From the blurb: Bewitched meets Practical Magic in this sparkling and quirky rom-com with an enchanted twist. When romance problems cause their powers to go berserk, a trio of witches whose family was banned from practicing magic risk getting in serious trouble with the Grand Council. Can they get their magic—and their love lives—in order before it’s too late?

This was ridiculous but also kinda fun. I listened to the audiobook, and it was well done.

Aw I wish I liked this book more, but I couldn't, in good conscience, give this book 3 stars compared to recent reads, which might be a bit unfair.

The book was generally enjoyable. It's a light read where we follow 3 cousins with witchy powers as their lives unravel. This is thanks to another cousin who said she'd magically seduce one of their partners.

Some of the plot points were fun, including magical cupcakes, hidden lairs, humans being turned into pets, etc. It was mostly the magical aspects that were good to me, the relationships felt superficial, underwritten and too convenient. Everyone seems to have fallen in love at first sight - which is just not believable.

It's a book I'd recommend only to those who enjoy light romances without too much depth.

I loved the wit and quirkiness of this book! I thoroughly enjoyed the supernatural themes! Very thankful to have been given the access to read this before it was published :)

When three cousins receive a very sinister letter, all hell breaks loose. Their love lives are ruined. Gwen's adopted sister, Tannith, writes that one of their lovers will leave them for Tannith by the end of the week. Trudy keeps enchanting her cupcakes out of stress while Gwen is trying to keep it together. Milo is spying on his boyfriend.

Did I mention they are witches? Their family was banned from using magic for 100 years after their great-great-grandfather caused some mischief. It appears that their cousin is not following the edict and is using her powers to seduce one of their lovers. Everything starts to fall apart while they try to figure out what their cousin is up to. Yet maybe it's time the family took back control and figured out how to harness their powers.

Even though I enjoy witchy-related books, this isn't one of my favorites. I didn't like how the story dragged on a little bit longer than I would have liked. The characters seem to take forever to figure out simple things that most people who don't practice witchcraft already know. The book makes it very clear they're not allowed to practice any kind of magic or have any knowledge of magic. However, they should at least know the basics from watching TV. Secondly, they are so afraid of being caught practicing or doing anything magically related that they become slightly annoying. Only when they start learning slowly and I mean gradually will they begin to embrace their magical abilities.

Also, it was supposedly a romance novel, but I didn't see much romance in the book. The characters do have relationships they are trying to save or escape from. However, these relationships are secondary throughout the book. It's almost as if you forget that they're in relationships, dating, etc. It felt a little unfair.

You must be wondering, do you like anything about the book? Yes, I do! When the conversation between Gwen and Jeremy got interesting, I liked it. Even though you rarely see them together and their chemistry seems to pop out of nowhere, but when it does, it's great. Aunt Esme is my favorite character! It's a total crone when it comes to her magic and how she wields it.

I enjoyed how Trudy kept spelling out her cupcakes. It got to the point where I was like, I want some strawberry bliss! As much as I love Trudy's cupcakes, I love how she manifests her magic in other aspects as well... hint hint... don't want to spoil it.

I rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. Although the pace of the book was slower than I would have liked, I enjoyed it nonetheless. However, I wouldn't rave about it. Overall, I don't regret reading it. The second book has the potential to be better and faster. My only wish is that the characters would be a little more confident with their magic and not cower in the face of it. By the end of the book, you can see that with each character in a little bit. However, they are still very much at the beginning of their transformation.

This is a light-hearted book about cousins trying to figure out their family drama. You might enjoy this book if you enjoy a little light-hearted drama with a touch of Whimsy.

A Letter To Three Witches sounded good from a witchy book aspect, but adult romance is just not my cup of tea so I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I thought I would.

I enjoyed this book, its funny and quick to read however its fairly middle of the road. . Nothing was bad it just did not get me super involved. What did I like: It had some interesting twists and turns that I didn't see coming and the antics of the characters were quite funny. On the downside, I just was not as invested in any of the characters, and a lot where very cartoonish. If you have access to it its a fun read if you like a little bit of witchcraft, but i would not put it to the top of my TBR pile

I received an ARC from Netgalley. This was a fun read involving 3 witches who are not allowed to practice but do so anyway and get into lots of silly trouble. Loved the book! Cozy fantasy.

overall, a fun enough little romcom.

not the most memorable, but it did make me smile. I liked the overall lightheartedness of the book- a nice change from books that try to do too much when all I want is to forget everything for a few hours and laugh.

this did give off very much millennial vibes.. and not in the good way. it was painfully awkward at times.

