It's books like this that remind me why I love romance and all the gooey that comes with it. It's so darn cute and steamy and "oh my gosh I'd die if that happened to me" that I can't think of a single reason to hate it. If I had to dislike anything, it'd be that there isn't a part two because it's always sad to say goodbye. But even then, the length was perfect.

Parker and Tamsen couldn't be more different, but if they have one thing in common, it's being held back by fear. For different reasons, for sure, but both by the thought of having love and seeing it go, taking parts of themselves that they don't think they can live without. Humor and sex is always the way to go but I love that despite the sex being fun and hot, it's the cute moments that had be going. Even the anticipation of getting my heart broken had me going and it absolutely made my day.

Ankenman is a new author to me and I already love her writing, the flow of things and making me feel like I'm actually in the characters' heads. The community feel-good vibes and the love of family and oneself were all awesome and I definitely want to check out more of her books. It was a fast read but if you love romantic comedies or firefighters or dizzy artists or "near stepsibling" oopsies, check this out and make your day.

A taboo romance told in dual POV with a fun plot you'll finish this story before you realize and crave more. A scorchin read with great characters, fun banter, and a few surprises too!

A great meetcute, one that finds our heroine artist in a bit of a sticky predicament requiring hot firefighter Parker to rescue her. Will they be able to keep their desire for eachother from burning out of control?

Will secrets destroy their chances for a happy-ever-after? Both Tamsen and Parker are worried about how it will impact their desire for each other. Can they figure out a way to be together after they discover they will soon be stepsiblings?

If you are looking for a taboo romance in dual POV Don't miss this series, can't wait to read the next two!

This one had a fun premise, rom-com style, finding out their parents are going to marry each other. Great escapist reading.

Mariah Ankenman has become one of my automatic buy authors because of this book! It's hilarious and witty and filled with hot passion! Not to mention that the actual story is well written and interesting! Like what would you do if you accidentally had the hots for the son of the woman your dad is about to marry (granted that you're both adults in your 30s). I loved this book so much I went back to read Mile High Happiness!

An awkward meet-cute and later on finding out their parents seemed to be going down the aisle are a few of the things that brought Parker and Tamsen together. This was a fun read with steamy scenes and lighthearted moments.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book received from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Wedding Dilemma brought together Parker and Tamsen, two people who absolutely had me rolling in laughter and anticipating their sizzle factor throughout this opening story in the Mile High Firefighters series.

Tamsen might have forgotten one tiny detail before casting herself up for an artistic endeavor… like the oil to keep the plaster from sticking to her skin like another layer. Oopsie. This prompted a slightly embarrassing 911 call which brought one sexy firefighter to her rescue. The fact that each almost immediately wanted to know the other far beyond this emergency call is obvious from the start. Which brought on, for me, the giggles and anticipating the sizzling parts to happen from the very start of The Wedding Dilemma.

To add to the combination of Rom-Com and Contemporary Romance feel of this story we’ll add a bit of protective son when it’s discovered that Parker’s mother is now engaged to Tamsen’s father… and Parker feels it’s his duty to investigate the man who will become his step-father since his mom is, well, loaded as far as finances go. Waiting for Tamsen to discover this little bit of information while falling for the man was an additional fun element of their story. While the step-siblings trope isn’t pushed to uncomfortable limits here, it still felt like a delightful romance between two people who would be related by marriage but isn’t about to let that detail stand in the way of their own happiness.

I had fun here. Likable characters, laugh-out-loud moments, a bit of tension, definitely sexy sizzling moments… what’s not to love about that combination? I’m definitely looking forward to what comes next in this series.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

The Wedding Dilemma is a side story of the Mile High series which focused on a wedding planning company. This story is about a friend of Finn named Parker, a insanely hot and sweet firefighter whose mom is getting married to a new man.

Enter Tamsen, the daughter of Parker’s moms fiancé and is an accident prone hottie. Their chemistry is strong and hot, well written tension, and their first time together was a new experience.

