This very shy boy who was sidelined by illness at age eight grew to be a very special and different artist who developed a whole new ideas in commercial and advertising art. The illustrations are mostly simple and forthright with brilliant colors thanks to illustrator Timothy Hunt.
I requested and received a free temporary ebook copy from Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books via NetGalley. Thank you!

I learned so much about Andy Warhol. I wish the book went a little deeper in some topics, like when he was sick as a child. It made me research him more, but I don't know if a child would be inclined to do that as well. I like how this series focuses on uncommon people for biographies in a kid-friendly format. Just put a bit more details in it!!

Very vibrant illustrations that reflect Warhol himself. It wasn’t my favourite in the series but these books are never poorly done!

This entry in the delightful Little People, Big Dreams series tells the story of shy, young Andy Warhola who grew up to be the renowned pop artist, Andy Warhol. How did this transformation take place? Can every day objects have their place in the world of “ART?” Young readers will find out as they learn more about this book’s subject. Hopefully, it will inspire them.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

This series is always a joy to read, it’s a really nice introduction to well known people for little children. Of course the plot is always a little bit fast but that’s to be expected and it’s totally understandable.
This book here is all about Andy Warhol, the king of Pop art. This artist definitely introduced new ways to look at art and also to create it! Thanks to him ordinary objects were turned into art and everyone loved it. Andy Warhol is a very known person in popular culture and so it was very interesting to read about him in this new volume of Little People, Big Dreams.

This was a cute and quick basic read to get kids familiar with the genius that is Andy Warhol. I wasn't all that crazy about art but it was cute. I just hope that the printed copy won't have this stretched kind of look that the e-copy had, but that aside, this was a fine read.

I want more!

This little book impressed me so much more so because of the personality that's being talked about.

Andy's pop art, his eccentric style and fashion, his dedication towards his art and creation: something that's motivational for me while reading this small illustrated book.

The art is eye-popping and full of life.

Thank you author and the publisher for the advance reading copy.

This one is all about Andy Warhol, who invented and made a name for pop art, art that depicts everyday stuff in bright colours.

I knew of him before reading this, but nothing about him, and this were a good introduction, a foundation on which to base reasearch if I were motivated enough. Kind of like you read a Wikipedia article before starting you real research, so you've got a basic idea of the direction it will take.
Only, you know, broken down in chunks and language that appeal to a young audience.

I am a big fan of learning while being entertained, and again, this series does exactly that.
The arc was provided by the publisher.

Andy Warhol is the newest lead in this latest edition of the Little People, BIG DREAMS series by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara. This series is such a delight and the perfect way to educate not just kids but everyone about historic and cultural icons.

Andy Warhol is an American artist, film director, and producer who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. This book follows Warhol as he was a shy child to the creator of pop art to his opening of 'The Factor'.

Timothy Hunt illustrates this installment and does an amazing job. Hunt's' art style was so captivating and his art definitely further helped tell Warhol's story. I love collecting these books and am so thrilled to add this one to the rest of my collection.

I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

A brilliant picture book as bright and vibrant as Warhol's art! A fantastic message for children to see the beautiful 'art' in the every day

Well this series has recently taken a few turns towards honouring people I would in no way, shape or fashion think of as inspirational (Rupaul, FFS?!?!), so I guess it's only fair I look at this mid-point title, looking at someone else I usually find nothing generous to say about but have to admit was some kind of iconic figure. At least this taught me many things I didn't know about the man – I had no idea how his name-change came about before now, I didn't know about his childhood sicknesses and shyness. No, all I knew about was the insalubrious later years, the junkies, murderers and gay life-style, and that's not going to feature in a book for the primary school library now, is it? Visually, this didn't quite look like the Warhols I know (again, I'm no completist) but certainly had a Pop-py, distinctive style that was quite in keeping, and a lot better than some entrants to this burgeoning franchise. All told, for the lesson it gave, and for the hard work in making it all visually interesting and in keeping, I think this is four stars. I just wish a series like this, if it really has covered the ground of the David Attenboroughs, the Mary Annings, the Rosa Parkses, would just admit such and give up, rather than besmirching everything that gave them such credit before now.

Andy Warhol by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara is the latest addition to the Little People, BIG DREAMS series, which endeavours to inspire children of all ages. This time, we are given a glimpse into the life of Andy Warhol, a painfully shy child who spoke through his art, but eventually finding fame within a cultural movement. As with the previous books in this series, a more detailed biographical timeline of the artist's life is included. While I would not rank this one as a particular favourite from the collection, this book has all of the trademark relevance and charm that we have come to expect from the series and should not be missed.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - Frances Lincoln Children's Books for an ARC.
