This is just the book you need when embarking on owing, living and/or touring in a RV.

Very forthright, clear and practical.

Written by someone who has learned through own experiences and a life on the road.

Just reading the introduction, you realise this is a no nonsense guide. It has the sole purpose to bring the reader up to speed to understand and determine if they are ready/prepared to put their RV in drive rather than keep it on the drive (at home).

Many dream of doing stuff; yet soon make excuses or prevaricate, delaying the decision day.

This is a book for all. Whether the committed hobbyist, the seasoned camper and the itinerant traveller. Whatever stage you are in this process of taking to the road for vacations or living on the go you will need some advice and basic knowledge.

This book is packed with common sense and solution based outcomes to nearly every scenario you can envisage owning and touring in a RV.

So many helpful books of this nature start off with the best intentions, some get sidetracked into anecdotal memories or what someone once said. Lots loose all sense of direction as the writer warms to their subject and gets lost in their passion without focus.

While this writer is both passionate and motivated to share their interest in the world of RVs they never forget the purpose of the book or the message they are sharing.
Consequently this is an author I thoroughly believe in, they annoy me at times but I cannot fault their ability to convey information and stick to the message.

For some time now, my husband and I have discussed purchasing an RV, with the view of retiring and living on the road. We have been looking at information about the pros and cons of doing so, as well as tryin to figure out the best type of RV to purchase when the time comes. With that in mind, I was very excited to receive this book. I did find it very informative; it brought many things to my attention that I hadn't even considered in my thoughts of the future, such as costs (beyond the obvious of gas, insurance, basic maintenance, etc) and stable/reliable internet access. It also gave good information regarding the types of RVs. I still have many questions and a lot more research to do, but this book was definitely a great starting point!

Full of useful tips if you are thinking about a life on the road permanently. Based around American travel but consider your climate before buying a van. Interesting account of a complete life change, not sure it would be for me but would definitely try it for 3 months. Thank you #NetGalley for the copy.

My husband and I bought a Sprinter van last year and we’ve been transforming. I’ve heard good and bad things about van life so I was thrilled about starting this book. It broke down
Things into categories:
• What is RV living.
• Help choosing the right RV.
• The costs of everything.
• How to do life with kids and pets.
Did you know that one million American are living full-time in their RVs? Who knew?
This suggests that people are doing this in a minimalist fashion and sort of on their own terms. They decide about quality time and flexibility.
It discusses the types of RV class types: A,B,C , towing trailers and pop-ups and their pros and cons. Maintenance, insurance, what you should budget for. Campsites and hookups. The ins and outs about traveling with kids and pets. And lastly, jobs to have on the road with some cool ideas for space saving and gadgets to take on the road.
Overall I thought this was informative.

I was compelled to read this book as I know a few people that live in RVs full time with their families and travel around the states. While it is not something for our family, I was intrigued by how it works for them. This book, while just an introductory guide, is informative on subjects like choosing a type of RV, school, pets, jobs, utilities, etc. I think it would be a great resource for anyone curious about it or wondering if this lifestyle may work for them.

I'm a tent camper who would like to maybe pursue an RV lifestyle. This book isn't comprehensive, but gives a good overview of the life. I enjoyed the read and would recommend the book to anyone interested in trying it out. I've even discussed the idea of a try out with my family in renting an RV and taking a road trip. We may possibly do it next year. Nothing big or fancy, just a basic one to try it out and see if it's for us or not. I will be purchasing this book for my family to look through. Not yet convinced I'd want to live in one year round. I know folks who own them and live in them 6 months of the year- snow birds! They love it! So there is inspiration for living part of the year in a camper!

This is a very basic introduction to RV living, comprehensive in the number of subjects, but very low on details. It may be helpful to those who are a little curious, but beyond that one would need more detailed information.
The text is well written, the disposition is good, and all the facts seem correct.
