I enjoyed reading this book and the previous two books in the series. The author has a great way of making a suspenseful atmosphere and paranormal elements together.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishing house and the author for the opportunity to read an advance reader copy of this book in return for a review based upon my honest opinion.

This is book three of the the ghosts of the big thicket. I have read all three of these books and although they take place in the same area, they are stand alone books. This was a sweet, southern Texas book. The characters are old fashioned and set in their ways. This was an enjoyable story that almost had a gothic feel to it. It was a quick read and an enjoyable one.

I cannot say enought about Twyla Ellis! Her books are such a draw with her way of writing and the way that she draws you in. Growing up in the South, I can relate to all the backwoods tells and stories that she tells. All areas have these, but not everyone is able to tell them and tell them well! Congrats on being able to do that!

I woudl say that at the time of reading this rough draft, there are some characters that need developing. It was hard to keep up with all the back and forth of gentleman coming in and out of the story and how quickly things dissipated and built up, Focus on the realationship she is meant to be in, not the the ones that don't pan out for her.

Third installment of the Big Thicket - and hope there will be more. Each novel can be stand alone, totally different characters, but all in the magical Big Thicket. Almost a Jane Eyre feel to this one, with strong and interesting characters, and a big of the supernatural, with a little romance woven in - all makes for a strong story definitely worth reading.

A little scary. I am a fan of ghost stories fiction or non fiction. Although this had everything a scary ghost book should have it lacked certain things. I am not sure what but to me it didn't grasp my attention.

This is a great ghost story! I thought it was interesting through and through and especially liked the setting of the Big Thicket. This book was just the right amount of spooky for me. I will be checking more book from this author soon!

Another fabulous book by Twyla Ellis. This is the third one in a series and I have read all of them. This author does a wonderful job no matter what she is writing. This is about people who live in Texas near the big thicket. The characters are completely believable and the paranormal aspect is so well done that it feels completely realistic. There is also romance but not a over the top type All in all it is a great read I can't wait to read the next one in the series. I highly recommend.

This was a great read of Gothic literature. I expected it to be more scary than what it was, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. A great read for a camping trip.

After reading The Voices at the End of the Road by Twyla Ellis I instantly had to learn more about the author because in her book Twyla painted the perfect picture for someone who isn't aware of what the Big Thicket is. The author, Twyla Ellis is a descendent of pioneers who came to Texas in the 1840s, while Texas was still a Republic. She grew up roaming the dense pine forests in the Big Thicket around Livingston, Texas at the homes of her grandmother, great-aunts and uncles, and cousins.

I should start by saying that this is the third book in the Ghosts of the Big Thicket series, but you don't need to read the first two books to understand this one. The other two books are, The House on Camp Ruby (#1), The Girls of Cemetery Road (2), However, the other two books are worth checking-out, especially if you liked The Voices at the end of the Road. I haven't read the other two books but am now curious and planning on reading Twyla's other books.

The voices at the end of the road by Twyla Ellis is a well-written story that keeps you guessing on every page what will come next.

It takes place in the Big Thicket, which is a heavily forested region in Texas, so the perfect location for an ominous, creepy, eerie book.

Tessa, the main character, is hired by the Whitfield's to manage the large estate and to look after Caroline, who is fourteen years old. Your mind begins to play tricks on you as the story unfolds and mysterious, spooky things keep happening. From hearing voices in the next rooms, and seeing handprints left on the windows, you are constantly guessing what is going to come next and questioning what is going on exactly.

I definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in an intriguing storyline with strong descriptions, excellent character structures and love a bit of a thrill. Twyla is a great story-teller and you definitely won't be bored reading this one.

The voices at the end of the road by Twyla Ellis is a carefully crafted story which will dig deep into your brain as you come to love the characters and be amazed at the depth this story has.

Our story is set in the big Thicket, which sounds ominous yet charming. Our main character, Tessa is hired by the Whitfield's to manage the large estate and look after Caroline, a young 14 year old who is joyfully not yet consumed by her way of life. There are many characters in this book and the author does a superb job at slowly helping you make up your mind about them. From the first moment our main character meets everyone, you get a strong feel for who they might be. The authors writing is clear and its very evident that she just knows people and is able to craft characters who just make sense, from their fears, roles and responsibilities to why their relationship might be strained with others. I found myself disliking Grayson then slowly changing to like him the more I came to understand him.

There are creepy elements to this story as well which I enjoyed. Not the keep you up at night creepy vibe, but the vibe that there is going to be a unique story to undercover about these handprints left on the windows and the voices in the next room. The way this is written about only makes it better as no one in the house talks about it. My mind wandered as I attempted to figure this one out and I am pleased to say that I did not - not until all was revealed.

This is the third in the ghosts of the big thicket, but I do not believe you do not have to read the two other books. You can if you want to. Luckily I had so I anticipated that this would be good. It was still its own story with awesome characters and a deep plot - I was not let down.

If you are looking for a fantastic, slightly creepy read - give this one a go. I think this would even suit YA readers. I give this one four stars and received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.
