Good book! This book had a great who done it! It also had intrigue, suspense, action and a great storyline! While this book was definitely worth reading and I would recommend it, but it wasn't my all time favorite! Just a good decent read! As Kade Logan stood watching his wife's car being hauled out from the lake, he was haunted by the questions of how and why his wife was killed eight years before. To answer these questions, he turned to the Nighthawk Security team to help him find answers. Ellie Bowman is sent to help him do so. As they come closer to the truth, past and present merge into danger for them both as they look for those answers and feel their way into a new and exciting relationship between them.
Last Goodnight has it all - murder, love and danger. what more could a read want.

Thank you #Kensington Book and # Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book and then share this book with my customers as they look for another fantastic read in the genre of romantic suspense.

The Last Goodnight is the first in a new series by Kat Martin. What an excellent story, but then this is Kat Martin, whose books are filled with interesting characters, exciting plots, and vivid settings. This book is no exception.

The characters are well drawn with flaws and strengths. The chemistry between the hero and heroine kept me glued to the page. As did the tension. Martin did a great job keeping up the suspense while having characters who are compassionate about one another and those around them.

The setting is wonderful. The ranch and the life there was very realistic. All the characters fit so well in that setting.

Martin once again wove threads throughout her book that didn't seem to connect, but as the story progressed those threads tightened into a well-woven plot with some amazing twists and turns. This is a story you won't want to miss.

I was given an early copy through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

When Kade Logan said goodbye to his estranged wife eight years ago, he never thought it would be the last time he saw her alive. Now her car has been hauled out of a nearby lake and Kade is determined to track down the man who murdered her. Enter Eleanor Bowman, a talented private investigator who’s about to stir up a hornet’s nest on his Colorado ranch.

With old scandals still buzzing about his late wife’s many affairs and new violence erupting, Kade is faced with the discovery of another beautiful woman’s body. Are the two killings linked? Who is the man who seduced, then murdered both victims? Ellie believes they are dangerously close to the truth.

From corporate Denver high-rises to posh Vail mansions, Kade and Ellie sense the killer is closing in again, and this time Ellie is the target. Kade must risk everything to save the woman he’s coming to love—before she becomes the next one to die...

Kat Martin writes intense, sexy, romantic suspense, and this is the beginning of a new thrilling series. Recommended for all readers who like their books steamy.

I adored this book. The description does not do it justice. It was a romance with a suspenseful twist. It was well written and the story line was terrific. I love ranch scenery in a book. The characters were amazing and I missed them when I was finished this book. Character that leave you missing them are characters that were well done and endearing. One of the character I loved was the dog, I love how beloved he was.
My only critique was the first portion of this book had way way to many “god he wanted her bad” type things thrown in. We get it, he was attracted to Ellie, it was not necessary to add that in every couple pages. The story itself was sufficient to let us know the characters were developing feelings for each other. Randomly throwing in bits about wanting her took away from the story immersion

This book has twists and turns. It’s a busy book. I enjoyed reading it. There were a lot of characters to keep track of. I liked Ellie a lot. She’s smart, funny and cares about people. I liked Kade, he’s crazy alpha. The writing is detailed and made me feel as though I was on the ranch with the characters. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

Don't expect this one any time soon. I got my Kat Martin books confused and read the Oct one. No spoilers but a interesting set of characters. Lots of action and romance with a mystery until the end. Start to a new series and it looks very good.

This is a sweet romance combined with suspense. Ellie Bowman, a detective is called to work on the long ago murder of Kade’s wife when her car is discovered. Ellie moves to his ranch in Colorado to work undercover as she seeks information. As she begins to investigate, tragic and frightening events begin plaguing the ranch.

The romance is predictable but there is enough suspense mixed in to keep the pages turning. Though I am not a romance reader, I did enjoy this book because of the other elements.

Thank you Netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Kat Martin doesn’t disappoint and this is another hit. A new series in the pipeline that looks to be promising. Romantic thriller? What more can I truly ask for.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Kade hires a private investigator to look into the murder of his wife several years ago. When other accidents are happening at the ranch it will take Kade and Ellie in different directions.

A good, suspenseful romance. A few twists and turns, well written, and engrossing. the characters are likable and the situations not too far-fetched.

Ellie and Kade have similar experiences in their past that have made them leery of falling in love again. They both do everything they can to fight the attraction between them, but with working together and as Kade's jealousy keeps building they can no longer fight it. I liked how the case just kept building and going in different directions. In this book we get romance, suspense, mystery, friendships, and closure. As you meet different characters, you aren't sure who the killer is until this one moment where all the clues come together. Its a great ah ha moment. I enjoyed this book and am glad I gave it a chance.

Received ARC in exchange for voluntary honest review from NetGalley.

Another good Kat Martin book. Good mystery with interesting characters in the book. Ellie Bowman is an interesting, strong, and likable character. Kade Logan was a nice looking strong character that owned thousands of acres of ranching land. The spark of these two was evident from the first meeting. The mystery of who was causing Wade all the problems on his ranch and who was killing people from the beginning was interesting along with his reasoning behind all of that. I enjoyed the book and I would recommend this book to others.

I always enjoy books by Kat Martin and this one is no exception. Rancher Kade's wife, Heather, was murdered years ago but they never found her killer. Her car was pulled from the lake recently though and Kade decides to hire a private investigator from a company his friend owns, Nighthawk Security. Ellie, is a seasoned investigator who proves her worth as she goes undercover posing as the ranch cook. More women are being killed in the same way Heather was so Ellie and Kade need to work fast. Lots of suspense, action, and romance, make this mystery a great read.

Kat Martin writes some intriguing romantic suspense stories - and when I found The Last Goodnight on Netgalley from an auto approved publisher (You be the best, Kensington Books!), I just couldn’t resist picking it up to read it immediately.

The Last Goodnight, the first in the series is Kade Logan’s watch for the killer of his estranged wife. His wife went missing 8 years ago; however it’s only been two years since her body was found and only a month before when her car was found.

He wants to know; no Kade Logan needs to know who the killer is. So he hires Eleanor “Ellie” Bowman, a private investigator, through his friend’s security firm to ferret out the truth.

With so many mysteries to unravel, and other attacks happening at his ranch, both Ellie and Kade have their work cut out for them. What they weren’t expecting was their instant attraction to each other.

Like always, Kat Martin writes an involving mystery, I actually stayed up late into the night to complete the book - and even with their own insecurities sabotaging their relationship; The Last Goodnight was definitely a satisfying read.

Looking forward to seeing where this series goes!

This was a good suspenseful romance. I liked Ellie and Kade, though Kade did seem to have way more deep seated issues that made the change of heart seem a bit to quick to be resolved.

As always an excellent read by Kat Martin.

Kade has finally had enough. His wife was killed eight years ago and now they finally found her car. It's time they close this case once and for all. He decides to hire Ellie, a private investigator to find the killer.

When Ellie meets Kade she sees how good looking he is but it doesn't take her long to find out he likes to be in control. Not sure if she should take the case and be around Kade so much she hesitates.

She quickly learns that there's more going on at the ranch than she was originally brought there for but that doesn't stop her from helping Kade anyway she can. And Kade finds out Ellie is nothing like his first wife.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
