Im really shocked to see as many positive reviews as there are. I couldn't stand this in the slightest even though I really wanted to enjoy this. This felt self-important and without real purpose. I couldnt wait for it to end. I don't enjoy giving negative reviews, but if someone told me they were thinking about reading this I genuinely would tell them it's not worth their time.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review - this one just wasn't it for me.

This was a great read I was greeted with surprises throughout the whole book and the ending was beyond satisfying. Overall a great read!

💫REVIEW💫 - Eating The Moon by Mark David Campbell [AD - NetGalley]

🌟🌟🌟

“Alexa, play Perfect Illusion by Lady Gaga🎶“

🌚 Quite explicit sexual scenes
😒 Narrating character is a pain in the arse
👀 That twistttt tho

This was a nice book to read. It wasn’t a page-turner but my interest was kept just enough to get me to the end. Some of the sexual encounters are quite intense and graphic so whilst there’s a TW on the synopsis, so be cautious if this could be triggering for you🚫. At times I found them unnecessary, not conducive to the story and a bit 🥴.

I enjoyed the flitting between the psychologists room and the story. I liked that I was kept guessing until the very end and that I did not see the twist coming at all 🤯. It did leave me with questions but questions I was content with being unanswered because it left it with a big of ✨magic✨.

This was a step outside my usual reads and it was enjoyable! I would liken this to a filler episode of a TV show. It’s nice to watch and fill some time but you’re not going to be texting in the group chat about it😺.

After finishing Eating the Moon, I waiting a few days to review it. I wasn't what I expected. There were some parts I enjoyed, but overall, I wasn't invested. I did enjoy the concept. I mean who wouldn't want to live in a space where you are the majority. As a queer person, I know I dream of a place like that island too. But this book wasn't for me. Things moved slowly, and the jumping back and forth was tedious.