Hot, sexy and sweet- a great combo for a great book

The Wedding Diemma is pretty much about Parker and Tamsen. Parker's mom is marrying Tamsen's dad. His mother asks the two of them to work together to throw a wedding shower for their parents. In the midst of the shower planning, Parker and Tamsen form a relationship and fall for one another. The story was okay and characters kept me entertained.

The Wedding Dilemma by Mariah Ankenman is the first book in the Mile High Firefighter series. It has great chemistry between MCs; they're likable and fun to read. It's a very sexy and over the top at times read which I love. Couldn't get enough of Parker and Tamsen. Step sibilings are kind of one of my favorite tropes in books out there. Can't wait for the next book in the series, definitely will be waiting for it.

Title: The Wedding Dilemma
Author: Mariah Ankenman
Type: Standalone
Genres: Adult, Romance, Firefighters

Firefighters are my guilty pleasure, I absolutely adore firefighter shows. Hence when I got the chance to review a book based of firefighters my heart did a little flip. I really have not read any firefighter books and was quite excited to read this one. Now, based on the fact that I found this story so unique I did have my hopes up. Thinking that this book was going to be as beautifully scripted as my favorite drama Station 19, and sadly it wasn't. The story felt a little too much telling what the character felt, rather than me as the reader really feeling their emotions.

Tamsen our main character is an artist and a little clumsy. Hence after plastering her art into her body the fire rescue has to come save her. She is immediately attracted to one of the firefighters Parker. However, she never expects to see him in her father's engagement party to his MOTHER. Not only that but their parents decide they need to throw one of the bridal parties together. Their attraction continues but Parker, unbeknown to her and his mother, is looking at Tamsen father's background in fear of him wanting to take his rich mother's money.

The story is very linear, it follows a very straight and evident path until the lies blow up. You know from the beginning how and the way the story is going to develop. Which is one the things that I didn't end up liking from the writing, it was all too predictable. There are no plot twists and there comes a point of the book where you just want to skip to the end, even though you already know how it will end.

The last downside to the story was that I felt the parents voice was very scripted and not raw or real. Whenever Tamsen's father is giving advice it felt too dramatic for it to be a real conversation. I would have liked the teaching moments and realization moments for both characters to feel more natural not so scripted.

This was a very enjoyable romance. I liked Tamsen and Parker. They were sort of opposites, but worked so well together. The chemistry was there. The conflict was a little predictable, but I didn’t mind it all.
It was just a great easy romantic comedy that kept me entertained. That’s what I want from my books lately.

I can’t say I’ve actually ever read a step romance before, and while I didn’t love it, it wasn’t at all bad either. I loved the characters and their chemistry. I would definitely continue the series and can’t wait to see who’s up next!

The Wedding Dilemma is the first book in the new Mile High Firefighters series. There was tons of humor and plenty of quirky characters which certainly left me smiling at the end of the book. The characters were very entertaining and easy to fall in love with. Parker Kincaid was a firefighter for the Denver Fire Department and met Tamsen while responding to her emergency call. He was charmed by her and could not stop thinking of her. But he never expected to meet her again at his mother’s engagement party and discover she was going to become his stepsister. Parker had a hard time trusting people and he had a PI investigate Thomas, Tamsen’s father. He knew he was risking their relationship if Tamsen discovered it, but he could not risk his mother being hurt again. Tamsen Hayes was routinely caught in embarrassing situations and having a team of handsome firefighters cut her from the body cast she made was one of those times. She hoped to meet Parker again but not at her father’s engagement party where she learned he was going to become her stepbrother. The book began with the cute-meet between Skylar and Parker and continued with the fun until the end. I loved meeting all the characters and look forward to future books.

This book has everything a romcom needs. Its sassy and filled with fun dialogue. Its hot...like catch the kitchen on fire and need to be rescued by a hot fireman kind of hot 😉 And most importantly, the character's are likeable. They make you want to cheer them on through their romantic conundrums.
