Nice read. It’s a thriller but it isn’t heavy or overwhelming. It was enjoyable to read but somewhat predictable but I’ve read so many thrillers it’s hard to really surprise me. There was some conflicting parts that I found when reading which made me go in and out of the story but other wise it was good!

Thank you so much to Netgalley and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Puppy calls off her wedding to her fiancée and realizes she’s dodged a bullet after he admits he’s been seeing someone else 😒
So Pippa decides to go alone on the fabulous honeymoon to the Maldives.
When she arrives, she’s not alone on her ‘honeymoon’. There is z Ii Lu and Arne, who seem to be really in love, Tansy and Daniel, who are a rich, beautiful couple. Tansy is an influencer with thousands of social media followers and Daniel doesn’t appear to be that happy to be on his honeymoon 🤔
Pippa chucks it up to being the lonely single person there until she meets Jim, who informs her he is a Private Investigator and is investigating one of them. 🤨
There is a lot going on in this book, but the author keeps the reader engaged with twists and an amazing plot.

This book has such a clever and twisty plot, and the events in the Maldives are just the beginning of a complex and fascinating web of lies and deceit.

Nothing is as it seems in this book, and just as soon as you think you have the plot figured out, the author surprises you from the left. This book was a very well written read, and I can't wait to read some more by this talented author! Recommended.

6 on a vacation and one of them died
There were twists and secrets
There was something more to the death where each had a hand to play
overall, a fun read.

The Guilty Wife was my first Alison James novel, and it definitely won't be my last! I really enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down. All the characters were interesting to read about (and I'd love to read more books featuring Pippa and Jim), and I liked that the story was told from more than one point-of-view. I was really invested in finding out who the killer was and what their motive was, and I thought the ending was great. Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review The Guilty Wife. : )

I loved Perfect Girls by this author. It is my favorite of the 4 stories I’ve read. That being said, really, I’ve enjoyed all of them. I like the way this author writes and her pacing works for me.

This alternates between narrators and timelines but it’s done deftly and it builds some good depth and suspense. There was a nice diverse character base and organic dialogue. Some of the action may be predicted by those that read a lot of thrillers (and I do) but it as still fun and enjoyable. I would recommend this and look forward to the next by this author.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and Bookouture for a copy in exchange for a review.

I enjoyed this! It was the perfect quick, summer mystery. It also took place in a few settings which I did not anticipate and quite liked. I liked all the characters and "detectives" which made the book all the more engaging. I did not predict the ending - always something I'm pleased with! Hoping for more books from our sleuthing duo.

This book definitely grabbed my attention and held it – I read it in one sitting. I don’t know exactly how to classify it. The tag says it’s a psychological thriller, but I found it to be more mystery thriller – almost a whodunit and why. I liked how the author broke everything into sections. We got to see things from different characters’ points of view. The way all the information rolled out was completely natural and made sense. There was never anything that was jarring or seemed out of place. Even the switches in point of view were smooth. It was all well-crafted into an intricate spider web of lies and deceit – from many angles. The author also includes some very astute commentary on social media. Great book, perfect for your next read. For a detailed review, please visit Fireflies and Free Kicks. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for a digital copy of the book.

Having read this thriller, I am never going to look at Instagram photos the same way! A great story of couples honeymooning at the same locations and being thrown into complete turmoil by some incredibly risky actions.
