Thank you to Net Galley for an advanced copy of this book. What a wonderful story. It is the fifth book in a series, but this is the first book in the series that I have read. I enjoyed it so much that I plan to go back and get my hands on the rest of the series to read!! The characters in this book were all strong individuals, many of which had dark secrets they were hiding. This book engaged me from the very first page and held my interest until the very end. Both Rosa and Wyatt have issues they need to overcome and it is delightful to read the story that their path takes to one another. This is a great summer read that you need to pick up if you are looking for a wonderful HEA.

What I love is that each of them does make a difference to the story as it developed. Like to read how the characters In the story are interrelated to each other. It make the story more exciting to read. The setting of the story is nice and is fit nicely to the story.Story plot are well penned out, with a slight twist to it in the end

I'm a fan of RaeAnne Thayne's books. A Brambleberry Summer is part of The Women of Brambleberry House series. I've only read one of the previous five books and feel that I'm missing some context in the latest book. That said, if you don't mind jumping in on a series this late you might enjoy it. For me it felt almost like two different books. The first part seemed to lag in pacing with angst-y situations, internal dialogue, etc. while the last part really sped up with action. So I liked it but didn't love it. There are a lot of 5 star reviews so perhaps it's just me. I will continue to read Thayne's books and hope this blip is just that.

A Brambleberry Summer is pretty much what you expect from a Harlequin romance. A widowed single father falls in love with his temporary landlord, whose hiding more than a few secrets.

The story itself wasn't bad, but I wasn't overly impressed with it. I'm not sure why, I just didn't believe their love story and everything just felt a little to surface level. The dialogue between everyone felt chopping and didn't flow. Maybe if it was longer I would have been able to form a connection to them.

Overall, A Brambleberry Summer was a decent romance and maybe if I had read the other books in the series I would have felt a better connection to the characters.

RaeAnne Thayer has done it again. This is a great book. Wyatt and Rosa have some problems. They both work on their problems separately but the solutions bring their love together.

Although this book is a part of a series, I have not read any of the other books and was able to thoroughly enjoy the story of Rosa and Wyatt as if it were a standalone. Rosa Galvez lives and works in the little beach town of Cannon Beach, managing the Brambleberry House apartments and running a little souvenir shop. She is totally content with her solitary life, letting into her heart her Irish setter Fiona. Then a new police officer needs a place to stay while his home is being repaired, so he takes at apartment at Brambleberry. Wyatt is recently widowed and has a young, precocious son names Logan. All of the characters were so realistically portrayed that I felt as though I could meet them on the street and instantly know who they were. I felt a great affinity for Rosa, a woman who has a lot of secrets in her past but who is determined to just hold them close and not let anyone touch her heart. Logan, however, could break a heart of stone and that is where Rosa begins to see that she needs to tell others about her past and let go of it. There is building suspense in this book which was unexpected for me since I was thinking this would be just a lighthearted romance. The romance was there, but the road to it was rocky and filled with intrigue. That kept me engaged and reading quickly so I could find out what Rosa’s secrets were and if she could overcome them in order to establish a lasting relationship with Wyatt. Two people with overwhelming hurts in their past discover love, so that was very heartwarming, if totally predictable. What was not predictable was all of the detours that they had to take to get to their happy ending. The plot was very well done, with some unexpected twists and even a sub-plot involving another tenant in the house, Jen and her daughter Addie. The multiple layers also added interest for me as I got to know more of the characters and felt empathy for them. The author did a masterful job of creating an engaging plot, characters with heart and soul, and an ending that wrapped everything up with a bow. Fans of romance will enjoy this journey to Cannon Beach!

While an interesting premist, it was easy to solve = telling the truth almost always lifts the burdens on our soul. I felt thayne let me down on this book, perhaps the Brambleberry series should be retired.

My mother-in-law was the one who got me hooked on RaeAnne Thayne and I'm so glad she did. Fans of Debbie Macomber and Sherryl Woods will enjoy this book.

A Brambleberry Summer by RaeAnne Thayne is the sixth book in her popular The Women of Brambleberry House Series. I have not read the other books in this series, but I will now! This was a fun, light book, with a spunky heroine, a tortured hero, a cute little boy, and a couple of fun dogs to make some mischief for the couple, all set in a beautiful small town on the Oregon coast.

Rosa Galvez just wants to live a peaceful life, managing the three apartments in Brambleberry House and her little store in the small coastal town of Cannon Beach. When a friend suggests she let Officer Wyatt Townsend and his seven-year-old son, Logan rent one of her empty apartments, she knows it’s not a good idea, but she doesn’t have a good reason to refuse. Her quiet, solitary life picks up and her initial attraction to Wyatt gets stronger.

This is a fun, light book, with a powerful and strong heroine, who has a past she’s ashamed of, and has a huge heart, and likes to help others. I found this book to read very fast, I enjoyed the pacing and felt the mysterious background of Rosa and Wyatt made me want to keep reading as fast as I could to get to the end.

The characters are wonderful. Wyatt, a strong lawman, his son Logan, just as cute as can be without being saccharine, and of course the energetic beagle, Hank, and the very elegant Irish Setter Fiona all made a fabulous cast of characters.

The author did an excellent job of describing the beautiful town of Cannon Beach and the lovely old home of Brambleberry House. Although this book is in a series, it’s very much a stand-alone novel.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Like many of RaeAnne Thayne's books, this one is set in small towns and feature some recurring cast members. However, I found this one to be overwritten and melodramatic. Rosa's secret wasn't hard to guess nor was it hard to figure out why the secret would dull her attraction to men, but it doesn't dull her attraction, only makes her fight against it, which in my opinion doesn't make sense.

The book has a couple of subplots, both of which seemed to be just tacked on.

All in all, the book seemed much longer than what it was and I just think it is one of Thaynes weaker works. Grade: C+

Visiting Brambleberry House with Rosa and Wyatt is like going back and hanging out with old friends. I love when an author creates a little town with a cast of characters that makes me want to move there and live with them and being a follower of RaeAnne Thayne I was delighted to be invited back to hang out with not only Rosa and Wyatt, but friends I had made in previous books as well
