This book was very "meh". I typically love short story compilations and I especially love connecting short stories. Mr. Jacket unfortunately didn't wow me and without that wow factor my attention falters. I would love to see more from this author by way of short stories just amp up the detail and give me something to shiver about.

I like this book. An anthology of sorts. Kept me on the edge of my seat in some parts. All in all I'd say this book is very good for people who like creepy stuff. Like me.

The description of this book had me excited; I was looking forward to an anthology of intertwining stories that were still unique. However, I ultimately wasn't able to finish this book... and I really did try. It may be a case of a need for some tighter editing, but the writing in this felt really clumsy, almost ham-fisted. It was simply too distracting to get through, and just not fun to read.

How do I tell anyone about this book? In a sense it’s more like a novel than what one might think. Yet at the same time it seems to be a collection of short stories that are linked together by Mr. Jacket. Who is Mr. Jacket? That is for you to discover. Mr. Jacket is very important in this book. I found this character fascinating.

It is definite horror but also weird fiction. I started the book and was drawn into the book immediately. My curiosity was aroused. I like this book, it’s still is a mystery for me to tell anyone about it. I can say that you should read it as it expands your thinking.

Mr. Jacket is waiting. He's always watching. He knows what you're thinking. The truth will set you free. 11 chilling stories about love, death, choices, horrors, and the mysterious man Mr. Jacket.

Overall I enjoyed this book. It was interesting to see how each of these stories connected back to Mr. Jacket. It was a pretty quick read for me. I think each story had an appropriate amount of time to be told. All of their plots summed up nicely at the end. I really like when anthologies have a clear connection, and that's why I'm giving this book 4 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the ARC.

Captivating from the moment I picked it up. However, the mundane evils started to get a bit...well, mundane. That is until I realized I was 80% done. Then I finished it up.

These are a compilation of stories surrounding a nefarious figure in white known as Mr Jacket. He wears a mask that is his face. So what happens if he takes it off?

For readers who enjoy the horrors of humanity and the real world.

I decent collection. I like the idea of a connecting character in each story. These stories don't have the polish of a more experienced author (and effective short stories require a particular type of writing). The author shows promise and I hope he continues to write.

Thanks very much for the ARC for review!!

This is a self published book by a young author. Although there are a few good ideas here the general impression is of something unpolished. Mr. Deshaies has a long way to go. Good luck to him. I hope his next book is an improvement.

3 Stars ⭐⭐⭐
Anthology is, well, and anthology of stories all linked together by a character called Mr. Jacket. This collection is ok. I gave it 3 stars because it was fine, but didn't wow me in any way. I believe the author was trying to convey that we are all responsible for the choices we make in life. No matter how hard we try we cannot out run fate or hide from decisions we have made. We must all take responsibility forour actions. I would absolutely recommend this collection to friends and horror fans.
Thank you to Netgalley for sending me a copy in exchange for an honest review.
