As a fan of both political thrillers and gripping suspense, I was eager to dive into “The President’s Daughter”—a novel that brings together the formidable talents of President Bill Clinton and acclaimed author James Patterson.

From the very first page, I was hooked. The plot unfolds like a high-stakes chess game, with every move calculated and every revelation leaving me hungry for more. The authors’ seamless collaboration is evident; Clinton’s insider knowledge of the political world combines effortlessly with Patterson’s knack for heart-pounding action.

Matthew Keating, a former Navy SEAL and ex-president, finds himself facing a nightmare scenario: his teenage daughter, Melanie, is abducted by a madman. As a parent, I felt the urgency and fear that Keating experiences. The stakes are not just personal—they’re a matter of national security. The tension escalates as Keating embarks on a one-man special-ops mission to rescue his daughter.

What sets this thriller apart is its authenticity. Clinton’s firsthand experience as a president lends credibility to every detail, while Patterson’s masterful storytelling keeps the adrenaline pumping. The pacing is relentless, and the twists and turns kept me guessing until the very end.

The writing is crisp, the dialogue sharp, and the characters well-drawn. Keating’s unwavering determination and vulnerability make him a compelling protagonist. The villains are equally chilling, and the supporting cast adds depth to the narrative.

“The President’s Daughter” is a rocket ride of suspense, blending political intrigue, family drama, and heart-pounding action. Whether you’re a fan of either author or simply love a gripping thriller, this book delivers. It’s a testament to the power of collaboration—a true dream team that leaves readers hungry for more.

Kudos to Clinton and Patterson for crafting a novel that keeps you up late, turning pages, and questioning just how far a parent would go to save their child. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an adrenaline-fueled escape into the world of high-stakes politics and personal sacrifice.

Fast paced and packed with tension. Mr Clinton's knowledge of the presidency adds an authentic political dimension that would not normally be attained and made the plot more interesting.

Thanks to NetGalley and Random House UK, Cornerstone for this ARC!

This story of kidnapped president’s daughter/family member has been done before. Former president Clinton and author Patterson have created a story with political insights following the terrorism crisis. The daughter is kidnapped on U.S. soil and smuggled out of the country to the Middle East. This seems a little bit difficult to believe.

I think for us the normal people, some scenes from this story may come off as very unbelievable and very hard to get through even if we all watch movies or see some news and videos about the real life of a president, more so if that said president is as of the USA one.
In true Patterson style, the story couldn’t be more exciting and explosive in many scenes as usual. A pulse racing page Turner with many twisted turns and great character development overall.

I will say up front that I wasn't sure I'd enjoy this, but wanted to give it a try. I've since changed my mind so much that I'm looking out more Patterson.
A gripping, sometimes slightly unbelievable read that is enjoyable, interesting and engaging. The characters were mostly believable, but...as with most thrillers, and not to knock it, I've had to sit at a few places and go 'called it'. Which was disappointing, but it's a problem with all but a few thrillers now, as I read them voraciously.

Well worth the read however!

The presidents daughter by Bill Clinton and James Patterson.
Keating's teenage daughter, Melanie, has been abducted, turning every parent's deepest fear into a matter of national security.
A brilliant read. Loved it. 5*.

I always like James Patterson’s writing and this one is no different. An interesting book with a good storyline. Easy to read writing and one that I would recommend.

Interesting but forgettable.

President Matt Keating and his Vice-President Pamela Barnes watch as a team of seals try to capture Asim Al-Asheed, a violent terrorist who caused the death of people across the world. Al-Asheed having received a tip-off has hidden but left his wife and daughters in his mountain hiding place and they are killed when the seals set off the detonations personally set by him. President Keating takes the unprecedented step to apologise for the attack. This leads to his Vice-President using this as a tool to ensure he’s not elected for a second term, instead she’s made President.

Two years after the attack, Al-Asheed takes his revenge, kidnapping Matt Keating’s daughter, Melanie. When President Barnes refuses to help him go after Al-Asheed, Keating has no option but to call in favours from his previous seal-mates and Secret Service detail to get his daughter back.

Am I being mean giving only three stars? I loved The President is Missing, the first book that Bill Clinton and James Patterson collaborated on; however, this plot is similar in format; terrorists. President facing the terrible threat of his daughter being in the clutches of a maniac terrorist. Bravely fighting to save her. Justice for the good. I’m glad I read it, but the plot along with the characters will very quickly fade from my memory.

When Mel, the former presidents daughter is kidnapped, Matt Keating takes matters in his own hands since help from the agency is not forthcoming.
This book is much better that the previous one. Action packed and totally engrossing, it has an excellent storyline that is well executed. Clintons knowledge of the presidency adds a dimension that would not normally be attained. An excellent writing pairing.

#ThePresidentsDaughter #NetGalley I found this book got off to a bit of a slow start with a lot of detail relating to procedures etc and I did find myself skim reading at points. However, once the book got into the main action - wow- I could not put it down and I found myself glued to each page to find out how things would unfold. Excellent storytelling and a great plot. If you get the chance to read this book, don't hesitate!

I really enjoyed the previous book by James Patterson and Bill Clinton but I found this one a bit more gritty and exciting.

Dont be confused by the fact the ‘The President’s Daughter’ is the second offering from Bill Clinton and James Patterson - the books are not related and it is not a series!

In the iconic Patterson style we have short sharp charpters with action from the get go and the story unfolding over multiple POVS. AS an ex SEAL and ex POTUS you can guarantee main character Keating is not going to stand by when his daughter goes missing - with all the vibes of Liam Neeson you KNOW he go to the ends of the earth if necessary to find his child.

The unique political insight and intrigue due to the authors very real experience as POTUS gives a real sense of authenticity to the story and its a winning duo propped up by the King of the Crim Thriller.

The book is an exciting, fast-paced, page turner and will certainly be well recieved by Patterson fans.

A great collaboration by the fantastic James Patterson and a previous president Bill Clinton, this book, like their two previous books together, is gripping with a sense of realism due to Bill Clinton's knowledge of the white house and its protocols and procedures and James character-building skills and storytelling abilities, you will be left wanting more.
