I really enjoyed the style of Sophie’s writing in her first book so was looking forward to giving this a read. The scenery setting on Jersey was gorgeous and really well done. However, the romance storyline felt quite weak and the whole “searching for the perfect meet-cute” was just a bit much for me. I think this will be popular with a lot of romance readers but for me it didn’t quite hit the mark.

This was a really charming, easy to read story which made me smile. With descriptive characters and narrative, it flowed well.
This was the first book I have read by this author, but will not be the last.

An absolute delight, this was a really well written romantic comedy. There was the perfect balance of elements, which is really difficult in my opinion. It was sweet and quirky without being cloying and annoying.
A definite recommendation.

When Laura goes to Jersey to find out more about the love story of her parents she is fighting for her job. She must write this story up to capture the imaginations of her loyal readers and to express her job.
However, her own love story is just beginning but how will that play out?
As she finds out more about her family, she also realises what is important about life.
A well written story with believable characters and a fascinating storyline.

Just Haven’t Met You Yet follows Laura as she tries to live out her own meet cute. As a journalist, she follows her parents love story back to the island of Jersey. She ends up grabbing the wrong luggage but decides by the contents of the luggage that it belongs to her soulmate. While trying to find the owner of the luggage and find out more about her parents’ love story, she learns more about herself and her history. While this story was very predictable, I still enjoyed it and learning more about the island of Jersey. I would definitely recommend and continue to read all Sophie Cousens novels.

I am a huge fan of this author and squealed a lot when the gorgeous proof of this one landed. It is absolutely beautiful both inside and out.

I have to say that this is better than the previous book. This is an enjoyable, light and fun read.

Cousens has filled this with good humour; moments to make you laugh out loud and a dash of sadness.

Laura is an amazing character who is relatable and likeable. I have absolutely loved her. She has made this a great read for me.

This is a book with a gorgeous setting as well as the fantastic characters. I love how this author writes, I am always completely pulled in and unable to put this one down.

This has been engaging and addictive. I have loved this book from beginning to end. It has been a wonderful read, deserving of all the stars and one I highly recommend.

This is my second Sophie Cousens read and my second 5 star review. I really enjoy her writing style. I also listened to the audiobook version and again, the narrator did a fab job. Great characters, both the leads and secondary and a lovely, gentle, warm hug of a story. Perfect book to curl up with as the winter nights draw in.

This was a beautiful story full of love and humour, with some poignant and serious themes also running through the story.

I especially liked a quote said by a character that went along the lines of life not being about The End of a book but rather the individual chapters.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my review.

What a cute book this was! I haven't read such a cheer-up romantic comedy in so long. I have read Cousens' previous book, This Time Next Year, and I enjoyed it, but I have to say that this was the book I preferred overall between the two of them.

Basically the story begins when Laura goes to Jersey to retrieve the steps of her parents' love story, and there, at the airport, she swaps her suitcase with another man at the airport - and she firmly believes by the contents of that suitcase that he's the perfect man for her.
While I truly believe with a passion that you should not snoop around in another person suitcase - please don't do that if it ever happens to you lol - I also suspended my disbelief for the sake of the romantic story.
Laura then decides to find the owner of the suitcase to give that back to him, and she will be helped by Ted, a grumpy cab driver that will show her the island and help her in the quest.

I truly enjoyed the humor in this book, I think Cousens has a funny way to tell a story, and I liked the humor in this one a lot. All of the Phil Collins reference were also top notch - for a person whose father also tried to give her a musical education based on The Genesis in my case, it was a nice touch to the story.
I think the twists and turns are quite predictable and there wasn't s single thing that I didn't grasp from the 20-30% mark of the book, but that was good, I didn't mind that. I think it was a novel about hope, family, friendship and most of all finding love when and where you least expect it, it conveyed very well the fact that most of the expectations we think we have all our lives will just be proven wrong when we really fall in love.
And last but not least, there's a Taylor Swift reference in this song, so yeah, that's always a plus for me lol.

