Julie, a widow of three years, is having trouble moving on. Her daughter Bri returns home to a family-friendly Florida beach town having set up a reunion of Julie’s three best friends from high school for her fiftieth birthday. Trevor, a recent transplant from Seattle, provides a chance of romance for Julie. Knight writes about lasting friendships as well as conflict. The negative to this one was that not a lot happens. The characters are likable but not very well developed. The positives were this was a wholesome romance with no sex scenes or foul language. It would make a light beach road. I thank the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read this ARC.

A wonderful summer read. Julie has been a widow for 3 years, and her daughter has decided she needs a jump start. She contacts her childhood best friends to come for her 50th birthday party. A handsome divorced Trevor is also on the island, trying to overcome his own issues. Good characters, good writing, and highly recommend this one. Hard to put down.

I truly enjoyed this book, I loved the fact that this story was written about characters that are 40+. As an avid reader I find more romances are written about twenty somethings and I’m over that stage in life and can’t relate. I wish there was more character building in the secondary characters (I hope each friend will have their own book). I love small town and friendships, this was a great read!

A book club, beach, vacation read. Fiction at its best. This tale has your rooting for the characters you’ve come to care about amongst the pages. Carla Knight is a queen.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

Julie, a widow, thinks she’s content and she’s lived her life the best way she could, that is until her daughter, gives her a fiftieth birthday present - her three besties from her childhood, who come to celebrate with her.

This is not what she was expecting and is a bit overwhelmed. Suddenly her life’s a lot more melodramatic than the peace she’s known to have.

They seem to think that her life isn’t past the best yet and a sailor, whose moved to the town is the perfect person to spend the rest of her life with.

Trevor, from a big city life has come here after he’s been through a failed marriage, and his reputation worse. He’s hoping to open a business, a charter company with his small boat.

Houdini-a pet ferret, takes an engine part, Trevor has no choice to follow his little dance, and so he’s lead to Julie. Now he’s got a choice to make, to be a recluse or open up to a new love......

Julie became a widow three years ago and is turning 50 soon. To surprise her mom and encourage her to restart her life, her daughter invites her best friends from when they were teenagers into town. In the meantime, Julie meets handsome divorcee Trevor who recently moved into town to restart his life. Will romance bloom between them?
I loved the small beach town setting as always and the fact that Julie is an older woman finding love and romance again. It was a delightful, sweet, and short summer read.

This book is the amazing friendship reunion we all need sometimes. Bri decides her widowed mother of 3 years, Julie, need a fresh start. Bri invites Julie's childhood friends to visit for her 50th birthday. Together, they all learn that true friendship can withstand the test of time, and together they can help Julie find love and passion again.

I am excited for the next book in this series to see where the Summer Book Club women continue with their path together.

This book is definitely a must read for your summer list!

If you’re looking for a wholesome quick beach read, this is the one for you. Julie can’t move past her husband’s death and stagnant life on a Florida Island. Her daughter comes back, along with Julie’s high school friends to kick start her life. A handsome neighbor, Trevor, adds drama to the story. My favorite was the ferret, Houdini. He added comedy to scenes and was a diva. I always like a beach scene. I like that two wounded souls were willing to take a shot at love again. A nice beach read.

This story grabbed me from the very first page and had me both laughing and crying with equal measure throughout.

This tells the story of Julie who is a young widow, and the recently divorced Trevor who both meet by chance and although neither are keen, fly.

Like Julie, I am a young widow too, so could relate to how she was feeling. I have to say Ciara got it spot on.

I highly recommend this book, it was a great read.

I received an ARC from Author Collective 20 Publishing through NetGalley. Julie lost her husband three years ago and her daughter comes to visit because she is worried about her mother. Julie has basically stopped living too, not wanting to move forward without her husband. Her daughter has a surprise for her 50th birthday. She has invited the girls from the Summer Island Book Club for a reunion, and they haven't seen each other since they all went their separate ways to begin their adult life.
At first Julie was upset because she thought her old friends had gone out into the world, and she had stayed and done nothing. Her daughter reminded her of the best thing she had accomplished, and said none of them would come any way, so her daughter gave her the envelopes, and they had all accepted and was excited about getting together again.
Meanwhile, Trevor has moved to Florida to open a small boat charter company. As he and his friend was taking apart the engine of one of the boats, a furry animal came aboard and took a screw that they would need to put the boat back together. The animal seemed to be playing with them as they followed it and ended up at Julie's shop. Houdini the town ferret was playing matchmaker. Trevor had just got divorced and didn't want any woman.
It is going to be a couple of weeks, of getting reacquainted, getting to know who they each are now, and who they each are becoming. Yes it definitely is a recipe for some mischief with Houdini, and he does add some spice, but it is also about taking the time to get to know a person before judging them.
This is a great book to read, the people are fascinating, and it is interesting seeing in just a few short weeks all they learned about themselves, and like a butterfly emerged changed.

I knew I was going to love this book! Widow, Julie Boone has lived her life and is content, so she thought until her daughter gives her the perfect nightmare of a fiftieth birthday gift-her three childhood besties!
The characters were the best part! They made this book fun! Light hearted! Interesting!
I would recommend this romance to anyone

Julie Boone has been a widow for three years. To make her happy, her daughter organize a meeting with his club of friends' books, which they created before they went their separate ways when they were young.

Trevor Ashford moves to Florida after a divorce from Seattle. He wants to open a small shipping company and live a life in peace.

However, it is not as simple as it seems. Everyone gets there in the same place at the right time. it’s not easy for both but you can both give yourself a new opportunity. There is attraction, trust, friendship and more.

I love the slowing taking part of the friendship in the first place. Discovering leaf after leaf the pure nature of all friends. And it was so nice to read abut people in late 40s. The times goes too fast. But we can live it is so many ways. Maybe some other book of them would be nice to read. So much worm really.

I received a copy on Netgalley.com in exchange for an honest review. Special gratitude goes to
BookBuzz publishers who approved me.

You can almost feel the splashing water, a summer breeze, and the sand between your toes. This book will make you very excited for summer! The descriptions in this book are beautiful and warm. The story is extremely heartwarming.

The book is very well written. The characters are thought out and feel real. Ciara Knight did a very good job of developing these characters and their storylines. I loved Julie and Trevor's relationship, and how they support each other. Even in their misunderstandings and with all the trouble that comes along, their story together is very sweet.

I have to mention the humor in this book as well. There are some pretty hilarious parts in this book and some fun dialogues in between. You will indeed get the full package in this book!

The cover is furthermore absolutely adorable and beautiful! You can not help but get the summer vibe from this cover!

This novel is charming, lovely, and the true definition of sweet romance! This was my first time reading one of Ciara Knights novels, but definitely not my last of hers!
