I have heard of James Patterson, but I was definitely drawn by a former president being one of the authors, and though I’ve not read many action books I was intrigued.

This was a tense and enjoyable read, I enjoyed reading from the different points of view. Mel was my favourite character, she was so strong and believable. I’ve now bought a copy of The President is Missing by the same authors and can’t wait to get into it.

I highly recommend this book and I love that through Patterson teaming up with Clinton I felt as though I was getting an accurate insight into the life of a POTUS. Thank you to #NetGalley and the publisher for my free advance copy in return for an unbiased review.

601 pages of pure thriller
It took me a few chapters ( my fault for not reading the blurb such was my keenness to read this ) to realise this is 100% stand alone and nothing to do with the previous ‘The President Is Missing’…..it is a completely different family and thus story, so both can be read in either order
It is fantastic, it really is, the story superb, the writing top notch/edge of seat stuff and the mix of Patterson’s story telling and Clinton’s experience and insight just makes for a tremendous affair!
There is a part in the book that is so ‘No, this can’t happen, it can’t’ then it does it really jolts you and from then on the book is one non stop adventure, it is tense and feels real and puts you right there, part of it
I loved everything about it and so hope they do a 3rd book
An amazing collaboration, an amazing book

President Matthew Keating has known all his career how to be strong and resilient. From being a navy seal to being the leader of the free world. But even he isn’t able to cope when the unimaginable happens. Someone has abducted his daughter. In a race against time he will have to use all his skills and ability, even if this means putting his life on the line, to save the day.
This is another great story by Bill Clinton and James Patterson. They have now produced two very high class pieces of work. The book is authentically believable, with its intense scenes and it’s exhilarating storyline. It’s a book that is unputdownable until it’s climactic end.
This is duo that knows how to tell a story. Just sensational. A book I highly recommend.

Always have loved books by James Patterson and then adding Bill Clinton to the mix the story is bound to be good! It was nice to hear actually read some insights into his presidency. Loved it

The president's daughter is another great page Turner of a book. It's a perfect summer read. I really enjoyed it

It's been a while since I read a thriller worthy of the name. This definitely fit the genre. James Patterson and Bill Clinton make a good team. The politics and secret service action seemed believable and realistic. The ever present threat of danger to his family even after a president's term is over must be difficult to live with. Former US President Matthew Keating's daughter Mel has been kidnapped and the current administration are blocking attempts to locate her and return her to her terrified parents. There are scenes of terror and horror, I stopped breathing on occasion and felt for the parents so much. Mel is such a brave young woman despite showing her terror at being at the mercy of the world's most wanted terrorist. A great read. #netgalley #thepresidentsdaughter

Michael Keating is a former Navy SEAL -- and a former President of the United States, now relocated to rural New Hampshire after a brave but ill-fated military mission cost him his second term. All he wants is to sink into anonymity with his family (and his Secret Service detail). But when he's briefed on an imminent threat against his daughter, Keating's SEAL training may prove more essential than all the power, connections, and political acumen he gained as President.

I loved this book and everything in it. Just loved it. For me, the authors have written a fast-paced and very exciting thriller with lots of action which was full of tension and suspense. This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

Thanks to NetGalley and The Publisher for this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was great! I couldn't put it down. A mix of Scandal and Taken but in book form - action, scheming, peril, backstabbing, vengeance - it had it all. So much detail but a page turner. Clinton and Patterson are a winning combination.

Firstly, I must confess that I have not found all of James Patterson’s books to my liking. I did enjoy some, but not them all. Having said that, The President’s Daughter was a truly excellent read, one of those books you just didn’t want to put down..
Highly recommended.
I must now read the first Clinton/Patterson book to see how it compares.

The President’s Daughter by James Patterson and Bill Clinton is a huge 5 star read.
After reading the President is missing by these authors I didn’t think anything would be better until I read this book. There’s the twists and turns you expect from a James Patterson book but add in an ex US President and you have the best book of the year so far, I really hope these two continue to write great stories together.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book through Netgalley.

As we have come to expect and love from James Patterson this book is fast paced with short chapters that keep the story moving along at breakneck speed.

By partnering with Bill Clinton to write the book I think we get some real insight into how things actually work behind the curtain of the presidency.

I enjoyed this book and the plot was interesting, with some twists that kept you guessing and me reading the book late into the night.

Short, sharp, exciting, full of atmosphere and twists and turns, this is a compelling and easy read that entertains if not demanding too much from the reader.

The Patterson/Clinton dream team has produced again and this is a better book than "The President in Missing" and is a seamless partnership between two experts in their fields who each contribute fully to what is a sure fire best seller..

What a brilliant read!! Action-packed and fast-paced and it kept me on the edge of my seat! It felt very authentic and I can just see a brilliant action movie in the future.

This story takes us from Libya to America and back. It's the story of a President who manned up to his mistakes but in doing so set in motion his own downfall and fixed a big target on his back for one pissed-off terrorist.
Nearly 2 years after he became the first president to lose re-election against his own vice president, his daughter is kidnapped and the fun begins because Matt Keating is also an ex-Navy seal. One who will do anything to get his daughter back.
Definitely one of my best reads so far this year.

I missed The President is Missing (book 1) but I don't feel that it hampered my enjoyment of this new book. There was certainly enough of the previous book scattered through the storyline that I knew what had happened previously.

I really enjoy a decent thriller that I can sink my teeth into and there is certainly plenty to chew over here. The chapters are short, which made digesting that political babble somewhat easier for me. Especially as being Scottish I only have a vague outline of the US political apparatus but I have a few American friends who kept me on the straight and narrow whenever I got a bit lost.

