Sarah has been so focused on forging her career in technology that her personal life has taken a back seat. After her grandmother passed away she returned to Blue Moon Bay for a couple of days to finalize her estate only to find out that she has inherited a Bed & Breakfast. She doesn’t want to dishonor her grandmother by selling it to a developer so with the help of Wes she decides to renovate it before selling.

After Wes’s wife passed away a few years earlier he is trying to balance his construction company and his nine year old daughter Marissa. This job is very important for both his and his daughter’s future however he didn’t expect her to inspire feelings in him that he never expected to feel again especially since her life is back in LA.

I really enjoyed seeing the relationship develop not only between Sarah and Wes but Sarah and Marissa as well. As an added bonus Sarah learns more about her grandmother’s past which gives her a new perspective on the woman and life.

Sarah and Wes were friends in high school, and when she ends up back in her hometown, all the feelings from her old crush resurface. Wes is a widower and single dad, so the attraction takes a little longer for him.
The main characters were all very likeable. The seaside setting and the B&B renovation made for an interesting story. I loved watching Sarah with Marissa, Wes' daughter. This was a fairly lighthearted, sweet book. Felt realistic as both characters had job issues and life to deal with.

A Lot Like Love by Jennifer Snow was just the book I needed to read right now. It is a charming, sweet, feel good book about love, relationships, family and new beginnings. A perfect summer read.

Sarah Lewis lives in LA working in the tech industry. She recently inherited her grandmothers run down B&B in Blue Moon Bay, California after she passed away. Sarah decides she wants to renovate and sell the B&B as soon as possible and get back to her career in LA.

What Sarah didn’t count on was bumping into her high school crush, Wes. Wes is struggling with his Reno company and raising his 9 year old daughter alone after his wife passed away. Sarah was his high school tutor helping him with his studies so he could graduate and get a football scholarship.

When Wes and Sarah’s paths cross, old feelings resurface causing Sarah to doubt her decision to sell the B&B as Wes takes on the renovation job. Along the way, Sarah forms a deep connection with Wes’ daughter Marissa and also learns of her grandmothers secret past!

Jennifer Snow writes in such a refreshing uplifting way. It was such a sweet story that I could not put it down. I read it in one sitting. A Lot Like Love is the first book in a new series by Jennifer Snow called
Blue Moon Bay. I cannot wait for book two to come out and see where the series takes us.

Thank you Entangled Publishing, Jennifer Snow and NetGalley for the chance to read A Lot Like Love. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This single dad romance was just the romance I needed! Perfect beach read!

Sarah Lewis is a workaholic, but inherits a B&B after her Grandmother passes. Widow Wes Sharrun is trying to help her renovate the B&B. They knew one another in high school, but he never had the attraction he is feeling for her now. With his 9 year old daughter, Marissa needing help with things that Sarah knows more about then Wes, she starts to feel an attachment that will be difficult to part with once Sarah moves back to LA.

This book had a wonderful storyline, characters, and setting! I would recommend grabbing a towel and heading to the beach for this one! 4.5 stars!

A Lot Like Love is written by a newer-to-me author, Jennifer Snow. The characters are likable with a working relationship, a young, enchanting girl, and an inn to restore. When Sarah Lewis inherits the inn she thinks to sell it but the interested buyers would tear it down. This is a different idea than what she had imagined. Hence she hires the best contractor to help her renovate who also happens to be someone she knew when they were much younger.

Wes Sharrun’s life has not turned out he way he had expected. A widower with an adolescent daughter he is struggling in so many ways. You can’t help but feel for him. You also want more for him; more security financially, more peace of mind, more love, and more happiness. The story draws you in seeing the possibilities for them before they can see them. Well developed with all the emotions that make a wonderful story.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

4 1/2 STARS!

Adorably sweet with a side of sass! Jennifer Snow is kicking off her brand new Blue Moon Bay series with a gem of a friends to lovers twist and I loved every minute of it. A LOT LIKE LOVE reconnects these old high school friends with Sarah holding on tight to a long winded grudge against Wes. Endearing characters, equal parts sweet and fiery and well deserved happily ever afters.

Sarah is a self-sufficient , strong-willed character, but when she's faced with working with her long ago high school crush on a daily basis, her willpower is likely to sag. Throw in his precociously brilliant daughter and she's definitely a goner!

Wes is a devoted father and an all around good guy. He's suffered loss and is trying to pick the pieces back up and gain a better future for his family of two, but Sarah is a temptation he never expected.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a small coastal town feel to a cast of close-knit characters and a mystery or two thrown in to boot on that way towards forever.

