I enjoyed this book. The touch of forced proximity with Wes doing the renovation on Sarah's B&B was a nice touch.
The opening of this book was enough for me to know I would relate well with Sarah. It was nice to read about a character that got herself k to predicaments.
As is normal in a book like this with a kid in it I fell in love with Marissa. She is quite the young lady and I was really impressed by her.
Wes is a really good guy. But there were times he really annoyed me with his overprotective and anti-internet attitude.
To be honest, Wes and Sarah's story was great but the journal entries and Lia's parts didn't really connect enough for me. They were fine, but they were distractions.
The second chance romance in this book was good.
I received an advanced copy of this book through it. This is my honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.....
Let’s start with I read the book in 2 days, it’s a great summer read! I’m glad that it’s the first in a series so I can revisit the characters once again.
It’s a cute romance set in a cosy beach town starting with a former klutzy geek child now adult inheriting a B&B from her grandmother and finding herself in a precarious situation....in comes the former high school football athlete now hunky carpenter and dad to a 9 year old tech wizard to the rescue. It’s a story about finding oneself and falling in love with a few twists and turns. It’s a sweet romance with a few steamy scenes.....perfect read to escape reality for a bit.
I’m looking forward to seeing which character will be the main focus in the next book in series.

This was a wonderful book. It also had a lot of steam, for those readers who enjoy that aspect of a book. I really enjoyed every part of the plot.

I love Jennifer Snow books, so I jumped at the chance to be able to read and review this ARC. It did not disappoint. I adore second chance and small town romances. This isn't a traditional second chance in the sense that the characters were never together in the past, but there was potential and feelings. To me, it's still a second chance romance. I also love books where characters inherit a business and have a chance to give it a go. It doesn't matter how many times I read the type of books, I still adore them. There were moments of funny in this book. I thought the hero and heroine were very well written and the backstory was solidly developed. Sarah is trying to fix up her grandmother's B&B to give it a go. Wes is a sexy, single dad contractor who is doing the work on the B&B. Sarah used to tutor him in high school This romance is heartwarming and gave me all the feels. I enjoyed the steam in the sex scenes and the solid connection between the hero and heroine. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Thanks to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for allowing me to read and review this book.

I was initially drawn in by the cute cover and adorable synopsis and overall the book did not disappoint. What really shined for me was the relationship between Wes Marissa. There was a sweetness to their relationship, but I enjoyed that they were the total opposite. I loved seeing a parent who is growing and learning to be a better parent with a child who has different interests than him. I love that Marissa was into coding and how Wes found ways to connect and encourage her.
Wes and Sarah were fun and endearing. I did have a hard time seeing the spark with their relationship. I think with the story being told as a third person narrative I felt a slight disconnect with the characters while reading the story. I wanted a bit more depth to their relationship and their chemistry felt more like friends than star crossed lovers.
Overall I thought this book was sweet. It was a fast paced read, with good writing. Though at times, key elements were missing for me, I did enjoy the story as a whole and felt that other relationships shined to fill the void that was missing for me.

A sweet, but also steamy romance. I skipped over the intimate details, but enjoyed the second chance at love. The child brought a lot to the story. I am glad to see this is a series as there are things I wanted to happen, but the book ended. Yes, they do get their happily ever after. I wanted more from Jack. Read the book to discover his part in the tale.

Sarah Lewis is back in Blue Moon Bay for the funeral of her grandmother. What she didn't expect was to inherit Dove's Nest, a B&B. They place was falling apart and all she wanted to do was sell it and get out of town. Wes Sharrum has given Dove a quote on the cost of rehabbing the place. Now he needs to talk Sarah into doing the work in order to get top dollar. The only problem is the Wes was her high school crush and she has never moved on. Wes had married and has a daughter Marrissa. So she hired Wes and was helping Marrissa with her coding project. They were falling into an old pattern till the blow up. Now neither are speaking to each other. In the end, grandma knows best. She knew they loved each other but had to find a way to get them together. Dove's Nest worked once, it could work again.

Nice love story. Characters were great. Felt like I knew them all. Loved the side story with Sarah’s grandmother. Great writing. Just an overall nice, feel good story!

When Sarah Lewis inherits a run down B&B from her grandmother, she's ready to sell it and flee town and head back to her life in LA as fast as possible.
But when her old crush Wes Sharrun convinces her to restore it first with his construction company, sparks fly and deepen as Sarah begins to form a motherly bond with Wes's daughter. But with a promotion on the horizon in LA will Sarah choose her career or newfound love?
This story was a sweet read, the characters were interesting and relatable and I will be keeping an eye out for more works by this author.

A Lot Like Love is a wonderful story of new beginnings for old friends that should warm the heart of all romance lovers. In high school football star Wes only had eyes for one girl and it wasn’t his tutor, Sarah. Now a widower with a precocious daughter he begins to see Sarah differently when she returns to town to get her grandmother’s inn ready for sale. The story develops at a natural pace...no insta-love, and the daughter is a delight. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Highly recommend.

I requested to read and review this book for free from Entangled Publishing. Jennifer Snow the author did a great job with this story line. Love the disclaimer in the beginning. Story line takes place on the west Coast in California. Sarah is a smart, loyal, has a heart of gold that comes back to her hometown. Wes is a hometown hero that came home to raise his daughter. Marissa is a super smart little girl that wants to be her own person and not be put into a box. Whitney and Jessica the BFF. This book had romance, mystery ,drama, and reality. Can someone from your past that hurt you be forgiven, can love conquer all? Is a first love your only love and sometimes reality is not happily ever after. This is for a mature reader. But can be ready anytime.

