the rhyming of the writing and think this would be so much fun to read out loud with kids, I feel like many kids would want to read this book again and again!

The Littlest Yak by Lu Fraser and illustrated by Kate Hindley is an utterly charming picture book that promotes self-esteem and individuality. I loved everything about this story, and cannot wait to share it with the young readers in my life.

Gertie is a tiny yak. Frustrated by her size, Gertie dreams of doing bigger things, and embarks upon a plan to grow. But when a crisis happens within the herd, it falls to Gertie to achieve what only a small yak can do, and Gertie begins to appreciate the value of her size in an entirely new way.

Told in rhyming verse, and brought to life in gorgeous illustrations, this one is sure to appeal to readers of all ages, and destined to become a new favourite.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Publisher Spotlight for an ARC.

THIS WAS ADORABLE. From the intro page to the absolute last, I sure did have a blast!

I loved that this rhymed, those are always my favourite to read and were always my favourite especially as a child. This story about our tiny Yak wanting to grow up but realizing that being small right now is just as perfect and useful too was so heartwarming.

The art was beautiful and really captured my attention so I know kids are going to be glued to these pages. I hope this story reaches a lot of imaginative minds! It’s a splendid story with powerful messages! Highly, highly recommend this, whether you have kids or not.

This little picture book was amazingly adorable! I loved the art style and the colors, and it was a very touching story about appreciating the ways we're all built differently. This is perfect for kids who are eager to grow up too quickly, who might need help slowing down and being happy with how they are now!

This was a sweet children’s book on the importance of being you. Even the littlest of yaks have importance.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Gertie is the littlest Yak and she wants to be big like all the other yaks. then someone gets stuck and all the big yaks are to big, can Gertie the littlest Yak help?

The Littlest Yak is an entertaining tale of how a young yak wishes to be bigger. Cute illustrations and engaging story that kids and adults will like, Easy to follow and understand how the little yak desires to grow up. However, at the end of the story the little yak is needed because she is small and she then finds that she is useful as a little one and that there is another yak even smaller that needs her help. Kids of all ages, especially younger ones, should enjoy this book. Good book to read children as a bed-time story.

The Littlest Yak is a beautiful, lyrical children's book about accepting yourself and your own strengths for what they are. In the book, Gertie, the littlest yak, wants to grow up and be big and tall but she does not recognize the own magic that her small stature brings. The illustrations in the book are absolutely gorgeous and the writing and rhyming is so fun to read!

A super sweet picture book, with rhyming verses, to teach even the littlest of yaks, and people, that being small is perfectly fine and that “bigness” can be in anyone.
