Nicholas and Ellie’s growing relationship gives counterpoint to the spooky goings on. Along w cheeky characters and twisty storyline. Berry supplies a good structure for more stories to follow.. this is also a puzzling mystery entwined with guile and humor.

Trying to start anew, Eleanor has quit being a medium and is now selling herbal remedies. When Liam, her brother comes to visit, they go on a sight seeing tour. Eleanor's old partner in crime shows up. When they both see a man go overboard when pushed by two men, they are left to unravel the mystery. Good characters with a nice plot. Thanks #netgalley and #Keningston for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I loved Eleanor in the first book, and I'm just sad I've somehow missed two books in between! She's still funny and smart, and the mystery and its resolution were excellent, with plenty of red herrings thrown in. The only thing I missed in this was the Brighton setting. I can only visualise it because I've actually been there, otherwise, it's a bit of a non-starter, unfortunately, because Brighton is so quirky (and not sure there are any sandy beaches? Brighton is well-known for its pebble beach, among other things).

Nonetheless, the story and plotting were terrific and I really need to go back to books two and three and fill in the missing developments, although this can easily be read as a standalone book. It's just better if all the links are joined up, as with most series.

I will be paying closer attention so I don't miss the next one in the series. Recommended.

This is the first book I have read by this author and really didn't have a problem following the characters. As cozy mysteries go, this one was pretty good with a solid plot line and engaging characters. I am looking forward to reading more from this author. I received an e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.

Eleanore Wilde crossed the pond and left behind a life as a scam artist. As she is building a new and respectable life in England, her brother comes to visit. To make his visit fun, she takes him to Brighton, where she sees her ex partner in crime. But it’s when she and her brother see a man pushed off a boat to his death that they question what they really saw.

Eleanor has a plan to try and figure it out, but it requires her boyfriend Nicolas’ help. Will Eleanor’s abilities and plan come to the rescue or will she be scammed this time around?

No one loves a con. They like an ex con even less. However, Eleanor’s powers make her the real deal and a very likable character, especially if you like snark and/or are an anglophile. This series is a hoot and I adore each and every book that has been published to date.

Eleanor has given up her nefarious ways, laying her job as a “medium” to rest, instead offering herbal cures and potions to her clients. When her brother, Liam comes for a visit, Eleanor and her friends decide to take Liam to Brighton for some real sightseeing. Sadly, the weather fails to cooperate and much rain ensues. Further complicating matters is the reappearance of Eleanor’s ex-partner in crime. But when she an Armaund see a man pushed off a boat into the sea by two figures who disappear, they are left to wonder if they have actually witnessed something paranormal
