Thank you to NetGalley, Sophie Cousens and Random House for the ARC of Just Haven't Met You Yet.

I haven't read Sophie's previous title, This Time Next Year, but after reading this, I will most certainly be seeking it out. I LOVED this book. An ideal heartwarming festive film in the making, I will be amazed if this book doesn't get turned into a TV / film rom com in the not too distant future.

Laura is a 29 year old single writer and columnist and host of LoveLife, a programme all about Meet Cutes - those kablamo moments where fate steps in and brings two people together in the most romantic and fascinating of circumstances. When she sells her boss the story of her own families Meet Cutes, she's convinced that her trip to Jersey willl allow her to recreate all those moments where her parents met.

When she arrives in the Channel Islands however, a mix up at the airport leaves her with another person's case. When she opens it up, the entire contents scream her perfect man, He plays the piano, he has excellent taste in clothes, he loves Phil Collins (just like her) and he has even bought a gift for his Mum. She is determined that this is a sign- she HAS to meet this man. Maybe this is her Meet Cute opportunity and luck is on her side!

This book has some really great characters - one of whom you may literally find yourself falling in love with, and you become fully invested in the outcome for them all. Whilst in parts this is an emotional read, there are other parts that had be quite literally laughing and chuckling out loud at some of the situations Laura finds herself in. I could picture them so clearly in my mind that it was like I was experiencing it myself, The sign of a truly great writer,

This book is a great bit of escapism, which lets face it, we could ALL do with at the moment and I cannot recommend it enough. Is it a bit predictable - of course, but is it the dream rom com? Absolutely!

5 stars from me, LOVED it.

Do you like a good room/com? Something that just feels good and you know there will be a happy ending, makes a change from everything going on in the outside world. This has that lighthearted feel, no crime to solve, or suspense just good old fashioned romance. As soon as I saw the title of this one I had the song sung but a certain crooner playing in my head, In fact every time I see the title it automatically plays but on to the book.

Laura Le Quesne is twenty nine years old, she is a journalist and host of Love Life which is a showcase of cute meet love stories which make the audience sigh and swoon, but Laura’s love life is in crisis. Her parents are no longer around, her father had died when she was young, but she used to be told stories about her father by her mother and she wants the same kind of epic love story they had. I mean don’t we all dream of that? So when the opportunity through work opens up to go to the Channel Islands, Jersey, as a feature for Love Life, to retrace the sights of their love story, Laura is not quite prepared for the surprises this trip has in store for her, she also has not just one but two potential loves.

This is a story with some great characters, Laura as she goes on her own journey of self discovery, as well as the two potential loves, with a couple of brilliant nicknames she gives them. Both are so distinctly different. As well as the setting. The cab driver and tour guide Ted, with his dry humour and helpfulness. There are some emotional parts when there is some unexpected things she finds out about her parents and Laura re evaluate’s her life and what she is looking for. This is a quick read I finished it in one sitting but it’s also a delightful read.

Will Laura find her perfect mr Right?

Escapism at its best, a feel good read that deals with grief, second chances, regrets and happiness. Something we all want. If that’s what you are looking for then grab a copy of this you won’t regret it.

What an awesome story this book was.
I loved the characters, the Jersey UK locale and the title. (Besides the title makes me think of a favorite song by Michael Buble`)
This was a most enjoyable read, that I thought I knew the ending and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't what I though but better.
Huge bonus points for the character that loves Patchouli!
My second read from this Author and definitely won't be my last.

Welcome to the love story of Laura... the love of family, the love of friends, the love of love, and the love of life! This is a quick read about how love and the ability to connect, network, and find what makes you happy. Readers are taken on a journey of self-discovery and Laura finding her inner tiger woman. Her short time on an assignment for work leads her on a path that she never could have imagined for herself. Once again, Cousens writes a book to grab the readers and take them on a journey of love, laughter, emotions, and romance!

I had been a major reading slump before I started Just Haven’t Met You Yet, I’d picked up so many books and just couldn’t get into them so I was very apprehensive when starting this, I really didn’t need to worry because I was fully swept up from page one and totally devoured this wonderful book. It’s the most perfect book to cure a book hangover.

Our main protagonist Laura is a romantic, she believes in fate and serendipity. Her parents had the most romantic love story and she works for a an online magazine called Love Life and writes for the popular column How Did You Meet, interviewing the most romantic loved up couples who have met under strange and crazy circumstances. She’s so wrapped up in believing fate will bring her the man of her dreams that when she is sent on a work trip and picks up the wrong suitcase, she seriously believes that fate has intervened and the owner of the suitcase is the one.

I really liked Laura, she’s such a great character even if her ideas about love are a bit, well, too much. She’s been brought up that way though so you can sort of understand her thinking and beliefs in love. She has so much love to give and desperately wants to be loved in return and it just makes her such an adorable character.