In conclusion I think that if you like fluff romantic books set in cozy small towns (in this case in a wonderful island), with a great sense of humor, this could be the one for you.

This is such a cute romantic story! The book is very well-written, the pacing is great, the characters are very attaching (with flaws and all) and the Jersey setting was the cherry on top for me! Sophie Cousens describes Jersey so well that I fell in love with the island all over again <3
I absolutely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a heart-warming romantic story with some family secrets.

, Just Haven’t Met You Yet is not just the lighthearted romantic book I expected from the cover. It’s got fab subplots containing family secrets and the lovely little island of jersey. I adore This time next year, the authors other book, and have to say this one didn’t quite match its standards. That being said, I still enjoyed it. We follow Laura and her meet cute scenario spiral into so much more which I really thought was well done, and like her prior book, had descriptions and plot that could easily be on the big screen

Laura writes a column about love and is going to revisit where her parents met and fell in love. When she arrives in Jersey, she picks up the wrong suitcase, and when she opens it she sees he likes the same things she does. She starts thinking this is her soul mate and fate has brought them together. She isn't able to get a hold of him for a while, so she is following the paths her parents took while she waits.
She discovers many things while she waits, some good, some not, and some that will affect the life she thought she had. Laura and the cab driver, Ted, connect, and enjoy their time together. But she is waiting for what she believes is her soul mate,
The book, as I read it, seemed to have a lot of mix-ups, and then we start to see the pieces land where they do, and the book continues with a different perspective. Sometimes you don't see what is in front of you, until things happen to change your perspective, and Laura has to make some decisions about her life, what she has discovered, and what she really wants for herself.
I received an ARC from Arrow through NetGalley.

In Just Haven’t Met You Yet, Laura spends her working life interviewing couples about their larger-than-life love stories. This, together with what she has been told about her parents’ relationship, has given her a rose-tinted view of romance that none of her previous relationships has ever lived up to.
On a work trip to Jersey to revisit places that were special to her parents, and write an article about it, she ends up with someone else’s suitcase. On opening it, to try to find out who it belongs to, the contents lead her to believe the owner would be her Mr Right if only she could track him down.
Laura reminded me of Bridget Jones in that some of the humour was of the cringeworthy variety and often at her expense. Told solely from Laura’s perspective, Just Haven’t Met You Yet is not just the lightweight romantic tale that is promised on the cover, but also a heartbreaking story about family secrets. The supporting cast of memorable, quirky characters are well drawn and gradually help her to discover what she really wants to do with her life.
Jersey is a wonderful setting and beautifully described by the author who clearly has great affection for the island. There is a cinematic quality to the story and I could see it being made into a movie. The action takes place over just a few days so the pace is fairly brisk. I did not always find Laura particularly likeable, and the whole suitcase mix-up dragged on a little too long, but overall I enjoyed reading Just Haven’t Met You Yet and look forward to whatever Sophie Cousens writes next.
Thanks to Arrow and NetGalley for a digital copy to review.

A favourite author on my bookshelf. Following in the footsteps of her departed parents romance Laura travels to Jersey for her job as a journalist. Cases are mixed up at the airport and she sees it as a sign that the owner of the case is her soul mate. BUT she meets Ted the taxi driver as well. Work responsibilities, meeting family, discovering family truths and love. What a hectic but wonderful and confusing time Laura has.
Sit down, relax and enjoy Laura's escapes. I definitely did.

This rom-com was a complete hit with me! I enjoyed the playful banter mixed with the sweetness and romance that I come to these types of reads for.

The characters had a dynamic that really stuck with me and flowed well with the story. At times, I was even completely surprised by the story as a whole! If I ever want a fun chick-lit book, I will be sure to check out this author in the future!

I loved this book. Laura was a great character and remined me of so many of my friends. This is a fun book and is perfect if you are lucky enough to be on the beach. If not pour yourself a glass of wine, open a box of chocolates and enter the fun and exciting world of Laura.