I did enjoy reading this but I'm not sure I'd necessarily go our of my way to recommend it.

A fun, light-hearted romp that will keep you entertained and feel some escapism. Perfect for lovers of quirky characters, family dynamics, and magic in the modern world.

This was a fun book to read. With mystery, side plots, fun, and a long line of witches, I had loads of fun reading it. It's not a high fantasy book, so you don't have to worry about complex world-building, intricate storylines, etc. The story is basically a journey on which three cousins are embarked, to find whose significant other their adopted cousin is actually targeting. Their cousin left no other clue except one letter to the three of them, hence the title. If you're looking for an adorable, rom-com with cozy mystery and family drama to please your heart, definitely this book is for you.

Alliance, that’s the word that comes to mind. Here we have a family of witches , who have come to accept that they must leave their witchcraft under wraps. A cousin or acquaintance has promised to run away with a loved one. As each comes to grips with the threat of loss we find each has a unique reason for worry. A fun read.

A Letter to Three Witches by Elizabeth Bass is a fun read. The author takes the reader on quite an adventure, with fun twists and turns. You never know what to expect!

In the beginning, I thought the story moved a little slowly for me. I almost wondered if there had been a previous book because I felt like I was missing something. Once I got into the meat of the story, I found it to fun, kooky, and definitely funny! I think the cupcakes were my favorite part!

What can I say? I'm a new Fan of Elizabeth Bass. This story me laughing out loud, shaking my head, and gasping for breath, all the while thoroughly enjoying the ride.
A family of witches, not supposed to use their magic, has a series of "accidents" involving some hilarious consequences. All the while keeping an eye out for The watchers who might curse them for not following the counsels running from a hundred years ago. A must-read.

150 years ago, a magical mishap resulted in an entire family being banned from practising magic.

In present time we meet Gwen, Trudy and Milo; three cousins who were directly affected by this banned magic. One day, they receive a letter from Greens adopted sister Tannith which promises to ruin someone’s life. But whose?

Miscommunication and family dramas ensue. There’s cats, rabbits, roads and spells and a quick paced story that I kept wanting to read.

A Letter To Three Witches is a fun, light hearted and very quick read. After reading a lot of 700+ page fantasies this was just what I needed to pick up to top up my reading serotonin levels. Honestly, anything about witches automatically grabs my fancy and I wasn’t disappointed.

Thank you to Net Galley and Kensington books for providing me with this e-arc in exchange for my honest review.

Books featuring witches are not often on my my reading table, but a reading challenge prompt made A Letter to Three Witches a timely selection for me. I must say that initially I was skeptical, but Gwen, Trudy and Milo endeared themselves to me. Additionally, it was a fast read, sometimes almost slapstick, and easy to imagine as a made for TV movie.
The plot was engaging enough to keep my interest. The characters grew on me, and I'd love to see what happens next for each of them. I will add that their conversations sometimes felt repetitive, more like page fillers. But I'm a fan of show-not-tell writing.
Thank you to NetGalley, Kensington books and the author for this ARC of A Letter to Three Witches.

A light-hearted read, with witches and family warmth. a nice and clean transition piece if you are looking to move away from YA and in to NA but dont want the shifter books that are going around. nice pacing but not without issues and the plot seem a little forced in areas but over all it a okay read and nice to see a book that isnt a love story about fae

A Letter to Three Witches
by Elizabeth Bass
4 stars

This is a lighthearted and fun read, years after a spell went wrong generations are now forbidden to practice witchcraft.
After an accidental transformation and a few other mishaps, the cousins must come together to write their wrongs.
The book is told from Gwen's POV and Griz a cat that belongs to Cousin Tannith. It's an interesting take on love, family relationships, finding your way in life, and who you find yourself ending up with. There is a lot of zany spells and fun random stuff that happens in this book. It's not what I expected when I read this, but I love how it did end.
Thank you, Net Galley and Kensington Books for the ARC for an honest review.

DNF at 17%. I’m not so lucky lately with books…I stopped caring at all after the first couple of chapters. Boring plot, boring characters and that says it all about this book. Some reviews state this book is funny. Well I don’t know about that, maybe the story is funny but i didn’t reach that point in the story.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy.

If you liked Sabrina the Teenage Witch, you'll enjoy this book. It had witchy sitcom vibes, and was a great read for when your brain needs a break. The characters were fun, and the integration of the familiar's perspective was a part I surprisingly kept smiling at. A series with these characters would be cute and endearing, so I look forward to seeing what happens.
