This manga is a cute high school romance manga, with a girl that is introverted and ends up dating the popular guy trope. I love how it starts out with her reading her book and when the male lead tries to bring her out of her comfort zone she ends up enjoying it and is slowly evolving.

The relationship between the two leads like I said before is really cute but there is a foreshadowing about the male leads backstory that makes me curious and can't wait to see how it will evolve into his and the female leads current lives.

When a quiet bookish girl is pursued by the most popular guy in school...things go awry. Suehiro is just a girl who loves to read and live a quiet and calm life to avoid the anxieties she has about trying to make friends. When the popular guy Takasago asks her out as a part of a punishment game (essentially he lost a game and has to ask her out for fun) she is mortified and refuses. But he becomes persistent when another student calls him out on it and says it’s essentially bullying. Now he wont leave her alone until she says yes. They begin to get to know each other and soon Suehiro is being brought out of her shell by Takasago and Takasago is learning to read more books.... and so begins a awkward and weird relationship. (I’m not gonna lie, I was rooting for the cute author guy with glasses who calls out Takasago)

*Thanks Netgalley and Kodansha for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review*

Longer review forthcoming. I really enjoyed this manga! It was honestly a really sweet shojo manga! When the most popular boy in school asks out bookish Suehiro on a dare, she calls him out on it- and he unexpectedly refuses to back down! What follows is a sweet story about two people learning more about each other.

This was so cute! Very first-love, high school crush, opposites attract and all that good stuff. The art is super adorable and dreamy too, it fit the mood of the story so well!

At first I was worried this would just be a bully romance, which I don't really enjoy, but Takasago was actually a good boy - he felt bad for asking the heroine out as a dare, and decided to hang out with her. Then they started to get to know each other, and we see how they slowly get closer and fall in love (which was kinda fast, considering it was just one volume, but it was so pure and sweet I don't mind much!).

Suehiro is a very quiet, shy girl, who lives inside books, and I love her!?!?! so much?!?!?! She's super adorable and sweet and I just honestly want her to be happy (with Takasago... please...). It was lovely seeing how lonely people get to break out of their comfort zones and try new things, and it felt quite realistic considering they're teenagers (asking someone out on a dare? classic dumb teen move lol).

I'm excited to read more, as well as other works by Nikki Asada!
