In reading this book Anne and Rachel wrote together of their real life situations that many of us can relate to. Each chapter is a gem of family teachings which focuses on the topic of legacy of Jesus. I have never read such a marvelous and comprehensive heart filled book of the life of the Graham’s. A prime example of how the baton is passed down to others.

This is a great book about the importance of passing on your faith to the next generation. The authors share personal atories from their family of how faith has influenced they way they live. A great book for parents, especially moms, as it is written from a maternal perspective.

I would love to see more included about overcoming personal failures and how to continue walking in faith despite apparent defeat.

Overall this is an encouraging read that motivates parents to develop their faith so that they can pass it on.

As a mother of two young children, I found Jesus Followers to be a healthy dose of inspiration! Life can get so busy and it is easy to let certain aspects of our Christian walk get put on the back burner. This book provides great examples and encouragement on how to move them back to front and center...where they belong!

From tears to goosebumps to boldness, this book invoked a range of emotions...all bringing me closer to God and more determined to raise my children right. As the courageous Jesus Followers that they were meant to be.

I was blessed to have the opportunity to read an advance copy of Jesus Followers. This book showcases down to earth examples of how to walk with Jesus and pass love for Him to the next generation. The book is so personal and inspiring. I loved the stories interspersed throughout the book. This is a fun and very informative read. A verse and summary is included at the end of each chapter to save the important points for further study. I truly recommend this book!

The stories in this book are eye opening and sometimes make you wonder if they knew your family. There is knowledge here you need to soak up, as a sponge. This you can use to further your family and your Christian walk.. I see something in it for all to read and grow in your walk and belief with Jesus!

To be honest, I was not expecting much from this book. The thought of reading reminiscences about people I was not personally acquainted with did not attract me. This book totally surprised me. In the first place, the stories the author shared left me feeling personally acquainted with her loved ones, which felt like a privilege. Secondly, those acquaintances were gentle teachers, a soft whispering voice that opened my eyes to new ways to practically live out my faith, encouraging me that to do so was so important.

The way the book was laid out made it an easy read. The pictures at the end of each chapter really cemented the stories that were shared. The synopsis page which included a Bible verse and summary note gave a person a reason to stop and ponder what was read before moving on too quickly.

Getting to know Ruth Bell Graham through the eyes of her granddaughter was a treat. I knew little of this great Christian woman before reading this book. The author seemed careful to present her as human as well as humble, strong and faithful - a true Jesus follower. After putting down the book the reminiscences about her stayed with me, and I hope will continue to, as I seek to be a true Jesus follower as well.

If it is not already clear, I would highly recommend this book and am thankful for the chance to have read it.

I was honored to be able to preview this book. I loved it! I laughed and I cried all the while being encouraged to be bold in my faith. Using the analogy of a 4x4 relay race and Genesis 5, Anne Graham Lotz and her daughter Rachel-Ruth Wright teach us how to pass our faith (ie. baton) to the next generation.
The book is divided into four sections with Anne introducing each one. Rachel-Ruth then fills each section with stories of her parents, grandparents, and in-laws and the impact they had on her life. Her style is personal and genuine, warm and tender. It was wonderful to hear the Graham and Lotz family stories. I laughed out loud over Murdock the cockatiel! (You'll have to read it for yourself!) There are family photos, action tips, and scriptures for each chapter. We are encouraged to be intentional in all we do with an eternal view in mind.
I highly recommend this book for parents, grandparents, or anyone who wants to make an eternal difference in future generations.

With the Olympics and Paralympics held this summer, it is so fitting for this book to be released this year! I was granted the opportunity to read this and it is a terrific, awesome read. Whether you have children, are around children anywhere, or if you are journeying through life with someone who talks about their children - this is a great book! The theme, style and way it is written are perfect. God's hand was truly in and on this project. Passing the baton of faith and planting the seed of truth is truly a worthwhile goal!

This labor of love is so well woven together through stories of God's love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness. As a mom, I can look back and see myself as a young girl in some of the stories. In others, I can clearly see my children and husband as we seek to bring the Gospel to others and live it out with our family. Biblical truth is found in every chapter and story! All point to God and our part in the ultimate story we can't see the end of just yet.

These stories show the ripple effects over time, compounded with the consistent out pouring of love to others - despite circumstances. Each chapter ends with a question, advice, and a verse to help readers create a legacy of faith and passing the faith on to the next generation or introducing it to the current one to be passed down.

The book Jesus Followers answered a lot of questions I had about what it looks like to walk with Jesus through hard times and how to also serve and bring Him glory through those hard times. As Christians, we are called to pass our faith on to our children and anyone else God places in our lives. I loved that it was called passing the baton because in a relay race you must pass the baton to the next runner and they must receive it in order to keep running the race. Anne Graham Lotz and her daughter Rachel-Ruth Lotz Wright encouraged me greatly through their beautifully written stories of uncompromising faith and how they each received the baton of faith as they witnessed their grandparents and parents living lives fully surrendered to Jesus. There are many examples in the book of how to share your faith in Jesus with your family, friends and anyone. Many of the stories brought me to tears, but more than that, I was reminded over and over again of who God is and that I can trust Him with it all! I was also reminded that God’s word does not return empty and encouraged by Joel 2:25, “Then I will make up to you for the years that the swarming locust has eaten…” Even if you have grown children or prodigal children who are not following Jesus, it is never too late to start your race and pass the baton! There’s always hope in Him! We are all in different spiritual places as we follow Jesus, but wherever you are in your race, the book Jesus Followers encourages us all to start where we are, never give up, pass the baton and keep running toward the finish line, towards the prize, Jesus Christ!