A small town, a single dad to the smartest 9-year-old you've ever encountered, a nerdy heroine and an old B&B renovation are what makes this book the perfect summer read.

Technically, it's not a second-chance romance, since Sarah and Wes were never a couple, but it sure feels like one, with all the repressed feelings and the sexual tension between them! Both characters were very well written and, despite not loving the ending - maybe a little to hasty-, I genuinely liked how their relationship developed and how they finally got together in the end.

I loved how the relationship between Sarah and Marissa was slowly built over time and felt so real and natural. And Wes trying to raise his daughter alone, after losing his wife to cancer, constantly doubting himself and his parenting choices really tugged my heartstrigs.
I feel like these were the main reasons why this book didn't feel super cheesy or insta-lovey. True, it's still a lighthearted read, but the story and the characters also felt relatable and real.

Sarah's grandma's diary entries really fascinated me and I wish the author revealed a bit more of her story and her lost love.

I was afraid I wouldn't love this as much as the Wild River series, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book and Jennifer Snow is really great at capturing the atmosphere and the essence of these remote little towns.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a cute, lighthearted and heartwarming romance.

I love starting new series. You go in learning about the new characters and places. Some authors will give you enough in the series starter to really get a feel for everyone and the town and others give you just enough to keep you wondering. Snow for me is the second one. She gives you enough to come back but it takes a few books to really know the town and the people who leave in it.

I really enjoyed both Sarah and Wes. They both seemed like good people. Poor Wes has been through the wringer the last few years. You can't help but feel for him. On top of all that he's not totally sure how to relate to his daughter. What I like is that he keeps trying and takes advice from Sarah about it.

While Wes is bogged down with what life has thrown his way Sarah is more focused on herself and what she wants. She can't see that there is another way of life until Wes and his daughter came into her life. I liked how she changed and learned to care about someone else.

I also liked the relationship Sarah has with her friends. They all care about each other and it shows in this book. I would have liked a bit more with both Wes and Sarah's friends. I think it would have made for a fuller story.

As a whole, I really enjoyed A Lot Like Love and can't wait for the next book in the series. The only thing I felt was left out was how Wes's inlaws handed him getting with Sarah. The author gave you a glimpse of how'd the act but I felt it was dropped and never brought back up again. It's a forgivable thing since I liked it so much.

When elderly Dove passed away, she left her dilapidated Bed and Breakfast to the last person everyone suspected, her grand daughter Sarah. Sarah grew up in Blue Moon Bay, but her life and career is now in LA. She just wants to clean up the B&B and put a for sale sign on the lawn and walk away. She knows nothing about running an inn and she has no clue why her grandmother would leave it to her. When she runs into her old flame Wes and his adorable daughter, fate just might have other plans for Sarah.

Jennifer Snow wrote this sweet and adorable small town love story beautifully. She captured the essence of small-town living, and the tug on the heartstrings about coming home again. I loved the characters and how they each had their own struggles, yet together they could conquer their fears and move forward. The supporting characters tweaked my interest, and I am hoping to read their stories in upcoming books. This was the perfect book to curl up with on a sunny afternoon. Thank you Harlequin, author Jennifer Snow and Netgalley for an arc to read and review, all opinions written are my own.

I loved this book! It was the perfect, quick summer read that had me hooked from the beginning! I loved all of the characters and how they grew throughout the story. While there were some sad/ serious parts in the book— they really did make the story what it was! I definitely recommend this book for this summer!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced digital copy of this book!

A sweet and lovely story. Sarah inherits her grandmother’s B&B which causes complications in her life. Wes is a widower and single dad barely hanging on after the death of his wife. Marissa is his marvelous 9 year old daughter. The characters in the story are one of the things that will snag your attention. They are heartwarming and delightful. It is a warmth that is felt throughout the speech and actions they take to support and assist each other in this small town setting. As the couple falls in love it becomes a family affair that will leave you a little misty eyed.

3 - "It’s only ever been you for me…" Stars!

A Lot Like Love is the introductory book to Jennifer Snow’s Blue Moon Bay series, and I can safely say it’s a place I’d love to visit.

Widower and single-dad Wes Sharrun - the towns golden boy, ex-footballer, now construction company owner he spends his days doing more work for free than he does getting paid for it, so when Sarah Lewis inherits her late Grandmothers Inn; Dove’s Nest and decides to renovate it pre-sale, before jetting back to L.A. he sees it as an opportunity to boost the businesses coffers as well as show exactly how good his work is.