Sarah as well as the rest of the family is surprised when she inherits her grandmother's B&B. Hopefully, she can sell it and get back to her tech job in the city without seeing Wes. When Sarah gets wedged in the splintered landing of the spiral staircase, Wes is the one that rescues her. Wes convinces Sarah to let him renovate the B&B before she sells it. Before long, sparks are flying between the two of them. When Wes brings his brilliant nine year old daughter Marissa to work, Sarah and Marissa connect immediately. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This is the first book that I have read by Jennifer Snow and I will look for more of her books to read. I enjoyed the humorous moments in the book, especially with Lia in town for a family reunion. I love how widower Wes really loved his wife and is trying to understand his daughter. I also love how both Sarah and Wes struggle with starting a relationship. I also love how Sarah is so sharp and really relates to Marissa. Even though this is a sweet romance, it does have a few steamy scenes. I really enjoyed this book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. I absolutely loved the characters and the story! Had me hooked from the very beginning! I couldn't put the book down! I would recommend this to any reader who loves good characters and believable up to date real life scenarios. It was easy to get emotionally involved with the story. The setting is superb and the author's descriptive style of writing brought it all to life. I could not put it down. So romantic!

A Lot Like Love is such a sweet read. If you love those single fathers, small town reads then you will fall in love with this one. I love Sarah and Wes so much. You feel for Wes as he does what he can to raise his daughter and keep his company afloat. He is an amazing father that will own your heart. I love how Sarah takes a giant step out of her comfort zone when she takes over the B&B her grandma left her. You feel the sparks fly with Wes and Sarah as they reconnect. I love how Sarah is with Wes's daughter Marissa. They create such a sweet bond together. Marissa is a sweet little matchmaker that will put a smile on your face. I cannot wait to read more of the Blue Moon Bay series to come. This is my first time reading anything from Jennifer Snow and I cannot wait for more. I could not put this down.

This is an entertaining beach read. There are delightful characters, chemistry, a bit of mystery, an awesome setting, and a captivating story. I look forward to the next book in the series.

A Lot Like Love by J. Snow, published by Entangled Publishing, is book one in the Blue Moon Bay Series.
Sarah Lewis inherited a B&B and there's a lot to do in her granny's home to get it back to its old shine and glory. Sarah is good people, a keeper and she does everything to get the business up.
Wes Sharrun is a single dad with a flailing construction company. He's already through a lot and has the scars to prove it. Both meet and it seems they're destined to help each other. But some scars simply run too deep and love isn't always enough.
A heart-wrenching story, beautiful and emotional thta gave me all the feels. A small-town romance about second chances. The author did an excellent job with this great story, 5 stars.

I liked this book, but it wasn't love for me. The concept was great - Sarah inherits a B&B in a very serious state of disrepair from her grandmother. The B&B is in the town where she grew up - and she has a lot of history their. Including with hometown football hero Wes. Sarah tutored Wes throughout his junior and senior year of high school - which pretty much allowed him to graduate. Sarah had a pretty major crush on Wes - but he had a girlfriend (who later became his wife). Since then, Sarah has gone on to have a career in developing and marketing apps - but when she inherits the inn she takes Wes up on his offer to renovate it, in hopes of selling for the best price.
She and Wes ( now a widower with a 9 year-old) connect. Sarah and Marissa especially find common ground with their love of technology - especially in the face of Wes's technophobia.
All of this would be more than enough for the plot of the book - but there was a lot more going on. There are subplots involving A high school frenemy who returns to town to host a family reunion, a lost love story based on letters between Sarah's grandmother and her first love, Wes trying to rebuild his business, and more. I think in the face of all the subplots - the main plot got a little lost. I also didn't love Wes. He is a devoted single dad - but his wishy washy behavior towards Sarah just didn't do it for me.
I also found Marissa to be wayyyyyy more mature than any 9 year old I know. I think maybe if she had been 11 or 12, even, I would have found her a more believable character. There was also one scene that just really really bothered me - and I almost DNF'd the book at that point - <spoiler> Sarah and Wes go skinny dipping in a sort of re-creation of an event that happened in high school that Sarah is still very salty about. After things get hot and heavy between them - Sarah runs back to the beach, gets dressed steals Wes's clothes, and leaves him naked on the beach without a way to get dressed or get home. Truthfully - Sarah's behavior was incredibly childish and really vindictive. It really wasn't funny - and I actually was shocked they were able to come back from that as a couple. Leave him alone in the water fine - but to steal his clothes and leave him naked in public was just really awful. Maybe I'm being too sensitive - but if the tables had been turned - we would never wanted Sarah to end up with Wes. </spoiler>
So yeah - I wanted to love this book - but I think it needed more focus and less childishness on the part of the main characters.
I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

Thanks NetGalley for this ARC.
This is the first novel in Jennifer Snow’s new Blue Moon Bay series and the first I have read from this author. A Lot Like Love is a second chance romance telling the story of Sarah and Wes. Sarah returns to Blue Moon Bay after the death of her grandmother where she inherits a rundown B&B that Wes helps her restore. Sarah is a professional in her field and renovating the Inn takes her well out of her comfort zone. Wes is a widowed single dad trying to make his construction business work.
I loved the characters as they felt real, the dialogue was catchy and overall the story made me feel like I was “coming home”. The story was really well written and sweet. I loved Sarah’s character and found her really relatable. Wes was sweet but a little pig headed at times. I really loved Marissas character as well. The relationship between Sarah and her best friends (Jessica and Whitney) were really fun. The only things I really disliked or felt were missing was the lack of an ending with Jack and no resolution with Wes’ previous in-laws regarding Sarah.
Definite a book that I couldn’t put down!
Can’t wait to read the next in the series and see whether Whitney or Jessica gets the next story!