Keating is perfect as the former President, ousted by his former VP. Now living the life of a civilian (if any ex-President could be labelled as such), he and his family are getting on with their lives. But someone has it in for Michael and they are going after his weak spot - his daughter! But this first kid is not just about to lie down and be the perfect abductee. She will use every tip and trick she soaked up from her Secret Service detail and she is determined she will get back home.

Keating and his trusty secret service agent and few assorted allies are going to take things to the next level. The USA may not negotiate with terrorists and crackpot kidnappers, but Keating and Crew can take a few "shortcuts" through bureaucracy since they are no longer part of the administration. Michael's time in the Teams is sure about to come in handy!

Thoroughly enjoyed my tromp through the quagmire that is politics in the DC arena!

Entertaining read with plenty of twists. Co-written by Bill Clinton , who else would know about getting the president’s daughter back.?Thoroughly enjoyed this book even though the ending was slightly obvious.

This is the first Patterson and Clinton collaboration that I have read, and after this I will definitely read more.

I thought the story got off to a much slower start than usual for Patterson, however it kicks into action when the President's daughter is kidnapped.

I enjoyed the political aspect to this book, that I presume was brought in by Clinton. At times it felt like it was a mixture of Jack Ryan and Harrison Ford in Air Force One. I can definitely see this book being made into a Hollywood Action Movie.

My advice is don't be put off by the first few chapters, they are there for a reason and you will miss out on an exciting, gripping read.

The President’s Daughter is a scintillating, action-packed standalone action-adventure thriller in which there's a new administration in the White House. But it's the previous First Family who tops an international assassin's hit list. Michael Keating was vice president when the president, Martin Lovering, died of an aortic aneurysm while on a fishing trip. This allowed Keating to accede to the Oval Office and become president. A former Navy SEAL, Keating wants vengeance for sadistic Islamic terrorist Asim Al-Asheed’s torture and slaughter of captured SEAL Boyd Tanner and orders an operation to assassinate him inside his compound in the Libyan mountains. Unfortunately, he survives despite the bombs and bullets directed his way, but his wife and 3 daughters are killed. So, of course, the cycle of revenge starts all over again. At the next election, Keating is succeeded by his Vice President Pamela Barnes. He relocates to rural New Hampshire and has almost pushed the ill-fated military mission to the back of his mind when Al-Asheed abducts Keating’s 19-year-old daughter Melanie. She had been hiking on the Huntsman Trail, which heads towards Mount Rollins, in New Hampshire and the trooper who attended the scene found her ID in a knapsack next to the body of a young man who had been shot to death. Al-Asheed requests three conditions to be met to ensure her safe return: the release of 3 inmates being held in the super-max prison in Florence, Colorado.

A ransom in the amount of $100 million in bitcoin to be paid within the next thirty-six hours and a full pardon from President Pamela Barnes for any crimes he may or may not have committed against Americans in the United States or abroad. But Barnes has never been fond of Keating and Mel's mother, Samantha, doesn't trust her to get her daughter back so Keating must liaise with Danny Cohen of Mossad, Major General Ahmad Bin Nayef of Saudi Arabia's General Intelligence Directorate and the New Hampshire State Police. Officer Corinne Bradford of NH Police is the one to locate where Asim is staying and soon a huge effort is mounted to try and capture him and reunite Mel with her family. This is a compulsive, engrossing and thoroughly entertaining thriller packed with non-stop action, wild twists and turns and more intense and nail-biting drama than you can shake a stick at. It's propulsive and riveting from the very first page as the co-authors drop you right into the middle of the excitement. You need to be able to suspend your disbelief to some extent as some of the plot is a little too serendipitous, but most people know that about Patterson's books, however, Clinton does add some authenticity to it all regarding terrorist and army operations, which I thoroughly appreciated. It's a fun and absorbing read, and I love that these thrillers can be enjoyed by anyone as they provide all the necessary thrills but aren't demanding in terms of brainpower.

Thankyou to #netgalley for the advanced copy to read
Wow!! What a book it’s a rollercoaster from the start first the politics inside the White House which I assume are courtesy of Mr Clinton, they are fantastic reading. So involved down to knowing the secret service would have briefed his daughter, more later.
We all knew they had nicknames for POTUS and family but didn’t realise protection carries on after office except for the children. And that is where ex president Matt Keating is failed years before he apologised for a failed mission in which a terrorists family were killed and he lost the re-election over it ,that terrorist is coming for his daughter now
A terrible day when Matt is told there have been threats made against his family buried in the new White House bureaucracy by then Mel has been kidnapped and they have no idea were she is and they know that the new administration will not pay any ransom or meet any demands
So will his daughter die?

Is this book ridiculous? Yes
Did I storm through it in 4 days? Also yes.

Having really enjoyed The President is Missing, I was looking forward to reading this one, and it didn't disappoint! It's a classic political thriller, with some good old special forces action - it's like the movie Air Force One crossed with Jack Ryan, and I loved it.

The President's Daughter follows ex-POTUS (and ex- Navy Seal) Matt Keating, as he fights (both politically and literally) a terrorist threat against his teenage daughter. The partnership of James Patterson and Bill Clinton works - Patterson brings the thriller tension, and Clinton brings the knowledge.

I'd 100% read another of these - you know exactly what you're getting, and it doesn't disappoint. And if you haven't read The President is Missing - this is not a sequel, you can read either!

Thanks to Cornerstone, and NetGalley for the pre-release review copy of this book.