This is a couple with a past, he was the school jock, she the studious nerd who tutored him and secretly fancied him. Although as they start to reconnect again, that young attraction may not have been as one sided as she initially thought. This is an extremely slow burn book in the way of romance, which is understandable as he is a single father, and she’s not initially planning to stay in town, and most of it is spent with the two of them circling each other. Although, I liked that we got too meet a few of the other town folk and Sarah’s single BFF’s, as well as the side story of her Grandmother’s love life told in the form of her journals from back in the 40’s.

And that’s why this one fell a little short for me, because although I didn’t struggle to read it, I just felt the aspect of her grandmothers past had a whole lot more to give to the story as did the actual relationship between her and Wes. I wanted more depth and development in both areas, because I felt short-changed on them by the time we reached the sweet epilogue. I’m hoping now that the series has been set up the author gives her characters more depth in future books because I see real potential in this series.

This book started off making me laugh. I loved Sarah! She's such an overachiever. Wes is the perfect match for her. The characters complemented each other perfectly. Wes's daughter Marissa is awesome! The book is a fast read. It's got lots of heart and a good mix of humor. I hope the author writes more in this setting so we can visit again and find out more about Sarah's friends in the future. I enjoyed the pacing and the style of this author and will be looking for other books by her in the future. I received an advance copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Funny, sweet, second chance romance where secrets are revealed
Once I started reading this book, I couldn’t put it down. The characters came to life for me and I truly cared what befell them. There were two second chance romances in this story. One ends well and another does not. I will admit I cried tears of sadness and those of joy at different times. I smiled a lot and even laughed at one scene. Marissa is a hoot! When Wes describes her as nine-years-old going on 30, he was so right.
Sarah has inherited a decrepit old B&B from her grandma, Dove’s Nest. Her intent is to sell it as soon as possible to get back to L.A. where she works in computer technologies. Enter her former HS crush Wes, 32yo widower and contractor, who encourages her to renovate to get a better price for the old building. The story is somewhat predictable but in a good way. The reader senses in which direction Sarah will go. Some long-held secrets will be divulged. Their backstories are relatable. These characters seem so real. Their angst so palpable. And finally, their joy so overflowing. If you like sweet second chance romance with secretive and alluring looks until they become more, read this story. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Entangled/NetGalley and give it without reservation at least 5 stars!

Sarah just inherited her grandmother’s B&B, which has seen better days. After falling partially through a landing on the stairs, she is found by her high school crush Wes, who is now a contractor and a widower with nine year old daughter Marissa. Will sparks fly, will she fall back in love with Wes and her home town? Read this fun book to find out.

I received a copy of this book to review through NetGalley and really enjoyed it.

Jennifer Snow is a phenomenal author. The worlds she creates are dreamy. I love her writing style. Her stories are breathtaking.

In A Lot Like Love we are introduced to a new series and also meet Wes and Sarah. Wes and Sarah knew each other from high school. Sarah had a crush on Wes. Now years later she returns to town after inheriting her grandmother's B&B. Wes is a widow and has an adorable daughter who is a lot like Sarah. Wes and Sarah reconnect when he helps her fix up the B&B.

I love everything about A Lot Like Love. The chemistry that Wes and Sarah have is undeniable. I love how Sarah was able to befriend Wes's daughter, Marissa and connect with her. I love the details in the book. I love the secondary characters. I laughed, cried and had so many heartwarming moments. I became invested in the town, character's and story. I fell in love with Blue Moon Bay and everything it has to offer. Reading A Lot Like Love was a delight. I was not able to put it down. Jennifer Snow captivated my heart and soul from page one. I was saddened to see this story end. The words danced off the page and into my heart. Very captivating and a definite page turner. A book worth reading again.
I received this ARC from Netgalley but the opinions are my own.

I was provided an Arc of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book is wonderful. It has all the charm you expect from Jennifer Snow and such a lovely view of a small town romance. The story is so vivid that I can even picture the renovated B&B. Snow is truly an amazing story teller. This book will keep you hooked and make you fall in love.

I adored this book, the setting, and the characters. With a girl who inherits her grandma’s b&b, a swoony single father, and a beautiful location on the west coast, this book was very much like a Hallmark story with more steam. It was perfection. I’ve seen Jennifer Snow’s other books and I’ve had a bunch of them on my TBR for a while, but when I saw this new book which starts a new series, I jumped at the opportunity to read it. It’s the perfect summer read!