Excellent!
This collaboration between Anne Graham Lotz and Rachel-Ruth Lotz Wright is beautifully written.
Anne writes the section openings; teaching/exploring Genesis 5. Lots to ponder here…
Rachel-Ruth follows with several chapters sharing family and life experiences witnessing to the legacy of sharing the faith and ‘passing the baton’. Reading these heartfelt family stories I cried, I laughed, I was encouraged.
This book also contains many sweet family photos.
Each chapter ends with a question or thought to consider, a ‘Be a Jesus Follower’ Action Step, and Scripture verse.
Jesus Followers with children in the home will benefit greatly from this book, to pass the baton of faith.
Jesus Followers with grown children, grandchildren, unsaved family members, co-workers, etc. will equally benefit from this book.
That is what makes this book special. Everyday we have opportunities to share Jesus. This book is inspiring and encouraging.
I will read this book more than once and then pass it on … or better… buy them their own copy. 🙂

Anne and Rachel-Ruth are so inspiring in their challenge to graciously, lovingly and intentionally pass on faith in Jesus to the next generation. Every chapter motivates, encourages and inspires a life of Godly living based practical application that exalts God and His kingdom. The personalization through family memories are real life examples of how a family has passed on faith to the next generation. This book is highly recommended for anyone who loves Jesus and wants to pass Him on to others.

Jesus Followers is written in a format that demonstrates its message. From the appealing cover of girls following each other on the path, to the format of mother writing each section’s introductory teaching followed by daughter telling the stories, we see a model of the baton being passed.
The book is vulnerable and authentic down to the bibliography. They claim to love the Bible. This is authenticated by the many references made to scriptures. While at times their family sounds to good to be true, these offerings are followed by the revelation of their very human struggles.
A note of caution, if you’re not looking for a challenge this book may not be for you. It’s not hard to read but following in their path will be. They have not backed off from the true cost of discipleship.

In the introduction, I like how Ruth leads with the analogy of the 4 x 400 race and how each team mate passes the baton, to explain the generational passing of the baton. That “ you and I are in a race called life. The Baton is Truth that leads to faith in Jesus.” This analogy helps me to see and understand the passing of the baton in the race and in life to my children. This book has made me examine my passing of the baton. Am I living an example that all will see the light of Jesus in me? I am not that far in the book but there are so many things to thing about and for inner reflection and prayer. Below I have listed some other things that struck a cord.

I like how Anne and Ruth so easily have conversations with people about knowing Jesus. I find this difficult to have a conversation with strangers about knowing Jesus.

Page 40 talks about the “Race of Life beginning in the Garden of Eden with our first parents being Adam and Eve, which is something I have never thought of before.

On page 45, they share how “ a witness that is lived may be even more powerful than one that is spoken” I saw this in my grandmother and aunt as they both lived out their faith and were true mentors for me. I learned the 23rd Psalm from my grandmother because she prayed it every night before bed and I prayed it with her.

What an informative guide to help us in leaving a godly legacy to our children and grandchildren! The real life stories of the Graham family give us helpful examples to use. The individual chapters can be a continuing resource to all family situations. Thank you Anne and Rachel-Ruth for being obedient to God and being so transparent and honest. May God bless all our families as we seek to share Jesus and God’s word.

This is a very engaging book. Rachel-Ruth's down to earth style combined with her real-life stories regarding her relationship with Jesus Christ make this a book that will appeal to women of all ages. She also gives the reader an inside look at her family. What I like best about this book, however, is the emphasis that Rachel-Ruth puts on her family's urgency to share the gospel both with their family members and with others.

This book challenged and encouraged me in my walk with Jesus, my role as a mom and grandmother. I loved reading the testimonies as told by Anne and Rachel-Ruth from their perspective of living in the most godly family of modern day. I want to love God’s Word, have a robust prayer life and to walk as Jesus would because of the way God worked in the Graham/Lotz family. I want those things to be true in my life! I would recommend this book to anyone that needs to see how living a godly life looks in the day to day.

Jesus Followers by Anne Graham Lott’s and her daughter Rachel-Ruth Lotts-Wright chronicles a faith-filled legacy. Each chapter compels the reader by the interesting legacy the authors hold to an legendary Evangelical; named Billy Graham. Similarly,, Anne and Rachel-Ruth demonstrate their evangelical gift through the story telling; easily making the reader a part of their story by connecting the reader and asking real thought provoking reflective questions regarding a personal relationship to a Generational God. Each chapter ends is filled with Bible footnote;, plus ends with a scripture reference and picture that relates to the narrative, and a reflective prompt. These women authors are remnants of faith, grace and witness in the book called Jesus Followers.