This book had me actually snorting with laughter, some of the situations Laura managed to get herself into had me in stitches and also cringing badly, I was actually biting my knuckles at one point.

The setting is perfect and I absolutely loved the island community. I’ve never been to Jersey but I really want to go now.

This book is filled with wonderful characters and I just loved getting to know them all. I adored the authors way of writing and how as a reader I felt like I was there with them and desperately wanted them to be happy, especially Laura.

Just Haven’t Met You Yet is such a feel good book, it made me smile and feel happy but underneath there’s a lesson to be learnt. It gave me lots to think about, in a good way I must add.

I’m so happy to have read this wonderful story and I’ll definitely be telling others how blooming good it is.

While on a work assignment to Jersey, romance journalist Laura tries to find out more about her parents' love story nearly 30 years ago. But everything is thrown off when Laura talks to her father's side of the family and realises it wasn't all that rosy. It doesn't help that she grabbed the wrong suitcase at the airport and has come across the items she thinks her perfect man would have, like her father's favourite book, the cosiest sweater and sheet music for her favourite song. From that moment on, Laura is on a mission to find out how her parents really got together and what happened afterwards, while also trying to meet the man whose suitcase she has, and exchange it for her own, while also having a meet-cute.

I loved every second of reading this book. I was hooked from the start. The characters are so well written, incredibly well-described and realistic and it made me want to be friends with some of them, such as Dee especially. It's such a fun premise, and the descriptions of Jersey truly made me want to get on the next flight over. This is definitely a feel-good novel because it makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside, despite the fact that the themes covered are actually quite deep and emotional. I think this book is really important because it helps put the right perspective in your mind as you're reading it, like how the key thing in life is to do what makes you happy and to surround yourself with people who make you feel like the truest version of you.

Loved it!! I was excited to read this because I absolutely LOVED "This Time Next Year." It definitely didn't disappoint. Loved the characters, story and writing style- so pretty much everything about the book. I need to visit Jersey, all the descriptions make it sound like a beautiful island. I knew who who the suitcase was going to belong to after the infamous tampon episode at the airport. I loved Laura's adventures while trying to recreate her mom's pictures and find out the identity of the suitcase guy. Laura went to Jersey to retrace the love story between her parents, but ended up discovering a completely different story than she expected. I wouldn't call aunt Monica mad, she just loves hedgehogs. How can you blame her? They are so cute!! Plus she's easy to buy gifts for, she will love anything that has a hedgehog on it. Monica welcomed Laura right into the family and seemed genuinely happy to see her. Ted was the perfect cab driver to pick Laura up from the airport. The book kept me smiling and laughing. Between what Laura witnessed and heard from the coat alcove (which was also traumatizing), being attacked by cows during a photo and pronouncing her last name wrong her whole life are just a few of the smile inducing moments.

Definitely recommend the book. It was a fun story about friendship, family, love and so much more. Look forward to reading more books by Sophie Cousens, since she is one of my new favorite authors and her books are simply magical.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Random House UK, Cornerstone through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I absolutely adored this story. It is full of brilliant realistic characters Laura is awesome she is a hopeless romantic who is looking for ideal man and happy ending. When she picks up the wrong suitcase and we follow her on a journey to track the owner of the case down. Believing this is a sign!

Just Haven’t Meet You Yet is the perfect romantic comedy and would make a wonderful film. There are plenty of LOL moments as well as soon really heart warming and lifting scenes. I loved Laura from the start I must admit I am in awe with her and wanted Laura to find her happy ever after so much, that I couldn’t put this down.

She learns some lessons along the way on her trip to Jersey. The author has described it beautifully and I would love to go there after reading this.

This is a magical refreshing read, full of holiday fun Which I highly recommend giving it all the stars.

Twenty nine year olds presenter Laura has been brought up with romantic stories of how her parents and great grandparents met. Working for Love Life she interviews couples about their romantic first meets setting impossibly high standards for herself. Looking to make a show about her parents romantic meeting, she travels to Jersey to walk in their footsteps.
in the words of the author, “ who would want to read a book about flying tampons, Phil Collins and coat alcoves….and memory loss?”. Well I did and I throughly enjoyed it especially the journey around Jersey.
I will be looking for more books by this author.

I really enjoyed this book. It was fun to read and a great story. Laura loves uncovering couples' love stories and how they met for the magazine she works for but is desperately searching for her own happy ever after. She believes her parents had the best love story ever and heads to Jersey to tell the story of how they met, involving two pieces of the same coin.
When she picks up the wrong suitcase at the airport, she thinks this could be the answer to her dream man as it contains everything she would want in a partner from book choice to type of sweater! She befriends the taxi driver who collects her from the airport and he becomes her chaperone in her adventure!

A lovely well thought out book that has everything!

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

A rom-com delight 🥰 with a main character who loves Phil Collins as much as me. Can you believe it?!!!😂😎

If you love a feel good romance, then I highly recommend I JUST HAVENT MET YOU YET.
I loved THIS TIME NEXT YEAR by Sophie Cousens.

Not going to lie…I may have fallen in love with a character in this book 😍EVERY TIME EM!😂

I love me some slow burn romance. YOU CANT HURRY LOVE as big Phil says 😂 *sorry not sorry!

Yes I may have fallen in love with a character called Ted 🥰😍 First impressions were not great, with his dry sense of humour and grumpy demeanour, but things change 😏Oh Ted you charmer. 😉

The story had emotion and depth with a great balance of lol moments. I just loved the Jersey setting which is definitely on my travel bucket list! ✈️ The characters were heartwarming and memorable. I particularly took a shine to Gerry, an elderly man with Parkinson's Disease whose attitude to life was so refreshing and life affirming! I have to say, one of my FAVOURITE things about this book was all the Phill Collins love 😂😂 I am a HUGE fan so the fact that Laura was too was pretty brilliant. 😎

Overall, a romantic, light, funny and witty read with a lovely setting, cracking characters and all the feel good vibes. AGAINST ALL ODDS…Sophie does it again! *see what I did there 😜

Laura is a journalist who is currently filming a show depicting how people met their true love. Sadly for Laura this is not the case for her and she is sure that fate will find The One for her, just as her mum and dad had done, despite him dying when Laura was very young.

Laura’s job takes her to Jersey to replicate the story of her parents and follow in their footsteps. What she finds there is miles away from what she expected and the journey becomes a very emotional one for her.

Coming off the plane Laura collects her case and sets off for her hotel. She meets a cab driver who seems rude and she can’t wait to unwind in her room. After a restorative g&t she opens her case to find it belongs to someone else, however he seems to have her favourite book in his case along with some Phil Collins music, her all time favourite musician. Is this how she will get to meet the man she is fated to be with?

This is a romantic comedy and so much more. The author tells Laura’s family history with compassion and the cast of supporting characters are all well rounded and make this a hugely enjoyable read. From the outset nearly I was rooting for the ending that became Laura’s story and the author wrote so well about the character of Gerry, who sufferers from Parkinson’s, that I felt hugely moved as well.

Definitely a 5 star read for me and one I will be recommending. Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was one of those surprises. A gentle story with no giant doses of angst or heartbreak but it still packed an emotional punch. It felt like a conversation with a close friend. It’s heartfelt and packed with sweetly poignant moments I loved. I really liked Laura and although I would have loved some chapters from the male POV I was still hooked. I read this book in one sitting and definitely recommend.

The man of your dreams might tick all the boxes but is he the right one for you?

Laura is a journalist for Love Life and interviews couples on how they met, being very romantic she sets off to Jersey to relive her parents story of how they met.
At the airport Laura picks up the wrong suitcase, the contents reveal it`s a man with everything she likes in a man and wonders if this is the man of her dreams, or can it be the taxi driver that picked her up from the airport and showed her round the island and took her to all the places her parents where photographed as the bond between them grew every day.
Laura meets old family members and finds out why she knew nothing about them and the secrets they hold.

A light hearted romance with great characters

This was a wonderful book to read, it was sweet and easy and I just lost myself in it. The pages turned very quickly and I was sad to get to the end. I enjoyed her other book and was thrilled to be approved for this one. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

Laura works for a lifestyle magazine interviewing couples about their "meet cute" she used to love hearing the stories about how they met but she's never had her own. Her parents had the most perfect love story. So when Laura picks up the wrong case on a work trip to Jersey to document her parents love story could this be the start of hers.

This was a great story the characters were likeable and the story flowed well with lots of humour sprinkled throughout.

A decent read.

Thank you to Netgalley and Random House for the ARC

Writing about love when you don't have your own happy ever after is hard for Laura. When she is sent to Jersey by her boss, she seizes the moment. She sets out on a journey of discovery. Will she like what she finds and find her happy ever after? A thoroughly likeable character.

This is sweet read you can immerse yourself in and enjoy. Cute story filled with meet cutes. ---- is single but her job to interview and tell couple’s meet cute stories. Wanting some fresh ideas and perhaps some fresh air she goes on a trip to Jersey to recreate moments from here parent’s love story. She manages to have a meet cute of her own but is disenchanted by her parent’s story in the end.
This book is a light read but feels heavier than --- other book. There’s family drama, loss, and some complicated dynamics. There’s enough levity and romance to counteract it though so it never feels like a sad read
The characters in this book are very genuine good people so I was rooting for and charmed by every single one of them. The setting was beautiful to read about. Jersey was practically a character; The author’s affinity was apparent and made me want to back my bags and book a flight.
